  • A poem I wrote, because I love you.
    If I Died
I think I would miss peaches, and definitely pears
The warm, sweet fruits of summer Fragrant and ripening
The way I love the sunlight first thing in the morning
And how it turns into fire on Autumn nights
I'd miss the layers of sandstone and the scent
that rises up when you lift a piece out of the water
The little water bugs that skitter
And the crayfish flicking back in a cloud of mud
I'd miss the way the breeze sometimes seems sent just for me
Like the soft touch of divinity whispering all around
Letting me know that when I'm lost I will always be found
While the leaves dance with no reservations
I wouldn't miss sorrow, or tears, or pain
But I'd miss the intensity they bring to joy
How their absence makes happiness bubble
The way I feel when a storm fades to beautiful peace
But mostly I would miss you
The way you look right after you smile
Like nothing could ever hurt you again
Even though we both know that's not true
I'd miss bringing you peaches and pears
And seeing the sun light your eyes in the morning
Things as simple as watching you too love the breeze
    Or dancing with no reservations
I'll stay, and hope to catch you smiling
Because I cannot be the one to hurt you
So I'll wait here, until the storm fades on its own
    Into beautiful peace
    And pray divinity embraces us.
