    I love how most people stumble across Rad Tech even though we all have met one and had an x-ray before 😊

    I love your video so much. I also felt like you were speaking to me directly. It’s so personal and I’m so related what you explained in your video. I also had to change my life and chose rad tech. I have an interview tomorrow. Thank you so much. You’re truly inspired to me.

    How old were you when you settled on rad tech? I’m 26 and already desperately trying to change career paths. But am afraid I’ll be wasting time if I don’t get chosen by the end of it

      I chose it when I was probably 22 or 23. But I'm 26 now and it's never too late. There are people in my program in their 40s and 50s. If you really want a change, then I say go for it!

      Mine is done based on grades & GPA. I currently have 3.8 GPA. I was wondering what was your GPA before entering the program?

    • @SydneyLyra
      @SydneyLyra  3 роки тому

      Hi tina!! 👋 thanks for watching 👀 I entered the program with a 4.0 GPA but my program entry wasn't based off of GPA. I had to have a minimum of a 2.75 GPA to be approved if I remember correctly.

    Hi Sydney, glad I found your channel, question I am thinking of enrolling into college to pursue the Rad Tech program but I am nervous about math, is it used a lot in this program? not sure if you are able to answer my question. Thank you

    • @SydneyLyra
      @SydneyLyra  3 роки тому +5

      There is math involved in physics and you'll need some basic algebra. But its nothing super crazy. I was concerned too but I dont think its that bad honestly!

    Would you recommend taking the prereqs in a cc before applying to a pc ?

    • @SydneyLyra
      @SydneyLyra  3 роки тому +2

      Hi daysi! If you are willing to spend a little extra time in college, I would absolutely recommend doing the prerequisites first so that's its cheaper.
      Thank you for watching ❤

    So true about taking the prerequisite classes at a community college first.

    • @SydneyLyra
      @SydneyLyra  2 роки тому +1

      Yes! Absolutely. It's so much more affordable and can take a weight off in the first few semesters!

    Did you have an interview for acceptance into your program? My community college requires an interview so I would love some insight into this process if you have any! Thank you! :)

    • @SydneyLyra
      @SydneyLyra  2 роки тому

      Hi Hannah! I did have an acceptance interview.
      It was a lot of questions to see if I was doing it for the right reasons. Also questions about difficult situations and how you overcame them. All programs are different so the entry processes and interviews are different as well.
      As long as your heart is in the right spot, you should be great! Don't overthink it 🥰

    Do you think it's possible to work at least part time while in rad tech school?

    • @SydneyLyra
      @SydneyLyra  3 роки тому +3

      Hi Sharmaine! 👋 yes. Its definitely possible. I work 20 hours a week. Having a full class load along with work is definitely difficult but it's doable. And if you start school and find that the job is too much you can always cut back on hours ❤

      @@SydneyLyra thanks Sydney! Are you able to manage that with clinicals by any chance? I'm a vet tech trying to switch to the human side but unfortunately the bills don't stop while in school :(

    • @SydneyLyra
      @SydneyLyra  3 роки тому +1

      @@sharmaineong8885 I don't start clinicals until September but it's 32 hours a week of clinicals at that point. So just keep in mind the time investment. My suggestion would be to take out student loans for some of your bills to help you through if the part time job is too much.
