The fact he went into depth of how the coyotes feel about each call is amazing
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Give us a subscription, we have some more coming, and trapping instructionals as well, if you’re into it. 👍🏼
My coyote sounds like it’s going through puberty lol
HAHA you’ll get there man! Higher pitched ones sound like female howls anyways. 👍🏼👍🏼
Practice makes perfect man I mess up sometimes as well!
Mine can't figure out what it identifies as...
Mine goes from prepubescent Chihuahua to dying chicken all in the same breath
See if either sound brings in a yote and let us know! Only half kidding! Weird stuff works sometimes. Keep trying and good luck!
That's one of the best explanations of these devices.
Thank you! Subscribe for similar content in the future. If you have any requests, we’re taking them. 👍🏼
Your distress drove my German shepherd nuts while watching the video 😂
The video is awesome!! I’m glad you explain their howls, of all the videos I’ve watched you’re the first person to explain what they’re saying from their howls!!! Keep up the awesome videos will definitely be watching more!!
Thanks for the nod, Colby! Adam did a fantastic job explaining the ins and outs, and we're happy you enjoyed it! We will be soon making a follow-up video regarding coyote hunting and calling soon, so definitely feel free to subscribe! Thanks again!
Great tutorial video. He sounds very knowledgeable and easy to understand. I am excited to see future content from these guys. Keep up the good work!
Corybryan87 Thank you! We really appreciate the feedback. VERY excited for this season. Adam is a great addition to our team.
Awesome video!
I always wondered about how to use those , thanks for the detail on how to use them.
No prob. Thanks for watching!
Nice helps me know how to use mine
I had to learn it for myself, even after watching for UA-cam videos. You have to draw the air into your lungs, that’s how these things work. Suck the air in, and it’s easy to control after that. That should be the first thing you ever hear when you’re taught about these things
Try cartridge calls for a back up to any e-caller or diaphram call.
This guy makes me wanna try predator hunting!!!
DO IT! 🤜🤛
thanks that was a lot of help
No problem, thanks for taking the time to comment! Feel free to check out our predator hunting playlist and let us know what you think.
So I just got one of these and I followed the instructions but I'm not getting any sound at all could you explain how to blow into it in more detail?
Had no clue yall were outta pa.....I live and hunt in Central pa.....great content
Thanks! Yeah we are all throughout PA, a couple guys in Ohio, and one in Montana. We’ve been hammerin the dogs recently but havnt posted much of em on social media. Appreciate the comment 👍🏼 Good luck this season.
Honestly, it tickles
So what do I say when I’m trying to bark? Like something to help me produce that sounds? I seen someone say that you should say HUCK. But it doesn’t help me
Hi Tucker, this is Adam the one that was demonstrating the calling. Personally I say “roof” like a dog bark. Hope this helps!!
Damn u responded fast.. I have heard good thing about these calls but I heard they take very long to get good at and I’m just worried that I’ll waste my money. I don’t even hunt but I study coyotes and I’m a photographer 😂
Haha well I’ll tell you this, it doesn’t take too much effort to be good enough to get responses. One of the things we use to locate coyotes is a generic siren sound. The in-depth calls and analysis in this video as well as more knowledge we have is just to get them close and in the open so we can shoot them. Takes a lot less to get them curious to show themselves. Biggest tip, especially for eastern coyotes, is wait 15-20 minutes after you call and get responses. They’ll get curious enough and usually come in downwind, or at a crosswind.
Man when you did that kyeye or how ever you spell it I jumped up and looked out the window to see what was wrong lol 😂. Jk that was good man . Thanks
Thank you appreciate it! They call it a ki-yi or distress call.
Great video, but the music is little distracting
Thanks for letting us know, Nitro. We'll make sure to turn it down a notch. 😉
Oh! And how do you apply the clips that separate the diaphragms?
Theta, honestly I don’t know what clip you speak of? Never had a clip to separate the reeds of a diaphragm call.
@@HeirstotheOutdoors really? How strange… now I’m beginning to wonder about my calls.
@@HeirstotheOutdoors I have a predator set, and the calls come with a clip per layer of latex. I won’t lie, it has significantly increased its lifespan
@@HeirstotheOutdoors example as best since yt still doesn’t allow us to share photos between one another related to video….. (AHEM) I have in front of me, a hunter orange (feels like gauze tape?) esa “custom calls” brand coyote howler. This howler has a three layer reed, thus two clips to keep them apart?
I got an Esa combo pack, with coyote pup, howler, and cotton tail, I would like to know if I should position the printed words up or down? ( towards roof, away from roof of mouth) and how to cut to fit? Apparently I need to
Theta, sorry I just now saw this comment. On the call it should have a metal tab (bump) that should be positioned facing down by your tongue.. most likely the words will be on the roof of your mouth. Also, just cut the outer trim to whatever feels comfortable in your mouth but don’t go to small to where you can possibly inhale it and choke.
@@adamhurley3469 these don’t have metal I don’t think? But they do have clips that I am curious if they’re to separate the reeds. Or supposed to be used to direct the air flow?
@@adamhurley3469 I do apologize, I know I’m frustrating…. It’s just I badly would like to learn this, and my stupid questions play a happy part for me 😅
@@thetalungbarrow325 don’t apologize for anything that’s what we are here for! I’m curious about your clips is their anyway I could see them like email me a picture or anything that you are comfortable with?
@@adamhurley3469 I can once I get settled down again and can come back to this…. Chaos just broke out in my small blip of a life 😅
Where do you get one?
Type in MFK Game Calls on Google, it’ll pop up!
Never used a diaphragm call, am I suppose to howl myself or just blow out air and not make a actual noise myself?
Try and make a howl sound, if you just blow it won’t sound like a howl.
Thank you
Just keep pressure on the call between ur tongue and roof of ur mouth and alternate that pressure until it sounds right. I’ve found getting an even distribution of weight on the tongue instead of a hard press from the middle of the tongue works best. You can hit those lower pitches of a male that way too.
Been trying to get the hang of my mofo for awhile but I haven’t got much better. Inhave too much of a high pitch
Try either: using less pressure, bringing the call back further in your mouth, and/or lowering your jaw. -Brian
I can ask Adam if there’s anything he’d recommend specifically and get back to you!
Adam agrees, and adds that the high pitch can be a good thing; it can sound like a female or pup. Good luck!
Have you ever seen someone who just can’t ever get it right because of physical characteristics of mouth/tongue? Dumb question I know but I just can’t even get close to a good howl.. course i’m comparing to Torry which I probably shouldn’t do.
Was there any voice in the locator
Hi 400 Ex, I’m confused in your question if you elaborate I might be able to answer better. ~Adam
@@HeirstotheOutdoors What I mean is did you use voice when you’re doing the locator call like did you have any vocals in it
I just personally go aaaaarrrrrrooooooooooooooo like you are trying to howl like a coyote without a mouth call in. Whenever you make the howl just take your tongue and put it closer to the call for higher pitch. Once you reach the peak hold it for a little bit then drop off. Hope this helps! ~Adam
@@HeirstotheOutdoors yes this helps a lot thank you
I have the mofo call but I'm having trouble sounding like a yote.
Honestly I believe the mofo is one of the easiest calling diaphragm I have used. Do you get a sound out of it at least?
@@HeirstotheOutdoors yeah I can easily get sound but finding the right one a being consistent is very difficult. For me anyway. I'm only 3 days into it though.
It takes time, even a long time. Keep at it 👍🏻👍🏻
So if you have 2 coyotes and you shoot one and the other runs off, you use the distress call and it just might come back?? Must be a pretty stupid animal to do that!
I can't afford a bow right now so I might just buy a call and practice calling animals just for fun.
Learning their language is really fun and will get ur heart pumping when they’re screaming at you at night
How about showing which way the thing goes in.....
I did describe it in the video reeds out metal tab down
I can’t make a sound
Make sure the air is coming from your diaphragm. Start with the most pressure against the call in your mouth and keep reducing pressure while you blow until sound comes out. Also, you may be using too little or too much air. Hope you find the sweet spot!
I mean, if my presumed dead buddy called for help,
Audio dropped out...
I feel way too stupid to use this.
Lol it can take a while. It can be very effective if you’re hunting dogs that are used to the same ole e-caller sounds. Let us know if you have any questions by commenting on here or shooting us a message on IG or FB!
Would of been nice to see your mouth the whole time I'm trying to learn this on my own I know it looks weird but it's really helpful
Good luck! It takes a while and each call is different. If you have any additional questions either ask us here, or message us on Facebook or Instagram and one of our predator experts will provide you with answers to your question(s). Thanks for watching, and hit the subscribe button if you haven’t already. After turkey season we will be putting out more coyote how-to content!
I'm using this so I can admire coyotes. Why would you trick them and then kill them? Thanks though! Will be useful for admiring these guys.
When u get livestock you'll understand. Until then keep admiring them.
Maybe take a camera with you. But be aware in some states it’s illegal to call unless hunting. Especially out of season. It is considered wildlife harassment. And in season, you might have to have a hunting license, as calling is considered hunting. I wouldn’t thing a DNR officer would ticket you, but it’s possible.
Awesome video!
Thanks Bobby! Good luck this season.
Your welcome!! Good luck to you to!
