@JohnnyCage-hk8ly It could be that they're told that once they age out they'll be euthanized and she could have seen many hellhounds age out and get taken away and never come back. It could also be a way for the pound to keep the hellhound population down or at least the "undesirable" ones. A lot of regular pounds euthanize the older animals if they're there for a long time to keep from getting filled up so more can come in. It's sad and depressing but it still happens. The reason she lashes out so much with aggressive violence could be a mix of learned behavior from the pound and a fear of getting attached only to wind up being sent back so she forces herself to not get super attached. Blitz is probably aware of this which is why he lets her and doesn't rlly scold her. He could likely put her in her place fairly easy considering how strong he is when fighting yet he doesn't raise a hand to her regardless of how she lashes out.
