(well, hrm- listed twice in that document- different orchestras, but with the same conductor. But anyhow, possibly a 2009 performance under Słowiński. Possibly not, too, of course :) )

Dedicated to Gregor Fitelberg, according to the first page of the 1955 full (-large-) score.

Thank you so much for putting this up, collectionCB3 - BUT - this is not directed by Bader. The ONLY known performance of this symphony was done by Polish National Radio (or equivalent) in 1954 and what you have here is a copy of that radio broadcast. The manuscript of the symphony resides in the Bacewicz wing of the music college of a Californian university and has some information on it. I wish that Bader and his orchestra WOULD dust this off and record it like he did No.3. It needs a CD.

I realize that I am entering this game very late, but 7777Scion, could this be the Symphony No 4 performance you are referring to? Conducted by Bohdan Wodiczko with the Cracow PO. You will have to scroll down a bit to find it. web.archive.org/web/20000823085845/www.usc.edu:80/dept/polish_music/VEPM/bacewicz/b-disc-f.html

Actually Bacewicz's only symphony to have probably not been performed is her youth unnumbered symphony ("No. 0") from 1938. The true questions are : have her first two numbered symphonies been performed other times, and have they been recorded ? If so, I join Matt Brown to hope that someone will post them on UA-cam !

Well, first we'll have to have Symphony No.1 and No.2 performed! They have never had a performance, not even during Bacewicz's lifetime. Sad. :-(

the 2nd was, I think, only recently published. Nothing says for sure that the 1951 performance was recorded (I hope so personally) but now that the work has been published I can hope for a performance (work unread and sound unheard, it's true, but I enjoy most of her music that I know). I know of two recorded performances of the 3rd (one commercial, one radio, I think?) -- also, the 4th symphony was performed 2009-11-20, Orkiestra Filharmonii Podlaskiej, K. Słowiński in Bialystok. Could this be from that performance? (See pwm.com.pl/pl/authors/4782/koncerty.html )

Well, I think you're wrong : according to the Polish Music Center (just search "Grazyna Bacewicz List Works" and you'll find it), all of Grazyna Bacewicz's four numbered symphonies have been performed : her "Symphony No. 1" (1945) has been premiered on 28 May 1948 at Cracow by the Cracow Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Walerian Bierdiajew, and her "Symphony No. 2" (1951) has been premiered on 13 April 1951 at Warsaw by the National Philharmonic Orchestra (Warsaw) conducted by Witold Rowicki.

You tell me it's not Bader, but you don't tell me who is the conductor ! According to the informations I found, it's performed by the Philharmonia Hungarica conducted by Roland Bader.

Well whoever posted that was just plain wrong. Bader recorded the 3rd symphony, but that's it. I don't know who the conductor was for the radio broadcast - remember, that was half a century ago! Perhaps one of the Polish Bacewicz fan sites may have that information, but I cannot speak let alone write in Polish. But trust me, what I stated are the facts in this case. There are many biographies and colleges that back it up. If her 4th was recently recorded it would have been huge news.

No. Read my original post on this. I have read much of UoC's documentation on her life, and this fact is stated very plainly.

I don't know who is the conductor nor the orchestra concerning this precise video. On my source, it was indicated that the conductor was Roland Bader, but ultimately it seems that it's not him...

Roland Bader ? Certainly no, the sound recording is far from so good as for Symphony No. 3 by Roland Bader. Probably before 1960's recording.
