I think that the off-the-cuff suggestion that Hampden Park "isn't one of Europe's best" stadiums, flies in the face of the fact that Hampden is one of only 25 grounds with a UEFA 5 star rating. Given the enormous number of football grounds in Europe, with many that are brand new and have excellent modern facilities, this puts Hampden well up the table.

I think this is the best format for the Euros. Transportation in Europe is generally highly developed and its a relatively a small continent to get around. They can choose a different finals venue like they do with the club european competitions.
It's obvious why Nou Camp or Bernabeu were not chosen. Bilbao (and then Sevilla) are neutral ground so every side is happy (or should I say neither side is pissed off).
