In response to the issues with your PC, to me, it looks like you have got your Windows installation (I assume you are using Windows) corrupted or broken if all drivers have been checked. I might be wrong though, but before changing to a new CPU and/or MOBO if you have a spare HDD or SSD you can check your hardware with a fresh installation of Windows and drivers. I hope this would help. P.D: I forgot to mention that the PSU might be the culprit too. When a PSU can't deliver enough power, as soon as you start utilizing GPU intensively the PC freezes. If that is the case try switching to new or more powerful PSU (1200 W or above).
Vinny try taking your RAM out and putting it back in. sometimes RAM can be in but not in all the way. it sounds like all youre crashing happens during ram use issues.
If the PC is turning off seemingly randomly, it might just be a Motherboard issue, try looking up to find your Motherboards BIOS version to see if it is outdated, not all manufacturers keep their Motherboards' BIOS up to date with the newest CPUS even if they support them. Also I enjoyed the stream vinny
The first time I played Bloodborne, when I got to my first chest, I stopped playing to google if mimics were in the game. Even after seeing multiple people say no, I still hit every chest just in case. Sometimes, the best mimic is not having one at all.
I've yet to try it, so my opinion probably isnt justified. But it just looks... generic? Theres nothing that really stands out except the fact that it's in vr
@@mint5438 You're on the money: if you've played a few VR games, it's not that special sadly. The combat is floaty and weak, there's not much variation in gameplay, everything just feels "meh". I was excited for it, but I refunded it the same day I bought it.
Hey Vin and John. Self-taught with computer builds running on 15 years. Sounds like Vinny has a bad RAM chip; if he's doing memory intensive operations and he's getting blue-screens with a failure to write error-logging. Not 100% sure on this, but an easy way to tell is by uninstalling one stick of RAM at a time and if the crashes still occur, moving to the next one until that's ruled out. No idea if this will help or not but just wanted to throw it out there on the off chance it does! Might save Vin from having to buy an entirely new setup.
While it sounds like a ram issue, there's the potential that it might not be the ram, but the *bios set to XMP.* Overclocking the memory like that can randomly cause crashes due to memory leaks and have it appear to be a RAM or even a hardrive issue. (Specially if the power supply is lacking) There's a small chance that changing the bios profile back to standard instead of XMP might save you the money on ram.
I had random bluescreens for a while. And it WAS the ram. Like I tried every ram setting. XMP on, XMP off, different clock speeds but the bluescreen crashes stopped once I took out the Corsair RAM and replaced it with a different brand. Like the PC would run fine, but at random points it would beep, or it would bluescreen on the most mundane of tasks. Like once or twice a week for the BSOD. And it was BOTH sticks of ram. Like the issue would happen with either one in.
@@MrWolfSnack Well, it depends what you're overclocking. For instance, any nVidia GPU that's the same die as the GT710 are amazing overclockers, and in my case, it [nVidia K2000M 2 GB] actually runs a touch cooler than the stock clocks due to the PCIe bus not being a full 16x width. And I get like +30 FPS in a lot of titles.
It definitely sounds like a RAM issue to me, from my small experiences in trying to fix my old computer. I would replace the RAM (even with some older sticks from a different machine if it's available) versus replacing the mobo and cpu. Even if you just buy new RAM it'd still be cheaper. The only other thing I can think about is the harddrive having an issue. Good luck vinny.
this little section right here 18:07 you can tell vinny was just smiling and genuinely enjoying himself. i do the same exact thing when i’m spacing out and feeling awesome
Vin, try running memtest86 while you're out for the day to do a burn-in test. Bad or failing RAM can cause gremlins and instability that can be really tough to pin down.
I keep finding such amazing games to play. Thanks, Vincent, for streaming this one! I used to have dreams I was in environments, like this. Now, I can live the dream of being a pixel dungeon crawler.
32:30 maybe is the SSD,Motherboard or RAM,this things are always try and error until the problem is solved. It would help to see the bluescreen code, next time it happens i recommend taking a photo with your phone and show to whoever is troubleshooting for you. When the problem is solved,i recommend making restorations points,it's really easy and gives you peace of mind, because whenever you install a drive or program that would make the windows bluescreen, you could just go back to a restoration point, making the pc go back to normal without losing you programs configurations,is a really fast fix.
crashing problem could be hard drive too. especially if it's at random, or when doing hard drive heavy stuff like file transfer etc. 41:00 especially so with failed to write as a crash report. could also be ram maybe?
If the error is that the computer can't write, then it is a HDD, or SSD. Me and my dad (Who built my beast of a computer) was talking about it. And if it crashes when moving a file or playing a game, then it makes way more sense if its a bad HDD (or a SSD if you don't have a HDD). Hope you all have a great day.
I would do a fresh install on a secondary drive and try to recreate the problem. That way you could test the fresh install without having to start from scratch.
So many others have said it, but that sounds like a RAM problem. If you want to test that, you can do a process of elimination on each DIMM by taking out the other(s) and doing stuff for a while. There are also diagnostic programs but those don't always pick up on issues. If it's not ram it could be your PSU, motherboard or other internal component, though those are much less likely.
I multitask alot, and had issues with blue screens when resource intensive games were minimized/big file transfers were happening in the background. It was caused by not having enough RAM. Went from 8gb to 24gb and haven't had blue screen since.
I remember I was getting some weird crashes with my PC, it wasn't when running rather upon start up it wouldn't work. It turned out to just be the bios/boot settings kept resetting because the motherboard battery needed replacing. It's probably not relevant, but it comes to mind because it was an issue I thought was complex (I had tried several things to fix) when it turned out to be one of the simplest things.
If crashes are occurring during file transfers or file compression, then it definitely sounds like a RAM issue or potentially a hard drive/ssd or CPU issue. The GPU isn't involved at all during those types of workloads and RAM can obviously cause game instability cuz, y'know, it helps load everything. Try pulling out all your RAM and test it one stick at a time with those specific applications, it's likely that one stick has just gone bad or, if this has been happening for a long time, maybe the RAM just wasn't put in properly to begin with and simply needs to be re-seated. You can also try the Windows memory checker or MemTest, though they may or may not show errors depending on what's wrong
About those random PC crashes. You might try replacing your RAM set entirely to see if that fixes anything. Memory failure can cause blue screens at completely random times. Another possibility is a bad power supply or too much power draw from some of your hardware, but I think that's less likely.
I've had similar issues with my pc and I'm fairly certain it's the motherboard, however often my issues are solved by cleaning the cabinet aka getting rid of the dust build-up. When I want to check for events I usually go into control panel, system and safety, administration, log book and then leave it at "log book (local)". It'll list off several types of errors. It goes from Critical to error to warning to information to watching (roughly translated from my native tongue). So essentially from "you gotta act on this" to "meh, you can ignore this". Usually when my pc crashes it shows the error called "41 kernel power system". I've been told that's related to the motherboard, so if you get that error too (it'll be under critical in the log book list) then it's on the motherboard. However I'm not too sure it's the motherboard as yours is only 2 years old, whereas mine's about 12 years old now. (one last note: Whenever my pc crashes I can always find the errors and such via the way I described here.) Hope this helps a bit ^^
My friend is actually having a similar crashing issue atm. We’ve narrowed it down to it either being the RAM he is using or a corrupted dll file. I would look into those being a possibility
I've heard of what's called "dead spots" in RAM, usually doesn't take effect until you are doing a lot and memory reaches that "dead spot" in the ram and crash. However, I suspect it could even be CPU overheating. Get an application that reads temperatures like CPUZid but try replacing RAM first.
Reminds me of Delver a bit, though I do think some of the graphics need a bit of an upgrade, the pixel art is definitely not nearly as good as delvers graphics. But still, seems cool.
Hope you get your PC issues sorted out without too much trouble, Vin. Looks like a pretty fun VR game. Will be looking forward to seeing you play more if you feel like it.
I had a similar issue on my old computer. It used to bluescreen randomly sometimes it ran for a week straight and sometimes it crashed right after boot. I fixed it temporarily by reseating the RAM sticks but it started happening again after like a month or so. This might not be the case here (this happend back in the power hungry DDR2 era) but my mobo basically couldn't supply enough volts to the RAM and lowering it in BIOS fixed it. I'd try fiddling with RAM sticks first and then mobo because I don't think it's CPU related but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh shit, SO glad Vin is playing this! Suggested it a while ago, knew he would dig it. Hope he plays more at some point, but just glad he checked it out. This game deserves more eyes on it, it's a lot of fun. And yea, simple pixel graphics or whatever, but it's really nicely designed and cohesive, and looks great in the headset, Hope to see more!
I would agree that the technical issues sadly sound like a cpu/motherboard issue. Considering crashes are happening specifically during large file transfers, you can certainly rule out the GPU given it is not responsible for that kind of process. Though to be safe, I would also recommend testing out your RAM just to rule it out as well.
about the computer issues, there might be the PSU that is the problem, me and my brother had somewhat the same issues, random crashes without event viewer. try swapping out the PSU, maybe it will help
but i want a vr dungeon where you can pick up enemies and yeet them, as well as mess around with the environment realistically, like barricades and . . .
I really want to see Vinny play Raw Data or Sairento in VR. Both excellent vr games that make you feel like John Matrix himself. They were both popular with early vr adopters, but have unfortunately become a lot less well-known as the years have gone by. There’s a whole lot of new vr players who don’t know about these great games.
Hey Bootie, I had a similar issue, where I would get blue screen for what it looked like random reasons. It turned out that it was my msi liquid cooler was faulty, so any processes that required a spike in power, even if small, it would heat up the cpu really fast and blue screen me. After I changed it to a new one, I never got that problem again. I would suggest trying a new cpu cooler unit and see if you get blue screen again. Either way, I hope you can figure it out soon.
"it crashes when it I play a game." "It crashes when i transfer files windows crashes their unrelated." When you play a game, your textures are loaded to the ram, when the ram fucks up bam crashes.. When it blue screens on restart it is 1000% ram. When your transferring a file between hard drives it gets loaded to the the ram and then throws it to the next hdd. Popout your ram cards and re-seat them. Could have a bad ram cars or slot.
Most bluescreens I've had with my PC is usually bc of ram. I think vinny should get a kit (from a different brand - i recommend crucial but anything else is fine) and see if that works. Memory is super cheap right now and its one of the quickest things to check if thats the cause to his problems.
Hey Vin sorry to hear about your computer issues coming back. I know you talked about what all you looked at the first time you started having these issues so sorry if this already covers some things you've tried. 1. Have you monitored the temp of your system during these actions? Crashes seem to take place when you're utilizing more processing power. Would be curious to see if your temps exceed recommended levels when you crash. 2. I don't know if you built your own rig but I started having weird issues with mine and found it was from a poor motherboard build that caused my CPU to seat weird in the mobo, and this is what caused issues for me. I had to get a completely new mobo and pcu because of this issue because it bent my pins, and it sounds like you're already considering this as an option. Good luck! Love the content and wish you the best.
Hey Vinny? If it is CLOCK_WATCHDOG error you are getting. The same errors happened for me, I had to switch out my CPU only that fixed it. The motherboard itself was not an issue, but it was a faulty CPU, had a I7-11700K, got I5-11600k and honestly it works better for gaming for me, but it fixed the issue.
Vinny try taking your RAM out and putting it back in. sometimes RAM can be in but not in all the way. it sounds like all your crashing happens during ram use issues.
Vinny it sounds like a mobo or psu issue. You could try getting away with lowering your voltage out to your ram and cpu. Essentially doing an undervolt of sorts. It could possibly be your PSU alternatively… that would be the best circumstance. Potentially your gpu is taking your psu right onto the threshold of its limit and causing other parts of the system to lose their power and cause a crash. Sorry for the ramble spaghetti and I wish you the best.
i played the free beta for this game or im not too sure if it was the beta but the free version before it was out and i honestly had so much fun it didnt last long tho a couple days to figure out what youre doing and you can kinda crush the game but it was insanely fun imo i wish i can get the paid version soon
tbh even having the know how of trouble shooting make it difficult with out one having the same set up and problem bc even there we would be having complete different reasons to resolve. so sadly to say i can't give real usefull help.
When I saw the art style I immediately needed this. Too bad I only have PSVR... 😢 On that note... is there ANY way to rig up PSVR to play steam VR games? Or am I gonna have to shell out for an Index or Quest 2?
Oh man, it's crazy seeing index and Quest 2 being weighed up as if they are equal choices... The index is insanely high quality in every sense, but you could buy _three_ Quest 2s and give a hundred bucks to charity for the same price :L There's no way to get psvr working with steam sadly, and the controllers wouldn't work with games not built for them if you could. For 300 shmeckles though (or less second hand) you can have wireless VR in any room without having to set up a dedicated VR space, and unless you have serious specs you'll probably not even push the framate/resolution limit of a Quest 2. And then you can spend the $700 you saved not buying an index however you want 😉 Just my two cents!
@@MysterousBear I would much rather have an index, definitely, its the price that kills me lol. Not only would I need the index but I'd have to buy a whole new PC because my mediocre laptop definitely can't handle VR. I'm leaning more toward the quest because it's way cheaper, doesn't require a PC and is still much better than the PSVR I have now. I was really impressed with my PSVR, too, so any reasonable upgrade from that would be great honestly, and from what I know Quest 2 has a significantly better resolution which was my main issue with the PSVR. I've heard a lot of good things about the Quest 2 as well so that's probably what I will end up with. A new PC with Index is pretty far off for me financially speaking but yeah, ultimately the Index would be perfect. Shit, by the time I can afford an Index the Index 2 will probably be out. 🤣 Those just seem like the 2 best options for VR, not including the PSVR 2 which would require a PS5 and I'm definitely not gonna get that for a while either so meh.
i built my 1st pc maybe 5 years ago and im still useing it now, and wow does ssd's kick the hard drives outta the park in boot time and ect. but after alot of uninstalling and reinstalling games on my 1tb ssd im crashing when updating game or downloading them or downloading updates. idk but i think its the ssd is on its way out. i just havent gotten another for 140 bucks to try it. :/ all i get is blue snreen :( face, and critical_error (something) and it restarts itself.
Hey Vinny, the problem you're having sounds like it might be the hard drive. You could be experiencing some severe read/write errors that're crashing the computer--it'd make sense to happen during a game and a file transfer as they're both making lots of changes to the drive at the same time. I could certainly be wrong, but I think that's what it might be.

This game deserves more eyes on it, it's a lot of fun. And yea, simple pixel graphics or whatever, but it's really nicely designed and cohesive, and looks great in the headset, Hope to see more!
This looks fun
I would agree that the technical issues sadly sound like a cpu/motherboard issue. Considering crashes are happening specifically during large file transfers, you can certainly rule out the GPU given it is not responsible for that kind of process. Though to be safe, I would also recommend testing out your RAM just to rule it out as well.
about the computer issues, there might be the PSU that is the problem, me and my brother had somewhat the same issues, random crashes without event viewer. try swapping out the PSU, maybe it will help
Already switched that out.
@@vinesauce have you tried the RAM sticks? try running a ram tester from a flashdrive
but i want a vr dungeon where you can pick up enemies and yeet them, as well as mess around with the environment realistically, like barricades and . . .
BLADE AND SORCERY
Yet to play it but check out legendary tales!
This game are sick, I hope he plays more.
This is a huge surprise. Love this game and I’m lookin forward to watching vinny play
Yeah um this game is sick I bought it right when it came out of beta. Also thanks for giving the dev exposure man!
check your pc temps and make sure your thermal paste is properly applied, otherwise try the RAM
This makes me want to get a VR headset
Hey Bootie, I had a similar issue, where I would get blue screen for what it looked like random reasons. It turned out that it was my msi liquid cooler was faulty, so any processes that required a spike in power, even if small, it would heat up the cpu really fast and blue screen me. After I changed it to a new one, I never got that problem again. I would suggest trying a new cpu cooler unit and see if you get blue screen again.
Either way, I hope you can figure it out soon.
Vinny's pc problems sound a lot to me like he's having a problem with the RAM. I also wouldn't trust window's in built memory testing.
"it crashes when it I play a game."
"It crashes when i transfer files windows crashes their unrelated."
When you play a game, your textures are loaded to the ram, when the ram fucks up bam crashes..
When it blue screens on restart it is 1000% ram.
When your transferring a file between hard drives it gets loaded to the the ram and then throws it to the next hdd.
Popout your ram cards and re-seat them. Could have a bad ram cars or slot.
VR Pog
Vinny thats definitely either a CPU issue or your ssd is shitting itself when its usage gets too high.
Most bluescreens I've had with my PC is usually bc of ram. I think vinny should get a kit (from a different brand - i recommend crucial but anything else is fine) and see if that works. Memory is super cheap right now and its one of the quickest things to check if thats the cause to his problems.
With Vinny explaining about the graphics, he should check out Legendary Tales with his mods or something.
climbing in blade and sorcery isn't that bad once you understand how it works. And if all else fails, spiderman climbing mod
pc problem might be bad cabels? soounds odd but worth a try
The motherboard itself was not an issue, but it was a faulty CPU, had a I7-11700K, got I5-11600k and honestly it works better for gaming for me, but it fixed the issue.
check your hard drives, it sounds like if you are having file transfer issues, it could be a potential case. Probably not but give them a look over.
Vinny try taking your RAM out and putting it back in. sometimes RAM can be in but not in all the way. it sounds like all your crashing happens during ram use issues.
why did i hear a faint is that 3d terraria in my head
Watching right handed players make my eyes feel weird
Vinny you should try to play golf with the sword and skulls on the ground next time you play this!
this came up when i searched "vinny vinesauce shin megami tensei"
When I saw the art style I immediately needed this. Too bad I only have PSVR... 😢
On that note... is there ANY way to rig up PSVR to play steam VR games? Or am I gonna have to shell out for an Index or Quest 2?
Oh man, it's crazy seeing index and Quest 2 being weighed up as if they are equal choices... The index is insanely high quality in every sense, but you could buy _three_ Quest 2s and give a hundred bucks to charity for the same price :L
There's no way to get psvr working with steam sadly, and the controllers wouldn't work with games not built for them if you could. For 300 shmeckles though (or less second hand) you can have wireless VR in any room without having to set up a dedicated VR space, and unless you have serious specs you'll probably not even push the framate/resolution limit of a Quest 2. And then you can spend the $700 you saved not buying an index however you want 😉
Just my two cents!
Those just seem like the 2 best options for VR, not including the PSVR 2 which would require a PS5 and I'm definitely not gonna get that for a while either so meh.
I love it when Vinny doesn't read anything and just ignores a bunch of chests and obvious secret rooms. Soooooo satisfying.
i built my 1st pc maybe 5 years ago and im still useing it now, and wow does ssd's kick the hard drives outta the park in boot time and ect. but after alot of uninstalling and reinstalling games on my 1tb ssd im crashing when updating game or downloading them or downloading updates. idk but i think its the ssd is on its way out. i just havent gotten another for 140 bucks to try it. :/ all i get is blue snreen :( face, and critical_error (something) and it restarts itself.
Vinny, have you considered that it may be an issue with your power supply? I know that a faulty PS can cause random shutdowns and blue screens.
One tip don’t hit the sales guy or he turned into a very hard boss
Hey Vinny, the problem you're having sounds like it might be the hard drive. You could be experiencing some severe read/write errors that're crashing the computer--it'd make sense to happen during a game and a file transfer as they're both making lots of changes to the drive at the same time. I could certainly be wrong, but I think that's what it might be.
