There's anime about Japanese version of chess called shogi. It's called 3-gatsu no Lion.
The velocity, the sound effects, the backround music, the monologue and animation, everything is flawless
During high school I was the female champion and let me tell you, it does get this intense. At 0:54 when she know it’s out, that’s real. I’ve won matches by just letting it fly. People yelling at me saying it’s in but then it’s out and I get the point. The feeling of adrenaline and sweat and your muscles all working is so intense for both you and the audience. Sometimes a match would be so intense no one would talk. My longest match was 3 hrs and 23 minutes long. My opponent and I were stuck rallying cuz we matched in skill. But I’ve also been crushed before too, the pain and sheer awe as to how better someone is then you is honestly amazing. This anime is dope

Uso Kuro sorry hun, I won’t give my name out and I highly doubt there were videos. I wasn’t the star player on my team, the boys got that title. The only video I know of that I’m in is where the star players are playing and I’m in the background court so it’s not of me. My school didn’t think highly of the sport so we never got media coverage sadly. Capable of wise tho, while o was good I’m not a prodigy or anything. Honestly I think there were 2 other girls that were better than me but our matches were on off days for them. I was trained by a previous state champ but honestly neither one of us took it that seriously. I was doing it for fun.
This becomes more impactful when it focuses on how badly Aragaki was losing. Already lost the first round and lost 21 - 0 for the second, I can tell why she was so devastated by that loss afterwards.
She got crushed but this scene speaks for itself and this anime is really nice. How hanesaki knew at 0:54 that it will go out is unbelievable
Ryder_NFL if you play a sport long enough it becomes second nature. You will see the angle and velocity of the object repeatedly and know a sweet spot or opportunity to counter.
She knew it would go out from the speed and angle it was traveling. No need to touch it.
It’s like how basketball players train themselves to shoot consistent three pointers. It’s muscle memory at its finest.
Well, you're right with that what you said but it surprised me because for people like me who played Badminton only a few times. I would have probably tried to hit it at 0:54 but only because of my very low experience with Badminton. If we would talk about a Football Anime than i wouldn't be surprised if the Ball would go out or if it would be a Goal from a impossible ankle because that's where i have way more experience
Ryder_NFL ever see competitive Chinese 🏓 Ping Pong in real life? That is the ultimate example of experience once it becomes second nature. It’s almost baffling how they keep up with each other if at all.
You were inexperienced when you first played Badminton 🏸 so you could not perceive it the way an experienced player would.

Are those even human? that was fucking crazy on that small table to play like that and yeah it was like ayanos move what that guy at 0:49 did. That small ball that is so light and how fast it changed directions. I have never seen people playing Ping Pong on such a high level

My first time searching any badminton anime(this is prob the only one right there), and I this this scene was well done. I am a badminton coach and seeing the detail from 00:40 jump smash til opponent stop to block the smash and let bird fly out is great. the movements are pretty similar what an intense game is actually going on court and the tension is high. I can say making a badminton anime is hard cause badminton movements are more dynamic/movements, compare to ball sports like tennis or table tennis. Specially for Consistent jumps and net ducks.
It took me about 3 years to discover this anime and I am glad I did it
Hopefully we get another badminton anime which is absolutely top tier. The sport deserves a lot more recognition and respect, but sadly no one in the west acknowledges its brilliance

Hanebado is a god damn piece of pure art... there's o much detail in everything, sounds animation, direction... it's just so amazing to look and hear. It HAS to win some award!

The ending and cheap forgiveness for the mother kind of ruin it a lot....
The main character's mental sanity doesn't feel earned.... It's like they wanted a force a happy ending but this didn't feel like it deserved a happy ending... I feel this animation should have ended as a tragedy with the girl basically achieving the dream but not being a positive person.... Reaching the goal but at a cost and everyone regrets....

As well as the mass, it would barely leave a mark on the ground.*
AzNightmare did you just try to apply physics to anime? The fact that there was a shockwave after she hit it made realistic physics go out the window completely. Word of advice, never try to compare real world physics to anime. It’s just not feasible.

No one that knows how a shuttlecock works would exaggerate an object of such small mass on deceleration to create a crater.*
