Sirena is part of Grupo Ramos and by far the largest hypermarket chain in the DR. They have several formats with Sirena being a Walmart type of stores. They currently have 33 Aprezio, 26 Sirena, 5 Sirena Market, 3 Super Pola, 2 Multiplaza, and 1 Gran Aprezio. Every year they open new stores around the country, so this number change yearly. All their stores get over 60 million visits a year. Yearly sales is over US$800 million. Not bad for what started in the 1960's as one store on avenida Duarte in SD and at first was a cloth selling business. The headquarters of Grupo Ramos is on top of this store on Avenida Churchill, in fact that was the first hypermarket (Walmart type) store in the DR open in 1999. They took a risk combining everything under one roof and it was a success from the start.
Walmart no hace directamente pedidos internacionales, pero la mayoría de los dominicanos usamos un courier Para pedir por internet y recibir sus paquetes en RD
In my judgment, this branch of La Sirena is wayyyy nicer than almost any Walmart here in Maryland.! Only difference, though, is that Walmart generally carries more/different products. The supermarket section is tops.!
In la Sirena I had no issues, but in other stores I had to ask permission. I'll put Casa Cuesta on my list, specially next month when they launch their Christmas decor! (Yes, we start Christmas early in DR)
I never been fan of Walmart, I grew up going to DR in la Sirena in the city is better stuff than Walmart, I'm glad that la Sirena have grown in to mall
Unfortunately we don't have a match for those two, the closest thing I could think of is "Almacenes Unidos", which has a mix of home decor, hardware and home improvement. But in my opinion, Home Depot and Lowes are wayyy superior in the home improvement aspect.
Bellón is the closest thing to a Home Depot, but they are mainly in the Santiago area including their flagship store. They even have the same colors as Hope Depot. lol
Gracias por todos tu videos, son excelentes y para lo más importante es que están en inglés que los extranjeros pueden entenderlo. Ese de San Juan mall en Punta Cana está excelente grasias.
Checked it out because of your video and to be honest it seems to be more like a pricey version of a SuperTarget, but in general the same idea. It is very nicely laid out but in general a little too pricey for me. I could just order the same things from Walmart and have em shipped and it would be cheaper still. Was looking for a pedestal fan and ended up buying one in ElectroLama in Plaza Sambil instead for way less.
Te equivocas! Tenia que ser una resentida santiaguera ustedes no tienen tiendas más grande que la capital, recuerda capital es capital lo de más monte y culebras...
Sure! The same as my channel, Purely Walking. (I really have to get better at posting on there, but yes, you can definitely DM me and I'll answer any questions)

This. I’m 22 but I lived in DR for about a year when I was 8-9. La Sirena’s honestly way nicer than any Walmart/Target I’ve ever been to.
Awesome 👏
Yeaaa
Nice, I wonder how they let you record in the store. A vide of Casa Cuesta and of a Hardware store would be nice.

What is the equivalent of home depot or Lowe’s ? I’m curious

We also used to have "Ferretería Americana" which also came close, but it recently went out of business.

@@losdominicanos interesting! I've never heard of Bellón
You forgot to mention the wine and liquor section.
me gusta para darle su bendición a los niños y ninas de nigua
La cirena has been there Way before Walmart was created. I think people have to do some research before they talk . Mean years ago! So be aware ❤
Reminds me of Ikea
