Duck Hunting Mallards in North Dakota Corn Fields

- Duck hunting in dry fields is all about adapting to changing weather conditions and where the ducks want to be. During our trip to North Dakota to hunt mallards with Muddy Dog Outdoors we experienced a wide variety of weather that forced us to always be adjusting our hunting locations. There were also large numbers of snow geese in the area that quickly depleted fresh food sources. Through our scouting we were able to locate fresh food sources that were being used by feeding flocks of mallards and the snow geese had yet to feed out.
Adapting in duck hunting can be be as drastic as changing setups from water sources to dry fields or as subtle as the way you are calling. To be successful you have to be willing to change things up. Don't be set in your ways and pay attention during scouting and the hunt as to what the ducks are showing you.
Probably one of the sickest triples captured on film
Very nice hunt!
Hell yeah, this is awesome. Very true about how gun shy and call shy the ducks get. Here in Mississippi, if you make the smallest mistake on a cadence or have your spread just a little off, you won't get many ducks in your hole at all. Cool video.
Hahaha...glad we could help! We're ready for the season too!
Another great one guys! As always cant wait for next weeks episode.
I follow you guys every year an watch you videos
Jonny Vangorder Thanks!
In the coming weeks we'll have an episode base on hunting water sources. One of those water sources will be Lake Erie and the different methods used to hunt it.
another quality video from fowled reality! strong work boys! you guys are making the off-season bearable for me!
They're barrel stickers. Just like a vehicle decal only long and narrow. Are you looking for Muddy Dog one like what's in the video?
Thanks Hunter!
Great stuff guys! LOVE YOUR VIDS!
Good shooting. Keep it up fella's!
+Tanner Lemons Thanks!

We do some hunting just off the north end of the lake near Mt. Vernon.
Northern the last part of October and first few days of November.
getting pumped up for the season watching yalls videos. Great quailty good information do yall do teal hunting also?
That would be great! But do you know if you can get them personalized or if there is a place you could buy them?
Google search for vinyl decal makers or ask around. There are a lot of people that do it out of their garage/basement. They tend to be cheaper than the web people. I can give you the name of the guy we use if you'd like?
A little too early to get fired up.. but that just did it.
Thank you Darcy! How many days till early goose and teal?
That would be great! But do you know anything about personalizing them or a place you could buy them from? I'm asking this because I am wanting to personalize my own gun and I've seen this quite often in the water fowling world and I've seen people use the Ducks Unlimited logo, their name/nickname, etc.
Hevi Metal 2's for ducks, BB's for geese.
How did you do the European mount on the duck? that looks pretty cool! I would like to do something similar.
It's molded and sold by Duck Skulls.
duck hunting here in eastern Oregon is good. Just need to know what your doing or your not gonna pull birds.
Yall have come a pretty darn long way since then and now. Really impressed. Do yall use flocked decoys? Goose or duck? I'm going to try and flocked a hole floater mallard.
PrimeTime Hunting Thanks! We've only used flocked headed geese.
What portion of ND were you hunting and what month?
How do you guys get those white vinyl sticker looking things on your guns? Yours say muddy dog or something
Theres great hunting in minnisota
Are you guys gunna have a hunt from Michigan?
We've never been down there.
why so many hens in that light & given your experience?
Do yall like it? Or do you think it's a waste of time? I hunt public timber in Arkansas so I want the best looking decoys. So I thought flocking may help. And won't have that shine that painted decoys have.
PrimeTime Hunting It definitely adds realism, but you need to be more careful with them to prevent the flocking from scuffing.
you guys ever hunt minnesota?
Love the photography. What are you filming on?
This was a Canon XH A1 and T3i.
Fowled Reality
Looks great. You own a slider too, I see. I researched your work for an episode of the show I co-produce for PBSFood. Here's the episode if you're interested:

Travis Coleman This was filmed with a Canon XH A1 and a T3i.
Where do you get your royalty free music?
About 10 different places. There are a ton of websites out there. It just takes a lot of time sifting through all of the music to find one you like.
