I caught the 70K show in the Star Lounge. They sounded great! Their performance of Because I Let You was extremely powerful and moving. You could tell that the song really affected Lena. I can’t express how much it means for artists like her to relive these moments in their lives for the benefit of their audience.
@@BelgianJasper honestly, I’m terrible with song names, plus I had a few drinks in me by that point, lol. But, Because I Let You really stood out because she said it was the first time they were playing it live and described how it affects her emotionally. The entire show was killer, and a great start to the cruise.
@@aibdrummer Have you ever heard of Korn - Daddy? That song by far, is one of the most emotional I've ever heard an artist get. Like, Jonathan Davis released that song in 1994, and refused to play it live because of just how painful it was until 2015, I think he's only played it like 1 or 2 more times? And he had a mental breakdown even on stage performing it... even in the song itself, he kept the last 3-4 minutes included in the song which was him literally breaking down in the studio. Kudos to Jonathan, though, he's such an amazing man.
I've only found Lena about a year ago, and, I don't regret it. I listened to almost all of her music, even her other band, Death Dealer Union. She's an insanely beautiful soul, I absolutely love how down to earth and sweet she is, and I also love her extended fangs! I heard the new album and it was just simply amazing, "Because I Let You" really struck me, like whoever hurt this amazing woman, they shall be condemned for eternity. But outside of the pain from that song, I'm speechless with how the music video for "Because I Let You", like, I can't tell if the stomach ripped open was a CGI edit or if she wore one of those like... idk what they're called, whatever that special material people use for face masks where they make it seem like your skin is ripping off and bloody, you know what I'm trying to say lol 😅🤣 but anyway, I'm so happy to be a fan of them! Right now my favorite female led powerhouses in metal are (not in any specific order): Spiritbox, JINJER, IN THIS MOMENT, INFECTED RAIN/Death Dealer Union, and Face Yourself. It amazes me to hear a woman be able to actually tap into their false chord and sound damn near close to a male's voice. I always used to just hear Fry screams coming from women :D I would add CEREBRAL BORE to the list, but, they've been disbanned for a few years now soo.
I liked your question about singing a painful song, I alwayls think with myself if I'll be able to do it, and the answer of Lena was just humble and sincere. Nice interview👏🏻
Lena is an incredible and humble and beautiful talent and quickly becoming a powerhouse frontwoman and a favourite of mine, Jasper. This band is gonna make big waves. Hope they can do a lot of touring.
Holy shit. I totally get that, Lena really worded it in a way I wasn't thinking about. The whole idea of detaching ourselves from traumas thinking we are past them but then they hit us later. I always like to think I am stronger than them until they just come and cause me to be super unreliable as a person idk. Like people expect you to act a certain way without seeing the holes in your heart that are bleeding out as you are reaching out to help them because you see them hurting but not yourself. Like Arch Enemy got me into this genre of screaming metal to begin with but they were always more uplifting and positive. Then like you have Infected rain and I really like how much more grounded in emotions it is. I like to just drown sometimes in the melody. I also love the shift of tone and tempo half way through a song to convey a feeling of guilt it feels like. Its like when shit hits the fan and you are realizing it hit the fan kinda thing. I still love Arch Enemy a lot and they were and still are amazing but I really love Infected Rain I really hope this band keeps going for as long as they can.
I saw you as opener for Dragonforce and Amaranthe in Oberhausen. Although this type of metal is not my favorite, you completely convinced me and most of the other fans. Elena is really impressive.
people never forget how “it went” or “how they are treated” and that’s without a doubt. I donno bout anyone else but, seems to me (I do not kno her in days other than what I do).. but to me.. that’s a form of “breaking the chains” so to speak. I wish I could get this comment out the way I would like but, oh well lol Great Band
@@BelgianJasper I'm expecting it this Thursday. I've only heard 5 songs from it, so much of it will be a surprise. I got Death Dealer Union last fall, and have listened to it dozens of times. Highly recommend.
Unfortunately Infected Rain is not my cup of coffee musically, but this interview was really interesting. I only would like to say, as for me things that happened in my life and affected me really strong in many ways, I can somehow forget them, at some point let them go, but never forgive. And the second thing, seeing emotions of the artists on stage is pricless. Maybe for some crying it's not beautiful (yeah, we look rather ugly while crying), but it means that music/lyrics was not written, because "we need to record something", but there is more behind the scenes, something real and I always appreciate this.
Thank you for sharing that! I appreciate you watching the interview with an open mind even if you don't particularly like the music (with 700 videos on the channel or so, I don't expect anyone to like all the artists' music 👊😉)
Inattendu : Slaughter to prevail. J'ai cherché si tu avais interviewé Alex, rien trouvé. Peut-être à l'avenir ?😀)
@@BelgianJasper and to play, in classroom on friday afternoon (when students are over over overexcuted), some gentle ambient music like Fairy musics or so ...believe it or not, that CALMS DOWN the 'monsters' ! ! !😉
She did not say specifically but the song appears to be inspired by both trauma from her childhood in a broken home and her unhealthy marriage that ended a few years ago

When you can feel the songwriters emotions through their music, there is nothing more pure and beautiful to me.
