Why didn’t they have a personal shopper for this. I would have preferred it more if they were all taken shopping with a stylist and then had to wear the outfits that actually fit the rules
Well mostly it was the black/blazer rule because nobody owns a blazer that’s not black in Cali. And they aren’t gonna buy 3 different color blazers to do this challenge. It just shows how hard it is to do it when A) climate is so different and B) you don’t have millions to buy whatever you want in the color you want.
It's not really that hard to do? I mean, other than the hose and no slacks without a cardigan or blazer thing it's really not all that out there by, like, business casual standards. I mean, if you're not even going to try why bother? Giving up on day two is just sad.
the royals break the rules every now and then too. you have to work with what you have and it's not like they can just go and buy new clothes just for a week's challenge. chloe and destinee actually tried hard though

Exactly! I dress like that to work every single day. That's why I feel like this video was a total flop. Then again, it's not fair because that's not their dress code and style. It's easy for me to say because I'm already doing it.
well buzzfeed let their employees dress comfortably unlike other companies, so they wouldnt have to bother about dress codes really. i would assume they wouldn't have that many formal articles of clothing because why would they? but its great seeing them try to follow dress codes and styles from different places.
@@Cat-in7nm I used to have mainly black trousers but now I own more Grey trousers or green and red ones. Mainly grey, I have one which goes from dark grey to a white-blue colour.
They should've been given a little cash money to fill in the gaps in their wardrobe, even if it was just to pick up a blazer or skirt at the thrift shop.
The thing is, the royals have people who buy these clothes for them, and since they must adhere to these rules every day, all they own are these clothes. The general public, particularly those who work somewhere as lax as Buzzfeed, don't often own these types of heavy, covered clothes.
Two of them actually tried, I gotta say that I probably don't have the wardrobe to make a nice 'royal' outfit myself especially for a week. I'm a pants person with dark blazers....
Tops and bottoms are typically about $3-5 at a thrift shop. To buy $8 outfits for 5 days would be $40, but they wouldn't even need to spend that, considering they already have some pieces they could match. Another option would be to ask to do some clothing swaps with (or borrow from) a coworker or friend who is a similar size. That wouldn't even cost anything.
Happy Fun Granted. However, even as a broke@$$ college student with a budget of $100 per annum for clothing, I do better than this. I was kinda let down. I expected more of an actual effort on the part of all the participants.
It depends on what clothes you usually wear I think. For me it would be very difficult, as I don't own any blazers and just one long-sleeve dress that isn't short.
I feel like people who work in non-buzzfeed places have to follow some of those rules in general--no midriffs, things can't be sleeveless, skirts must be longer. I think the harder parts would be the rule about black, the rule about trousers having to always be paired with a blazer or cardigan, and the rule about pantyhose. Overall, I don't think it would be too hard to follow these rules. I don't get why they couldn't do it.
Not using what you already own I honestly wouldnt have passed a single day with my current wardrobe. My church attire has less rules. The only skirts and dresses I own are club dresses and I wear trousers most of the time and own not a single cardigan and only one black blazer 🤷♀️ I wouldve had to buy a new wardrobe personally and rather not spend hundreds for a week challenge unless the company is reimbursing me

I feel like As/Is gets A LOT less funding then Ladylike because they always buy new things for videos, whereas As/Is doesnt. Aside from that, I think Chloe and Destinee nailed it!
One rule that royals have is that they have to have an all black outfit with them when they travel in case someone dies. That was because the Queen herself was traveling when she got news that her father had died. She had to go home not wearing the appropriate mourning clothes because she had not taken any with her.
although there were some rules broken (especially by selorm), destinee did amazing! she pulled off every look and added accessories that really put the outfit together.
I loved most of the British woman's tops, dresses, and skirts! So pretty! She did a good job. Its something I would wear if I had the money to buy them and would need the confidence since I'm more of a casual person.
My biggest problem with those rules is the hemline. Even if I buy an intentionally longer skirt it would be too short on me because I am like 70% leg. A 'long' skirt or dress usually hits be an inch or two above the knee. Guess it's a good thing they have money so they can afford the appropriate wardrobe and also have it suit their body.
"I'm used to wearing crop tops and just kind of not giving a crap most of the time, and so I really had to present myself better..."-Selom Sis. SIS. You just confirmed what we were all thinking. Come on. I'm rooting for you!

I don't know jack about royal rules regarding accessories but Selorm girl, your first day outfit need to get accessorized! little pearl earrings or a simple long thin necklace. also instead of wearing a black innie, would be nice to wear something like big scarf as an innie or outie to cover the chest area. but your orange jumpsuit and purple pants are bomb!
I would get kicked out of the royal line cause i cannot follow all them rules 😭😭
I love how Jasmine throws hats and small reflective glasses on everything
chloe: "this skirt was actually really easy to bike in because it's sO LONG"
skirt: *not even knee length*
"people were like omg who r u....…
And I was like *royalty* " that had me dying😂😂😂
Royal fasion rules...Well Meghan has broke them many a time
I think this vid also somehow defends her. Cos it seems hard for them to follow royal dress code rules.
Especially if you are new to the rules, and you grew up valuing fashion identity without them.
There is knew to the rules and not knowing. Then there is new to the rules and still want to do it their way anyway.
@@RainWalking and so what its clear shes trying she wasnt raised that way and is only bothering for the man she loves and truthfully the rules are outdated and not some law even necessary.
Sorry how is not following the rules, actually bothering? She knows what the rules are and many times have broken them and her mother is law does not like it.
Lmao “and now announcing our new princess of Genovia” 😂😂😂
And this is why I love Maya ❤️🤗
“Not business casual. Business... beautiful.”
“Oh my godddd who are you???”
ROYALTY. 😂❤️👏🏼💯
Chloe sounds like royalty..😂❤️
I understand that they are showing it's hard to do, but they could have bought/borrowed a bright brazer
2:40 *out of nowhere,* "U didn't think I looked cute!"😂
Chloe is goals! She nailed the challenge! Girl.. More power to you!
I feel like As/Is gets A LOT less funding then Ladylike because they always buy new things for videos, whereas As/Is doesnt. Aside from that, I think Chloe and Destinee nailed it!
That yellow dress outfit was BOMB!!!!
No black during the day?! I wear black all the tome 😂😂
One rule that royals have is that they have to have an all black outfit with them when they travel in case someone dies. That was because the Queen herself was traveling when she got news that her father had died. She had to go home not wearing the appropriate mourning clothes because she had not taken any with her.
Destinee killed it! She looked so good and so confident in all her outfits. Slayyyyy
Chloe is so cute!
although there were some rules broken (especially by selorm), destinee did amazing! she pulled off every look and added accessories that really put the outfit together.
they didn't look royal at all, like, not even close.. they should have gone for a classic british look, while applying these rules
the last two outfits from Selorm are gorgeous, Chloe’s second to last was amazing as well
They say they don't care what they're wearing but they all didn't even try with this challenge (Selorm especially)
I loved most of the British woman's tops, dresses, and skirts! So pretty! She did a good job. Its something I would wear if I had the money to buy them and would need the confidence since I'm more of a casual person.
Her: This skirt was really easy to bike in, because it's so long
Me: It really isn't
My biggest problem with those rules is the hemline. Even if I buy an intentionally longer skirt it would be too short on me because I am like 70% leg. A 'long' skirt or dress usually hits be an inch or two above the knee. Guess it's a good thing they have money so they can afford the appropriate wardrobe and also have it suit their body.
Ahh this is such a good video idea 😍🎀❤️
"I'm used to wearing crop tops and just kind of not giving a crap most of the time, and so I really had to present myself better..."-Selom
Sis. SIS. You just confirmed what we were all thinking. Come on. I'm rooting for you!
GIVE CHLOE A RAISE AND FIRE SELORM+
The white top and patterned floral skirt was lovely! Especially with the pastel shoes on her skin. I also love the white leaf skirt and brown top and boots. Great on the skin tone of the other girl. I just prefer more modest shirts and a great pant so I loved this.
I love these types of videos, keep up the good work guys!
Destinee LITERALLY KILLED RHIS FRIGGIN CHALLENGE AND CHLOE AND SELORM I LOVE THIS 😂😂😂💖💖💖
