Mestre Cobra Mansa talks about the development of capoeira from the beginning to the present day, and comments on Helinä Rautavaara Museum's photograph collection from Brazil.

We can see many Capoeira's pictures, pieces of the collection of the museum (Mestre Pastinha, Mestre Waldemar, Mestre Pelé, Mestre Caiçara, Mestre Gato Preto, Mestre Camafeu de Oxhossi...)
Ms. Helinä Rautavaara, MA (1928-1989, Finland) made a career in documenting foreign cultures and religions. After majoring from the university in psychology, she travelled outside Europe as a reporter during the 1950s and 1960s. She continued studies in psychology in the USA. In 1960s and 1969-71 Ms. Rautavaara spent several years in Brazil as researcher collecting material, such as these interviews, for a dissertation on Afro-Brazilian religions. Later on, she collected material from Africa and Jamaica. Her collections from four continents reside in Helina Rautavaara Museum, Espoo, Finland. See more: helinamuseo.fi
