So living and getting a feel of country first in Amsterdam and then moving next year outside that is something we are planning.

I think this is possible, the only thing is till you get BSN you wont be able to register yourself at municipality and if house owner is ok to et you stay in house i don't see any other problem with this.

generally amsterdam/ amstelveen is costlier then others, dieman. almere . velseen will be lot more cheaper
