Hi Rob, this is what I use to digitize 35mm Slides if you are interested. Install on the OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera in order: 1. 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens. 2. 46mm-58mm Step-Up Adapter Ring. 3. Pixco M58-M58/M (36mm-90mm) Adjustable Extension Tube. 4. 58mm-52mm Step-Down Adapter Ring. 5. Nikon Slide Copying Adapter ES-1. Adjust the extension tube and ES-1 for full 35mm slide coverage and focus. Set E-M1 Mark II camera to manual mode with proper exposure for the light being used.
Thanks again for another great video. I have a 60mm F/2.8 macro lens, I am not too sure how to use the dial on the side of lens, could explain the correct way to use it outside, and would I ever need to use extention tubes with this lens?
I don't own that lens, so can't say for sure. But I think that dial is for limiting focus range. As for extension tubes, I've heard others attach them with success.
Hi Rob, what a great video. What size reverse mount ring would I need to buy if not using the step up rings? My camera is the ME10 mkii with kit lens. Reason I ask is because amazon has no stock for the 52mm. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Thanks. You'll need to get some step rings to fit the kit lens 37mm filter thread. Then find an available reverse ring that will thread into the step rings. You could also just hold the lens against the lens mount.
Gee whiz, Rob, I'd forgotten all about extension tubes. What a great suggestion for people wanting to try macro without a huge outlay. Think I might go buy some extension tubes myself. I had been eying the 60mm macro lens, but now I can buy more beer instead. Thanks, Rick Bear
What do you think of using enlarger lenses as macro lenses, especially for extreme macrography? I've been using two that I have, a Durst Neonon 50mm f2.8 and a Rodenstock Rodagon 80mm f4 and I like the results very much. So, besides using "normal" reverted lenses, I think this is also an excellent and cheap alternative of capturing macros without purchasing actual macro lenses
Excellent instruction, Rob. Very clear and easy to follow.
Thank you.
I am not into macro but I watched this to the end. Amazing tutorial, Great work, Rob.
Thanks, Plato.

Thanks, John. Looks like a fast way to digitize slides.
This is a great video. BTW your macro work is getting better and better.
Thanks. I try.
Amazing explanation! Just one question, the 17.3 that you use in the division calculation, cames from where? Thanks
Thanks. The sensor is 17.3 mm wide.
Great tutorial about my favourite kind of photography.
Thank you!
Great tutorial for macro photography.
Thanks, David.

Thanks, Roy. Nice having you in the live stream too!

Thanks, Rick. I've never had the urge to get the 60mm macro after using tubes.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
My pleasure
Very interesting video indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Wahab.
I just received my extension tubes and they do get in pretty close! Did you make the bracket for the phone to video the back? Thanks!
I used a flash bracket. I think I got you in the live stream. Thanks.
How do you get a denominator of 17.3 when calculating the magnification factor?
That is the width of the m4/3 sensor. It would be different for aps-c and full frame.

I've never used enlarger lenses but I hear there are some gems out there. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Thanks, Liz. Nice having you in the live streams too!
Beginners guide to the Mark lll--soon?
Yes, I can do that. Many have been asking. Thanks.
Great video but I hate the idea of using a lens backwards
Thanks. Yeah, it's not ideal but a viable option.
