I went to Westwood Village Cemetery twice. I had to drop off my mother in law at LAX Airport so I stopped by that Cemetery. I took a brief video of all crypts immediately surrounding Marilyn's. I have to say this. There is a famous and notable performer located 2 rows directly above Marilyn. Gitta Alpar. Gitta Alpar was an international vocalist and opera performer. She was performing in both Europe and America long before Marilyn had her start, and she died years after Marilyn. I've seen many videos of visits to Marilyn's grave. But oddly enough, no one besides me has ever mentioned Gitta Alpar, or even noticed her crypt. But she was quite famous too. She was a talented and prolific singer in her day.
On nonmilitary headstones coins, especially pennies, are favored by those who wish to demonstrate that the deceased has not been forgotten. A nickel means you went to school together, a dime that you worked together and a quarter that you were there when they died.
Oh Natalie 💔 Zak Bagans has an entire room dedicated to her at his Haunted Museum in Vegas. I don't think I'll ever unsee the candles. They were candles from the boat one unlit and one melted down that allegedly was blown out when they realized she was gone 💔💔💔

According to the internet.....here is the meaning of coins on the gravestone. "A coin left on a headstone lets the deceased soldier's family know that somebody stopped by to pay their respect. A penny means you visited. A nickel means you and the deceased veteran trained at boot camp together. A dime means you and the deceased veteran served together in some capacity." If your ever in NY, Calvary Cemetery is beautiful. The view you have of NYC is stunning. Its been in so many movies Cruel Intentions, Zoolander, Godfather, Winters Tale to name a few.
