Alexisonfire performing Happiness By The Kilowatt live at Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on 11 December 2012, recorded exclusively by Moshcam.
Alexisonfire rose up out of the Southern Ontario underground in late 2001 like some monstrous and utterly captivating car-accident-in-progress. Hitting the ground with an immediate full head of steam, Dallas Green, George Pettit, Wade MacNeil, Chris Steele and Jordan Hastings have not only impressed the critics with their sour/sweet approach to performance and writing, but are recognized for their stellar musicianship, and the palpably pent-up tightness of the band live.
In August 2011, George posted a message to fans on the band's official website stating that with the departure of two members, Alexisonfire would issue several special releases and complete a farewell tour before parting ways. In terms of farewells, it was a fittingly fierce one. After ten years together, Canadian post-hardcore kings Alexisonfire called it a day in 2011, but they weren't going out without a helluva party and one last tour. Australia was lucky enough to be one of just four countries they'd visit and Moshcam was lucky enough to capture their searing swansong in Sydney.

the new part that dallas puts into this song is fucking 10/10
I thought this song couldn't be better.

There are bands that produce music that sound like other bands. That's not a bad thing.
But no other band comes close to Alexisonfire's sound!
Oh and I was at this show!
please listen to sinema and their newest album “fear of the fall” i need an ogs opinion on if they sound somewhat similar to aiof
There's always the one spot in a band you dream of playing in, but gosh if every position in Alexisonfire isn't an envy
Drug addict , shouty vocal waste of space .. good guitar , good drums ... I can see why he left and released himself.
2004 and still love this song!
I love you all!!!- Thank you all for bringing me such joy and saving my life time and time again....
love this live version ...rocks
I just saw them last week in chicago. Amazing as always
Sad days lonely nights was a great addition to this song. Especially given that song is kind of based off of the euphio context.
I was at AOF's second-last show in Toronto on December 30th, 2012. Problem is, this was before I fell in love with the band and was emotionally impacted by them, or even knew any of the songs from "Watch Out!" for that matter. I'd do anything to go back 6 months in time and go through all the shit that I have in life for a second time around, all to catch them play Happiness By The Kilowatt as their final song
They are playing again - in 2022. Check out their website for tour dates and venues.
How many shirts do you think George tore that day?
the best parts of this band carrying on playing ... and the rest just fall apart
City and colour ;)
Fucking beautiful
4:14 to 4:30
So good...
Can't even believe there was a Busch ad that butted in between this song. Fuck me. Amheiser is fucked. Drink local. Support ur community
Who is the guy with the blackened out eyes in the background mural?
🤘🤘🤘🤘
This is just horrible horrible...... saad!! Best influence in my life, the era is over :/
Dallas, I love you man, but why at the 4:52 mark you throw in your City & Colour stuff with Alexisonfire stuff? It looks like this is what caused the breakup..you couldn't differentiate between the two..
can't you see that this is what makes alexisonfire alexisonfire?
No, city & colour isnt what made alexisonfire..its the other way around..
ha its not like he threw it in last minute.. this was pre orchestrated and added to emphasise how epic the song is. That section adds another level to the song. You class it as city and colour because dallas sings and plays guitar, by that logic then most of AOF's songs are city and colour. y'all silly
Lol do you even know what he is singing? It's a classic blues track called 'Sad days, lonely nights' absolutely no relation to C&C. They have done the extra jam in the middle of Happiness since the Crisis tour, sometimes Dallas sang an improvised/external verse like he does here, and sometimes Wade even did. It's just a band taking liberties with their live performance and it sounds amazing.
Lol, it has no relation? City & Colour is a folk and blues rock band guy. Dallas needs to learn to keep AOF and City & Colour seperated. This is probably why they broke up in the first place.
I can't stand the woos....
The first time they put a commercial in the middle of a song, UA-cam was never the same. It’s like putting a math equation in the middle of sex.
That is a great analogy

After I lost my step-bro, I spent the whole night moshing alone, but I realized I wasn't alone.. I was part of a crowd of people who were having the best nights of their lives. When they played Happiness by the Kilowatt, the Moshing in the spot I was at just stopped, and me and this group of like 19 year-olds in dress shirts just sat there, screamed the words, and me & this dude.. Me and this total stranger just fucking cried together. "This is not a funeral.. This is a fucking celebration..."
i don't think I'll ever get over the fact that I missed the farewell tour
i feel you.
join the club
dude i live on Chile ... they play on brazil and i didnt go .... now dallas is going to play on march here in Chile ... but ... ITS.NOT.THE.FUCKING.SAAAAME : (
i know...i love him but the energy//sound is different, i miss it so much
+strikerchile dude AOF got back together
One of the best finales ever
What an amazing fucking end to a such beautiful story. I'm so grateful that you guys existed, made music. You have been a mirror to my inner voice, and you will. Cosmos bless you.
So.... im a loser because I am a MASSIVE Dallas fan and have only just started listening to Alexisonfire. Fucking gutted. They are the shit, there is not one band in my life that tops their amazing music.
Jealous of everyone who got to see them live, if only my ears had been graced with this music a few years ago.....
It's ok they're still making music.
They just toured Brazil in March 2022. The boys are back
When you get hit with a wave of melancholic nostalgia... i hate it.
Love it AND hate it.
badadadaad WOOOOO badadadadad WOOOOO!
I love how this song is so minimal but yet so full at the same time. I mean, listen to it, so empty, single notes, lots of distortion - but yet so full. AOF for life
Theonlybandever.
6:14 I guess after George says '' I can't believe this is it '' Man, just look at his face.
brings me tears that face, man =/
@@viniciusienne1385 yeah but then other things happened
deep man fuck that was heavy
this shit is literally incredible..like...wtf i wish i could write music as good as this.
Don't think I've ever been so angry at an individual than I was at Dallas splitting them up. Thank fuck everything is normal again. ❤️
one of the best live songs I've heard
this video hits so hard in the feels.
Chris Stelle's face at 0:39 pretty much sums up Alexisonfires break up

kswitch360 Announced today.
please do a reunion in the states
And to those that think it is over and it's sad. Well think of it this way, as long as we still listen to our favorite songs and remember the shows then this band will never die. We as fans are the heart of every band we like. As long as we still beat then Alexis lives on :)
Wow. What a performance
3:48 Amazing.
O dia que esses caras voltarem vai ser o dia mais feliz da minha vida!
Pode comemorar então
The Hamilton show was the best party I've ever been to. The very first chords in Young Cardinals, me and my step-bro looked at eachother like "This is gonna be one long fucking night" because of all the moshing. When the actual song started, we were separated within seconds. Didn't see him until the end of the show, except for when I lost one of my shoes, and bumped into him. He noticed, and 10 minutes later I bumped into him and lucky enough, he had my shoe. He had to punch someone in the face.
The commercial right in the middle of the video what the fuck is going on!!😡
Cry everytime :(
True bro
Genuinely bored with trying to figure if these guys are gonna be a thing anymore. But we'll always have this
One of those songs that's so much better live
so happy I got to see them again at stampede last night. it made me feel like a teenager again 😂
Do yourself a favor and listen to his side project.
Damm I wish I had a Chance to see them live :'( hopefully if my band gets famous I can play some of their songs at concerts! I already play their songs at gigs!!!
Dallas Green (aka City and Colour on his solo acoustic stuff) is the guitarist/singer, George Pettit is the lead singer (screamer)
Saw them at the 3rd Toronto show, lost my voice for the next 3 days. They will always mean so much to me....
Best band ever. They will be back my friends. When I met them, I remember George making jokes about if they we broke up that they would show up every few years for a reunion show.
This aged well lol
i wish this was the version they recorded for their album i like how he added the blues song into it
Check out the iTunes original version
Wade is such a good guitarist
Alexisonfire are something special.
Can't wait too see u guys again
This... this makes me emo af.
The first song iv seen with tapping that doesn't sound cheesy

This is so untight/slow. But I still love this band!

Thank you moshcam!!!
The only band ever.
This is a great song and an awesome performance!
Damn it doesn't get much better than Dallas vocals..
Their best song ever
Just fucking reunite again pls :'
how? Hamilton was amazing. Moneen on accidents, that johnny mitchel guy on dogs blood, 24 song set list, dallas' last speech, wade smashes his guitar, the very last show aspect.
Best song ever! Will miss these guys :( really wished I saved up to go over the ditch to see them
Who's here because they just announced another tour
Why are their commercials in this!!!?? Amazing performance
I've met him 3 times, each time he's been such a sound guy! shared a beer with him the second time i met him..... definitely not a douche bag
Amazing band, with unique sound, with a guy with one of the most beautiful voice in the world.... Sad its over...
3:33 did the bassist just puke in the singers face?
Dude.. those fucking woos...
I miss them :'(
In a tangle of wires
Everything went wrong.......
in a hail of sparks
in a tangle of wires
everything went wrong
wow!
He went through about three in one song, but I can't remember what one
Alexisonfire what are you doing to me
City and Colour for sure! Seeing him In Melbourne next month - cannot wait!! x
Best fucking song ever.
That was some serious for shame drumming. Wow
I think Wade just crucified his guitar :/
I don’t remember that part of the song.
Don't know his name, but the singer was amazing.
Listen to City And Colour. Same guy :]
My guess is probably 9-12.
Can you Make this a full videoooo?
'Can't believe this is it...' :(
kind of flat
Such an amazing emotional band. Love them
Soooooooooooooo Good !!!
