  • The world's biggest gold miner, Newmont, says its $28 billion takeover of Australian gold and copper producer Newcrest means it's now the world's fourth biggest miner overall. President and CEO Tom Palmer rang in the start of the trading session ahead of the stock's debut on the ASX today. He told The Business' Kirsten Aiken the company is keen to diversify more into copper and wanted to see the commodity added to the federal government's critical minerals list.
