- Long before there were Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders or any other drill team, there were The Kilgore College Rangerettes, the first women's precision drill team in the world. We head to the Rangerette Museum in Kilgore, TX to learn of this legacy that began in 1940, and I find out if I have what it take to become a Rangerette.

The daytripper needs to make texas monthly he is on PBS but I like the rangerettes.
Technically, the high school drill team “Flaming Flashes” was the first drill team Miss Davis formed in 1928. I was a member of this drill team several years ago, and that is how we were always introduced as we entered the field. The Rangerettes came as a result, and are a far more famous and well-known drill team. So, I can see how they would get the credit for being first.
