Thank you Teresa for your awesome video. Glad you are recovering from your hip surgery. It must be a long and slow process. I've had to take an early retirement from my job of 23 years in retail due to osteoarthritis in both of my knees .I really don't want knee replacement so I stay off of my feet a lot and cross stitch of course everyday,7 days a week, and 365 days a year. I also like to knit and quilt in between lol.I really wish you well going back to work and pray you and your beautiful girls adjust as easily as possible. Oh Little Teresa, I am wishing you all the best as you return to work and the long commute. Makes for such a long day. It will take some time to adjust. Take care not to overdo and take all the time you need to adjust. We will always be here when you are able to return. I watch Karen The Needlebug Stitcher and she has gridded her own fabric. You might want to check with her. I think it would be extremely difficult to stitch without the grid. It would involve a lot more work to begin with but may save time in the long run. Who knows? I don’t know if this is an omen but I am wearing a Bahamas Atlantis shirt right now. I would definitely do a floss toss to see how the colors work with each fabric. In the meantime, maybe the called for fabric will turn up!! Yeah, right. What are the chances of that happening? Bon Bon and Honey are extremely well behaved. They are adorable. I love the afrodite for the maiden, feel the more green fabric fits a little bit better (in my opinion). I’m so happy that I don’t need to get back to the office. I can continue working remote as long as I want :) I only have 25-30 min door to door so wouldn’t have time to stitch on the train anyhow… So it’s nice I can stitch a couple of hours before going the few steps into the office ;)
I would go with the Atlantis fabric. I like that it’s a bit darker and I think that would help the really dark navy colors and the skin tones pop on the fabric.

It’s the 15th July and here in Tucson, Arizona USA it’s 108f our high is supposed to be 110f. As usual at this time of year, it’s supposed to be monsoon season, but we haven’t had but a whisper of rain. Have to say after hearing your review of Pinchips, I ordered a set for DMC. They have blanks as well so in a few months, I’ll order a couple sets of 50 for my silks and overdyed flosses. I think I need to see how they work with my oddities. Stay cool, and as always, your stitching is beautiful.
Well I think the Atlantis fabric looks more like the fabric shown with the pattern I think you would like the Aphrodite fabric better because you have a lot of pink in what you like to stitch. I think a floss toss is an order in order to make a better decision. I don’t think you could go wrong with either fabric. Your girls grew up so fast! They were so good while you were filming. Going back to work after 3 years at home is going to require a new mind set. I like to say “ I get to into work” instead of “I have to go into work”. Just changing that simple sentence, changes my mindset. Enjoy your retreat and visiting with your stitchy friends.
I vote for Atlantis, it comes across as a richer color on my monitor. Sharkystitcher has that maiden as one of her wips and she has a fabulous stash of fabrics to drool over. On the fabric choice, I don’t think you would go wrong with either one, but I agree with you, the Atlantis one looks more like the picture. I think it looks better than the pink one. So my vote is for the greener one. Happy stitching!

I'd be in another state to go that far if east or south here in bonnie Iowa, USA. Here we have what I lovingly call Rush Minute...where you may literally have to wait a minute to cross the highway when work gets out in the afternoon. Growing up close to Chicago, I get it with travel into the city, but I have lived in Iowa so long I can't stand crowds. Give me open roads and uncrowded streets and sidewalks. Lol. My age is starting to show.
I think you need to get the floss out and lay them on the fabric. The pinky purple might get lost a bit with the first fabric. The second might be pretty close to her tail color but since she's got dark fins and frills around the edges I think it will be ok. Either would work but I think if it was me the blue green one looks more like actual ocean

Hi Teresa, Give yourself some grace as far as the adjustment of getting back into the office. I like the Atlantis fabric but, you may wish to pull the threads and lay them against both pieces to be absolutely sure. 💕💕
I’d pick Atlantis as it brings out the turquoise/green in the tail. However, I think you should look at the colour of the tendrils coming off her to check they’re not going to disappear into the background. Good luck with the commute - 4 hours a day travelling is hard so be kind to yourself when you feel tired.
Another vote for Atlantis - and I’m off to try and buy some as I have this chart and have been wondering hat to choose! Can’t wait to see your start on it ☺️

My birthday is July 24 (sorry you go back to work the next day but you’ll do fine once you get use to it again!) and I’m going to get this same design I’m calling Tabbathia as my gift. Atlantis for me too! Good luck going back to the rat race, a few days in it will feel like you’ve never been away! I’ve been on long term sick twice in the last 4/5 yrs and found this to be the case on both occasions! Thanks for finding the time to update us all, enjoy the lovely weather in the meanwhile x
Hi Theresa! I would definitely do a floss toss of the flos used for her body to make sure that those colors pop out depending on which one you use. Both pieces are beautiful!!!! Then I would pick.
Hi Teresa, Atlantis, for sure! It's a bit darker and I think the tail will be fine. It's surrounded by other colours and for the most part it's lighter then the fabric, so it should be fine, right? Enjoy stitching on her, she's gorgeous! Joanita 🌷

I think the Aphrodite looks more like the called for fabric and the pinky-purple splotches seem to flow better with the called-for threads. The Atlantis seems to have a bit too much green in it to be harmonious with the threads. I’m sure whatever you pick will be wonderful. Good luck heading back to work!
The 2nd fabric is a lagoon blue where you see thru the water and see the plant life. The first fabric is more nebula like (space), you don't see pinks in the oceans and waterways of the world unless it's in trouble. The fabric in the picture relates more to the depths of the ocean. What kind of feeling are you going for? Water or ethereal? Other? That's the perspective. Let me know the thought process on the story and I'll try and answer your question. Also I'll get my color genius husband to give his input. (He sees over 60,000 colors, hues, and tones, color specialist.)
Atlantis reminds me more of the ocean than the other one. I love Atlantis!! It was so nice to stitch with you again. I was working on my GB sampler that I started for the crew retreat I went to with you all. Yes I am still working on it, bit I did have a few years!! 😲 of not stitching. Back at it and your one of the very few that have kept up with flosstube. Hope you have a wonderful summer and glad to see your recovering so nicely.

I like the blue one more than the green. When you hold it up the tail of the mermaid on the blue stands out more than on the green as the tail looks more like the green fabric colour on camera and If it was my project I would like the mermaid to stand out more than the fabric myself.🧜🏼♀️❤️

Definitely the Atlantis Teresa.It looked perfect at our side of the video, it's fabulous and it is very like the South Pacific seas here down under. Around the Fijian, New Caledonian Islands the sea is spectacular colour.Love all your WIP's, Queen BonBons and Honey are adorable.
I can see using the Atlantis. I think it’s the better choice because it’s darker. The concern I would have is with the color of the floss on her tail. It looks almost identical. Hopefully it won’t be lost. Both are nice fabrics though. Tough choice.

I think Atlantis. Although given color changes with monitors etc so look at the threads on the fabric. From what I see the colors will be more vibrant on Atlantis.
OMGosh! Yes on the gridding!! I'm working on a HAED using 28ct gridded fabric. Prior to this project, the highest count I used was 18ct aida. I'm so scared to try non-gridded high count fabric on other projects.
On the fabric choice, the bottom (tail portion) popped more on the Aphrodite fabric but they are both gorgeous. I love the tea cup pattern!! I collect tea cups and saucers so I love any tea cup pattern. They are a fave!! I know it will be hard to return to work after being home.
I love both fabrics, but Atlantis was beautiful. You are my favorite flosstube channel. I'm happy to see you much better, sorry you have to go back to work in London. In time you will get use to it again. You are looking Gorgeous as always. Love your chatelaine, you are starting to enable me to purchase one. Happy stitching and enjoy the sunshine. 😊

The Atlantis looks more like the ocean but the Aphrodite fabric would make the tail stand out more... I love the pinks in it and would pick that one. I also like how it compliments the coral. But both would work very well!
Whichever you stitch on will be beautiful. At first I thought the Atlantis fabric as more of an ocean feel to it and Aphrodite has more or a sky feel to it to me. Had another look as got distracted first time of watching and wonder if putting the threads against the fabric might help? I'm now confused as to which I prefer - sorry

I have to tell you, I have spent the past month and a half watching your videos from the beginning. You have certainly put me through an emotional roller coaster. In a month you gone from being a new stitcher to an old pro. You have had several birthdays and surgeries. I have cried tears of sorrow and happiness with you. I am pretty much drained. Thanks for sharing all of your life with us. Wonderful projects love. I like the aphrodite best. It is a lighter shading which will let the colors of the stitching stand out.

I personally liked the colours in the Atlantis fabric, very in keeping with the ocean. So I will be interested to see what you decide upon. I’d pick Atlantis, I just think the other one might be too light and would make the lighter turquoise of her body pop out rather than the darker which would draw the eye more evenly. I don’t know if that explains it right but that’s what I’d pick. I wish you could stay and work from home and I’m hoping the movement of the train doesn’t actually make your pain increase at first🥺. Your stitching looks great , so many gorgeous projects, enjoy your retreat. Just hoping going back to work goes smoothly🤞🙋🏼♀️🥰
Choices are so hard aren’t they?! 🤪 I think I would lean to the Atlantis colour because it’s reading a bit darker overall than the other one and that seems to be more in keeping with the picture. But…both are gorgeous! ☀️♥️☀️
Of the two fabrics I liked the Atlantis better. However, you might try the coffee:tea dye over the other fabric to darken it up on the pink/blue if the lightness of it bothers you….

Both fabrics are beautiful, but I think Atlantis has the richer more vibrant feel of the original fabric, and seems more like ocean colours. I hope you have a lovely time at the retreat, and your return to office commute isn't too gruelling.
Hello Teresa, out of the two fabrics you have shown, I really like the Atlantis fabric. Maiden of Tubbataha is also in my stash - just waiting for the embellished pack to start. I picked 'Halcyon' Fabric from Chromatic Alchemy for my piece. Looking forward to seeing your progress - if I get my finger out, I could start this with you (lol)
My vote is the Atlantis fabric though I think the picture will be lovely no matter what. I think the greener background will compliment the corral in the background in a way that it pops gently while the focus is on the mermaid.
the green-blue fabric is very similar to her tail, so the stitching might not stand out as much. With the pinkish-blue, it would have a bit more contrast. Personally I prefer a bit of contrast, but maybe do a floss toss?
I can't imagine having to go back to the city after 3 years at home. It sounds exhausting. The chatelaine retreat sounds wonderful. The girls are growing up and so adorable. Atlantis would be my pick. It has more depth like the ocean.
I would pick the Atlantis fabric, the other reminds me more of sky. Hope you & your girls adjust to a new routine ok, the commute sounds so long 😧 but at least you can stitch. I love so many of your current projects & planned starts. Mayari is in my stash, cream & sugar was already on my wishlist but this makes me want it more 😃

Loved your video! I also love the teacups! My preference is the Atlantis Fabric. It looks more like the ocean. Great update video, I would also pick the atlantis fabric. Good luck on your return to work although the commute sounds yuck (hopefully it'll be a bit cooler than it is now). Those hand dyed fabrics are both beautiful and it was a hard choice,but I pick Atlantis because its darker and looks more like the pattern. I know you love pink and the Aphrodity fabric would have worked....the Atlantis is going to look Stunning once stitched. You did an amazing job picking that fabric...cant wait to see your progress. With the fabric the bluey one looks like closer to the surface. The greeny one looks like deep water so I would go with green one 💚
Do a floss drop on the fabric and see how the threads look on the fabrics!
Atlantis for me! I think the darker tone of the fabric would make her stand out more. It also looks more like the ocean to me 🙂
Hi Teresa, Give yourself some grace as far as the adjustment of getting back into the office. I like the Atlantis fabric but, you may wish to pull the threads and lay them against both pieces to be absolutely sure. 💕💕
Atlantis… it is a darker fabric and it is closer to what is picture. I’m sure that whatever you pic will be beautiful. Happy stitching!❤
For both of those fabrics I would do a floss toss as the tail looks like it could get lost on either piece. Looking forward to seeing your choice.
Atlantis all the way! The dark parts of the design will pop nicely on that blue-green fabric.

I’d pick Atlantis as it brings out the turquoise/green in the tail. However, I think you should look at the colour of the tendrils coming off her to check they’re not going to disappear into the background. Good luck with the commute - 4 hours a day travelling is hard so be kind to yourself when you feel tired.
Another vote for Atlantis - and I’m off to try and buy some as I have this chart and have been wondering hat to choose! Can’t wait to see your start on it ☺️

Atlantis for me too! Good luck going back to the rat race, a few days in it will feel like you’ve never been away! I’ve been on long term sick twice in the last 4/5 yrs and found this to be the case on both occasions! Thanks for finding the time to update us all, enjoy the lovely weather in the meanwhile x
I would definitely pick Atlantis! Fab update, love seeing the girls, we lost our cav two years ago and really miss him. Hope all goes well with work.
Love both fabrics but I think Atlantis seems a more dramatic colour for a dramatic figure.😊

I think the Aphrodite looks more like the called for fabric and the pinky-purple splotches seem to flow better with the called-for threads. The Atlantis seems to have a bit too much green in it to be harmonious with the threads. I’m sure whatever you pick will be wonderful. Good luck heading back to work!
The 2nd fabric is a lagoon blue where you see thru the water and see the plant life.
The first fabric is more nebula like (space), you don't see pinks in the oceans and waterways of the world unless it's in trouble.
The fabric in the picture relates more to the depths of the ocean. What kind of feeling are you going for? Water or ethereal? Other? That's the perspective. Let me know the thought process on the story and I'll try and answer your question. Also I'll get my color genius husband to give his input. (He sees over 60,000 colors, hues, and tones, color specialist.)
I think I would pick Atlantis. But to be absolutely sure, I would pull the threads and lay them on each piece of fabric.

It was so nice to stitch with you again. I was working on my GB sampler that I started for the crew retreat I went to with you all. Yes I am still working on it, bit I did have a few years!! 😲 of not stitching. Back at it and your one of the very few that have kept up with flosstube. I'd go with Atlantis, but before I started to stitch I'd pull threads and see if there's any problems with colours not standing out.
Atlantis blue green. Beautiful! Both would work though. Atlantis looks more moody and mysterious like the sea.
I think the Atlantis one is the best colours to match the chart. I think the pink in the pattern will stand out better on that one as well.

I like the blue one more than the green. When you hold it up the tail of the mermaid on the blue stands out more than on the green as the tail looks more like the green fabric colour on camera and If it was my project I would like the mermaid to stand out more than the fabric myself.🧜🏼♀️❤️

Definitely the Atlantis Teresa.It looked perfect at our side of the video, it's fabulous and it is very like the South Pacific seas here down under. Around the Fijian, New Caledonian Islands the sea is spectacular colour.Love all your WIP's, Queen BonBons and Honey are adorable.
I can see using the Atlantis. I think it’s the better choice because it’s darker. The concern I would have is with the color of the floss on her tail. It looks almost identical. Hopefully it won’t be lost. Both are nice fabrics though. Tough choice.

I would choose Atlantis for your fabric…..go with your gut feeling, prefer the darker shade.
I think Atlantis. Although given color changes with monitors etc so look at the threads on the fabric. From what I see the colors will be more vibrant on Atlantis.
OMGosh! Yes on the gridding!! I'm working on a HAED using 28ct gridded fabric. Prior to this project, the highest count I used was 18ct aida. I'm so scared to try non-gridded high count fabric on other projects.
On the fabric choice, the bottom (tail portion) popped more on the Aphrodite fabric but they are both gorgeous. I love the tea cup pattern!! I collect tea cups and saucers so I love any tea cup pattern. They are a fave!! I know it will be hard to return to work after being home.
I love both fabrics, but Atlantis was beautiful. You are my favorite flosstube channel. I'm happy to see you much better, sorry you have to go back to work in London. The Atlantis looks more like the ocean but the Aphrodite fabric would make the tail stand out more... I love the pinks in it and would pick that one. I also like how it compliments the coral. But both would work very well!
I like the Atlantis fabric as it has the deeper tones which compliment her darker hair.
Whichever you stitch on will be beautiful. At first I thought the Atlantis fabric as more of an ocean feel to it and Aphrodite has more or a sky feel to it to me. Had another look as got distracted first time of watching and wonder if putting the threads against the fabric might help? I'm now confused as to which I prefer - sorry

I have to tell you, I have spent the past month and a half watching your videos from the beginning. You have certainly put me through an emotional roller coaster. In a month you gone from being a new stitcher to an old pro. You have had several birthdays and surgeries. I have cried tears of sorrow and happiness with you. I am pretty much drained. Thanks for sharing all of your life with us. Wonderful projects love. I like the aphrodite best. It is a lighter shading which will let the colors of the stitching stand out.

I personally liked the colours in the Atlantis fabric, very in keeping with the ocean. So I will be interested to see what you decide upon.

I’d pick Atlantis, I just think the other one might be too light and would make the lighter turquoise of her body pop out rather than the darker which would draw the eye more evenly. I don’t know if that explains it right but that’s what I’d pick. I wish you could stay and work from home and I’m hoping the movement of the train doesn’t actually make your pain increase at first🥺. Your stitching looks great , so many gorgeous projects, enjoy your retreat. Just hoping going back to work goes smoothly🤞🙋🏼♀️🥰
Choices are so hard aren’t they?! 🤪 I think I would lean to the Atlantis colour because it’s reading a bit darker overall than the other one and that seems to be more in keeping with the picture. But…both are gorgeous! ☀️♥️☀️
Of the two fabrics I liked the Atlantis better. However, you might try the coffee:tea dye over the other fabric to darken it up on the pink/blue if the lightness of it bothers you….

Both fabrics are beautiful, but I think Atlantis has the richer more vibrant feel of the original fabric, and seems more like ocean colours. I hope you have a lovely time at the retreat, and your return to office commute isn't too gruelling.
I'd go with the Atlantis fabric for Tubbataha :) It looks more like the sea

I picked 'Halcyon' Fabric from Chromatic Alchemy for my piece. Looking forward to seeing your progress - if I get my finger out, I could start this with you (lol)

I reccomend Atlantis due to the darker colours matching the colours on the mermaid more.
My vote is the Atlantis fabric though I think the picture will be lovely no matter what. I think the greener background will compliment the corral in the background in a way that it pops gently while the focus is on the mermaid.
the green-blue fabric is very similar to her tail, so the stitching might not stand out as much. With the pinkish-blue, it would have a bit more contrast. Personally I prefer a bit of contrast, but maybe do a floss toss?
I can't imagine having to go back to the city after 3 years at home. It sounds exhausting. The chatelaine retreat sounds wonderful. The girls are growing up and so adorable. Atlantis would be my pick. It has more depth like the ocean.
I would pick the Atlantis fabric, the other reminds me more of sky. Hope you & your girls adjust to a new routine ok, the commute sounds so long 😧 but at least you can stitch. I love so many of your current projects & planned starts. Mayari is in my stash, cream & sugar was already on my wishlist but this makes me want it more 😃

The Atlantis would be my choice. It has a similar deeper or richer background when compared to the original fabric. Another great video.

I just want to say that you are my fave flosstuber. I like to have flosstube on whilst I stitch and I really love your videos and seeing your wips. I like the Aphrodite fabric for the Bella. I think the pink/purple in the coral will pull those colors out more. But either one would look great!

Those hand dyed fabrics are both beautiful and it was a hard choice,but I pick Atlantis because its darker and looks more like the pattern. I know you love pink and the Aphrodity fabric would have worked....the Atlantis is going to look Stunning once stitched. You did an amazing job picking that fabric...cant wait to see your progress.
