Boring city. I’ve lived here for 10 years. Too expensive and there is a lot of dangerous neighborhoods like Meade village, pioneer city & still meadows. Arundel mills is technically not in Severn. It’s also not a well lit area at night. Heavy traffic because there aren’t ample roads. Schools are bottom of the barrel, though they are pretty diverse due to military base being so close. Neighbors aren’t friendly, people usually keep to themselves. Rarely any community events. HOA will have your car towed if you stay in a visitors spot for more than 1 day even if there is no other parking. The only thing to do is walk your dogs, there are more dog parks than basketball courts, and there are no public swimming pools in Severn! Not a single one! I’d rate Severn a 4/10 only because it’s close to arundel mills and bwi. Everything else is a mess
Median townhome was 330k is interesting. Now seeing 500-700k. Real estate here
has gotten silly.

My wife & son are moving to Severn from Honolulu, HI. We live on Hickam AFB and rent is $3,500 for a four bedroom two bedroom.

I’m coming from NC and I was paying about $1200 in rent for a 3 bedroom apartment and I got a town home in Severn for about $2150 …and I’m definitely bringing my guns with me lol

I would be totally down for Maryland but I'm 2A. Does that mean I have to go to VA? Looking to move this year
From what I hear, gun laws are getting stricter in VA too. MD is not that bad. You do need an HQL (handgun qualification license) in order to purchase handguns and I believe there is a 10 day waiting period. Long guns are still to this day cash and carry. I'll try and get to a diversity video but I'm not super familiar with each and every community in that regard. I will say that almost all of Central Maryland is very well diversified in my experience. Please reach out anytime if you want to consider MD as your next home!
