Sga was sooooo good. I said before this Minnesota series that okc might of been th toughest team th mavs face. I'm looking more and more right after each game of this western finals. I just don't see how ant could play as well as sga. Plus chet was actually really good at protecting th rim and okc hit like 43% of their open 3s. It's amazing th mavs beat them in 6. Sga was so good 😂

I knew before this series that Minnesota had no one to guard Luka, let alone Kyrie… they’ve been feasting on it. Minnesota was built to beat Denver and they barely did it, but they got nothing for Dallas.

He's clearly the best player in the league as far as offensive production goes, and comes through in the clutch. If the Mavs win the championship this year and do well in the regular season next year, Luka should definitely get the MVP.
That being said, he has weaknesses in his game. He is not a good defender. His efficiency is good but not elite. And there's several players in the league who would be very close in terms of offensive production if their usage rates were as high as Luka's, some of whom are clearly better on defense.
This season, Luka's Scoring title champ but not the MVP? WTF...

Cause he is. Even before this playoffs a lot of people were saying its Luka. Imagine avg 34 9 9 for season, got into 5th seed with 50 wins. But all season long youve had significant injuries on your rotation. If they were as healthy as okc, they wouldve been one of the top west seeds.
Its bs they keep pushing this advanced analytics BS. But dont take into account injuries affecting lineups, in turn affecting performance. But here we are. Luka outlasted the other 2 of the top 3 candidates while being injured.

Most of the starting lineup injured including Kyrie during the Mavs hardest schedule month when they had most of their games against Wolves, Denver and Clippers.
I can see this Mavs roster as a 1st seed next season regardless of how this run pans out

I’ve been pissed for 4 years hearing people shit talk Luka. Get on the band wagon because we have known who we have and it’s better than Lebron and Larry bird. I’d say he’s more equal to Jordan but people freak about that comparison but I grew up watching Jordan. When I saw Luka play for the first time I thought I was watching Jordan but as a white dude. I’m glad people are seeing Luka finally. And if we win the title and make a run again next year he will be the undisputed MVP next year.

I'd say he plays closer to Bron but he's a better shooter, distributor, and got better handles/ball control, but less athletic.

It’s really hard when ur lockdown defender is so young. Usually in the playoffs you want the player guarding someone like Luka to have at least 20-25 games played against to pull from but I think Jmac has played like 4 games against him before the series. It’s just really tough for such a young player but I do see him figuring it out a little better the further the series goes on. The T-wolves just need to drag the series out the best they can until that happens.

I feel like people are overhating on the timberwolves, at the end of the day both games 1 and 2 were a 1 possession games that mavs won, its not like the mavs have been crazy dominating. Luka did what he does, closed out the last game and ant having the same chance did not. I feel like that's what it really comes down to in the end.
Imo wolves really need a leader on the court to run the game and the players and that should help them stay focused and playing as a team. Every team needs a take charge leader. Just watch luka lead the mavs with instructions and by example. The luka mavs will follow luka anywhere anytime. A true leader would not let someone call in tired. Or a least not a second time

No, not “looks”; Luka IS (by far) the most complete player the sport of basketball, has EVER seen.
It's really clear in this series. Mavs just need 1 element - PJs and DJJs shooting - average shooting from outside. Meanwhile the T-wolves have a number of unsolved problems - the majority caused by the best player in the world playing against them - even if it's on one leg. If it wasn't for McDaniels anomaly shooting in game 1, and Naz doing it in game 2 - the Mavs would've won with blowouts even with subpar outiside shooting. So much untapped potential.

It’s a final release, hearing this, because for many especially like me, I’m not even from Dallas but I’ve been fallowing them since 2018, just because I knew how good was Luka. THIS good. So to have to heard so much bashing and the like had been pretty heavy. I’ve been in Dallas once, in year 2001.

Reasons why Jokic is better than Luka
1) Jokic is a better scorer against the best defenses in the playoffs
2) A better shooter most of the time (though he shot horribly from 3 this postseason)
3) A better rebounder
4) Better playmaker (better at involving teammates, being unpredictable, allowing others to get in rhythm)
5) Less turnover prone
6) Better post player (Luka is the best perimeter post player but not the best overall)
7)Better leader (how he behaves with refs, his ability to always be in shape and sacrifice stats for team involvement)
8) Better floor raiser/ carrying bad teams (Luka missed the playoffs in his prime)
9) better off ball player
10) easier to play with/ less fit issues
Luka is a better ball handler and volume scorer for sure.
I think that people forget that jokic has had worse help in his prime (2021-2024) than Luka did. Luka had Porzingis, Brunson, Kyrie and always had great defenders around him.
Jokic had Murray who has been injured 3 of the last four season and who is a tier below kyrie. Also he didn't always have defenders around him. Jones, Lively and Gafford are better defenders than Kcp and Gordon
