Nikhil Wagle's questions clearly tells how incapable and unfit he is to take interviews of artists or "Pratibhavaan" people. His questions sound very political and looks like he has a template of interview questions which he asks to all people. But it won't fit for talented people like Pandit Jee. A very wrong interviewer for subject or personality like Panditjee. Check all past years interviews of great artists taken by people like Dr. Ashok Ranade, Datta Marulkar, Sudhir Gadgil. Totally different class and category.
He is great but I read in his biography that his guru ustad amir khan is not better than latadi how he can compare amir khan sing pure classical latadi sing filmy song they reach ht.intheir field

I think what he said about Salilda , Madanji, Sajjad & Jaidevji is somewhat true. They really did not get get the big film projects the way Shankar Jaikishan, Naushadji got. Though I admit that SJ, Naushad were really die hard music directors and did justice to all the big projects. Also it should be noted that SJ were always popular for their ordinary work like Yaa Hoo and other Shammi Kapur Songs and never creative work like Suno Chhotisi Gudiya Ki Lambi Kahani or Tu Pyar Ka Sagar Hai. Even Naushadji is more known for very run off the mill songs like Akhiya Milake Chale Nahi Jaana rather than Mohabbat Ki Zuthi Kahani Pe Roye. After all its my own perception. Everyone has the right to form his own opinion Since Lataji and Ashaji were available for their brother, probably he did gave songs to Sumanji or Alkaji. Both of them are very accomplished singers (especially Sumanji) But he has given songs to Kishoriji Amonkar, Padmaja Phenani and many more. I do not think there is any dynastic monopoly
Getting Big banner projects of films is a tricky. You need to have lot of inside contacts and play politics.Hence we always see- Dev Anand-SD Burman, Dilip Kumar-Nuashad, Rajkapoor-SJ combination. I like Madan Mohan songs but many of his songs in late 50s to 60s are just just average. There are some exceptions like Anpadh,Mera Saya,Neela Akash,Heer Ranjha. Madan Mohan was damn good at tuning Ghazals.Nobody can compete there.That was his forte. Giving general songs(like C Ramachandra or SJ) with wide range, Madan Mohan was not really good at that.
Yet another Mangeshkar family basher and it is unfortunate fact that that there are many of them in that tribe.If there are three singers of outstanding quality within his own family why would he look elsewhere for singers? If Suman Kalyanpur was that great she would not have required any crutches to succeed.
Say 'AR Rehman is Hrudaynath Mangeshkar of Tamil Nadu' just because you wanna say, becos AR rehman is born yesterday. But even this is too much for AR rehman, becoz rehman is definitely not as well read, matured, and talented as this gentleman and has not such great career as this. So compare out of some sense.🙂😊

He deserved at least 5 national awards. But he got only one, that is little upsetting.
