There is literally no reason for there to be any dislikes for this video. Its truly beautiful displaying your strength when you could very well be weak given your circumstances. But taking your power back by removing yourself from any situation that doesn't serve you even when everything else after that seems uncertain. Chose YOU. Love yourself enough to walk away from anyone or anything that hurts you mentally, physically, and/or emotionally. You deserve better.
No more riding and dying. You can't change anyone and you shouldn't waste your time waiting for ppl to change. Instead, work on yourself. Build yourself. Great message in the song! Rooting for Justine Skye. Please make it big.
angelmushahf You can change someone but you can’t depend on them to change for you just because you don’t like something they do or how they act. You have to love them for who they are and still want to see them change for the better. It’s really about your intentions in my opinion

I really got the chills from this video. Showing the struggle behind closed doors that people probably don't know about. My heart goes out to those who go through domestic violence. I know these are just words, but I know that you are strong, and you're strong enough to walk away.
This is the first time ive seen the video but ive listened to this song forever now & can i just say that i legit started crying??? Like 3 years ago this video was me & seeing it all in a video just kinda hit it on the head of how it is to be with someone who is abusive (especially while you're pregnant) & then how freeing it is once you get out of it. Its so hard to try and get away from someone you care about but you cant care for them the right way because they dont care for you the right way either. Youre stuck in a dilemma of "should i abandon all hope and run?" or "Do i stay for the rough times and help the person i love get better?" Everyone says "Once they start they wont stop". When youve never been in a situation like this & it starts happening so slowly from once to a couple times you brush it off and blame it either on yourself or i.e if theyre drunk or really angry. Then it starts happening all the time & youre so mentally detached that you dont even know how you let yourself get this deep & usually it comes with some sort of brainwash of how you arent good enough or no one will ever love you like they love you.. you start letting yourself go bc you believe youre disgusting and no one wants you. Your friends see everything, youre hiding it from your family, everytime you go out together you try to put on a front hoping no one sees the scars under your makeup or clothes.. Once you get out of something thats burying you alive, every breath of fresh air is like being reborn. But you have to stand up and dig yourself out of your grave to get back on top... that process alone can be worse than what youre trying to get out of so most people end up giving up and going back... on top of you still feeling mentally not good enough for anyone else and feeling like that person is the only one who wants you. Youve already given yourself to that person, so why try to start over? Domestic Abuse runs deeper than what people can see, people DIE from this. This needs to be taken seriously in all cases. Save yourself or someone you know guys. I almost lost my daughter and my life to this...

I STILL remember the exact moment when I heard this song for the first time.. needless to say...i got in my feels and it played on repeat till I got home.. The video and lyrics reminded me of my most pain-felt times but also, at the same time, my most empowered of times, as well, when I maintained the faith and courage to keep changing my life because I DESERVED better. I stopped defining myself as a victim of domestic violence, and, instead- as SURVIVOR of it. That decision helped turn the dark moments of my life into something beautiful to grow from. ...one thing thats took me slightly by surprise Is despite how much time has passed since my life was that of the women's in the video- I still get immediately and reflexively taken back when wayching the video! I have to clarify that it wasnt in a negative way, though, was truly quite the opposite. I gained a sense of empowerment by seeing and remembering everything that I was so incredibly lucky to have overcome! Musics ability to grab your soul and resignate with it can truly take your breath away, at times-especially when it does it in a moment that you least expect it and need it most. To all the women still living this-there IS hope. You're a survivor, and are worthy of love.
The message, the lyrics, the song, the visuals, the story, the effects of a abusive relationship but finding the strength to leave is just simply beautiful.💕! Black women are the strongest humans on this planet. #MelaninPoppin👑🍫 "it's okay to not be OKAY"...
There’s a similar theme in many underrated dark skinned women’s music videos: A toxic relationship and the desire to create a man that lets them be the woman they’ve always wanted to be. It makes me incredibly sad that they don’t get the platform to tell their stories and the women that look like them ultimately get blamed for the walls they build to protect themselves because they remain unprotected. They get called masculine and bitter and are blamed for being single mothers and “driving the father away” all while ignoring the fact that they might have escaped something truly horrible and are doing the best they can with the resources they have. They’re all so beautiful but the industry is hiding them, and the community is shaming them.

Lyrical narration, instrumental composition, story telling and the accompanying visuals are stellar in this video. What a great example of what blending music and film should look like.
This was a sad video but well done and amazing.. Thanks Justine Skye for another fantastical video you are doing so well and thanks for exposing abusing relationships hopefully this will help a lot of people and encouraging them to seek help💜💜💜💜
I remember the person who i loved deeply asked me one day to "wait for him"..... wait for him to grow up and stop playing.... so i turned him down there and then and I said no... turnes out he never changed and thats more then 10 yrs ago. Hardest thing i ever had to do is stop loving that dude, but it was the best thing I ever did.
Watching this video makes me cry...it brings back a lot of pain and hurt. Those who've experienced domestic violence understands the cycle. Its both mental and physical. I pray you get out of this toxic situation safely. I will never let anyone bring me so low again. Peace & Love y'all.
This song better get a recognition. I swear this deserves a trending!! sending a big message about domestic violence!! This is real stuff!!! Bringing awareness!!!!!!
Justine in one of many underrated artist who doesn’t receive enough recognition for their artistry. This song proves that. Not only does this video shed light on domestic violence it also empowers women to always choose yourself first to never stop improving on self worth. 💜
The problem is that industry or most of music consumers and followers prefer artists who make music videos showing their bodies, shaking asses, ignoring artists like Justine Skye and more others that make great musics. There are many artists that make great music but unfortunately don't get much recognition, because there are few people like us who appreciate good music instead of plastic music.

Duvalle Lindsey Ive never seen a black Emma but okay
Duvalle Lindsey what 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️dumb people like you
Duvalle Lindsey shhhhhhhh listen to the song and shut the fuck up.
This song is so beautiful, the beats, lyrics, videography, all of it. You can feel the emotion and rawness from her saying "if I could build a man, like really build a man." Not a boy, guy, a Man.
Lyrical narration, instrumental composition, story telling and the accompanying visuals are stellar in this video. What a great example of what blending music and film should look like.
Yes I’m happy that you overcame this and I hope anybody going through this gets help when needed and not take this abuse.🙏🏾
Stunning, the visuals, the concept, you did what you had to do!
This was a sad video but well done and amazing.. Thanks Justine Skye for another fantastical video you are doing so well and thanks for exposing abusing relationships hopefully this will help a lot of people and encouraging them to seek help💜💜💜💜
cool
i love it but god jup
Purple is also the color of domestic violence awareness this month 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Sexist facts…
So just sexist. Not fact.
I mean.... It's not wrong tho
@@HvnSntLvsays a man. That wormed himself in this conversation. If you’re here you’re either abused, being abused still, or you are the abuser.
@@ganjagoddess420 that fact you have goddess in your name tells me all I need to know. Be quiet.
Wow so much black beauty in one video.
Tbh, im proud. Such beauty and it wasn’t them twerking in scandalous clothing

Arin Ray is finally making it in 2019 after all of these years. Anyone remember seeing him on The X Factor?
Rly?
When he started singing😻😭so fine
Ugh why is she so underrated. Justine skye is the truth.
THIS SONG NEEDS MORE ATTENTION
I’m so sorry you had to experience abuse 😭this made me shed tears. Thank you for spreading awareness on dv
“ & I wish you can change, but that won’t change the pain “
Arin Ray's voice omg😯😍❤
Yeessss😩
I still tryna figure out why she's not more successful...
Because she makes good music and is talented....the ones that blow up are a joke to music.
@@Mo-yg2uk Kinda true. Only a few talented ones succeed nowadays.
Erm she is successful
@@lifewithbes he said MORE successful.......meaning why no one is talking about her the way they talk about other celebs. (Sza, Jenelle Monae, etc.....)
Mo 1720 granted sza ain’t really blow up until CTRL she been out for years and nobody knew who she was. It just takes one song and this is it!
All the love to this woman. She’s so empowering. 💙💜
She's a incredible artist with real messeges in her songs she should get every award
This really moved me. I'm so sorry you had to go through that Justine and anyone else. All the best in your life and may it be full of love and insight. Don't ever worry about sheck wes...what goes up must come down. Go you!
She’s actually such an amazing person with a good heart 💜 keep speaking our truth!
i remember seeing the amount of views on her audio version... and now y’all here yall was SLEEEEP
Justine is Normani's friend and Arin is Normani's ex 👀. Maybe they'll collab one day

“But since I can’t build a man, imma work on who I am spending all my time on me instead of living in make-believe”
4 years later and I never forgot this song.. it’s still so important to me 🤍
This song was extremely underrated ugh I hate how she doesn’t connect with her supporters lol she would be so much bigger
