I am excited to watch this team with no expectations, and hoping for some growth from the core players, or other young players to make their own strides. As well, one of Flagg or Bailey would go a long way for the team's future.

Yes, I do see them take a leap this season. With the trio of Barrett, Barnes and Quickley staying together for a full offseason, the Raptors could make some noise in the East.
Last season, Scottie has shown that he is indeed playing at all-star level. Remember all those late game clutch threes he took and made, getting defensive stop with his talented athleticism.
The Raptors actually got a nice roster that could grow together eventually. They might hit play-in this season too!

i love this team and how they are developing. last year was successful in it's own way bc the team was blown up and reconfigured bc that has to happen for rebuilding and establishing the basis for becoming successful. it was apparent to me that grady dick needed to bulk up and dude definitely muscled up. i think he will be a huge surprise. this guy has the stroke, and he can be a much bigger part of this teams success than many casual fans may think. he showed excellent court awareness, and he can and will get some steals, assists, and even a few boards, and will no longer be pushed around. i think he wants to be a star in this league, and he's shown that he's willing to do whatever is required to succeed, so i'm big on grady, and i expect him to surprise everyone. RJ, Quickley, and Scotty are all top notch players imo so with grady playing at a much higher level like i expect, they are going to be a handful. poertl is competent, but if they can land a big time big man then all bets are off - that and a deeper bench and then look out bc they will be super tough to beat.

I agree, but one of the biggest risks for this season will be to overestimate the ceiling of this roster. Need to be a seller at the trade deadline, a better record will help the price for non core pieces, it's year 1 of the rebuild, this will take awhile

Please note a lot of good teams start the season slow. Do not be surprised if the Raptors get unexpected wins. I know the schedule is difficult to start but the wins could be higher than expected.

That wins total for the over/under is likely factoring in that tough sched to start the season and how the team could react after losing a lot of games. If it's ugly early, then pulling the plug by trading, Poeltl is quite possible. If that happens then any chance at the play in will be gone.

While the argument that the Raptors are "better than you think" tries to paint an optimistic picture, it overlooks some hard truths. The team’s strategy of relying on cheap trades and lower-level picks has not yielded the impact needed to stay competitive at the top. Unlike teams that have successfully rebuilt through smart trades or acquiring high-caliber talent, the Raptors have often ended up with unproven players who struggle to make a consistent impact.
The Raptors' failure to make significant changes has left them in a state of stagnation, often hovering around mediocrity without clear direction. The lack of a true star acquisition or game-changing trade has hampered their ability to contend seriously in the Eastern Conference. While player development is important, it's not a substitute for the immediate impact that top-level talent and significant roster upgrades bring.
The team’s current approach feels more like treading water rather than making real strides forward. Until they make bold moves that go beyond bargain trades and lower picks, it's hard to argue that they're truly better than perceived.

The bench still looks bad at producing points and defending.

The reality is the NBA is built around superstars. You need at least two of them. The Raptors have none.

The Raptors are smaller than YOU think. They were going in the right direction with Vision 6'9, but it seems they've abandoned it and have gone in the opposite direction 🤦🏾‍♂️. The main problem was they tried to build it around a flawed player. They got the right player now but still surround him with the wrong pieces smh.

This team is a trainwreck. A few good pieces for sure, but what they really needed was a very good, athletic Center. Since they dont have that, they will be exposed once again. They aee a play in team, and will get bounced. And im a die hard Raps day one fan. But they needed to Trade Bruce Brown, Chris Boucher, Agbage, Nwora, and get couple of key pieces baxk. The fact they didnt do that is dumbfounding and infuriating. Smh. Feels like they are trying to tank tbh.

Raps will finish 11 just behind the Piston. They are not in a position to survive any time miss from any of they top 4 players. I do not believe in Darko on the defensive end. Rj cannot be lock down defender. Quick is overpaid. I am excited about Chomche..
On the bright side we will get a pretty good player in the draft.

Bro I was waiting for someone to diagnosed the bench but it never happen. Ujiri sucks at building a bench so yeh man I am not feeling it but wish someone will do a show on all these new players and what to expect not just bowing down to ujiri.
