@skybluetrades Yes i remember cyclone namu it was in 1986... i was a crew of the m.v Belama the solomon islands marine ship. We were on the ontong java islands at that time seeking shelter between the small atoll islands.
I was in SI 21 years ago with a US Marine detachment in the wake of cyclone Namu. It was a beautiful place with friendly people. I stayed at Auki Lodge most of the time. Anyone out there remember Namu or the relief effort that followed? At that time I never heard an unkind word between people from Guadalcanal and Malatia. It looks like things have changed...for the worse.
