    Inconsistent results can be down to bassically three things: 1- not having a good seal on the breech. 2- not having a consistent hammer strike. 3- a too constricted flowpath from the bulk chamber to the expansion chamber in which the hammer valve sits (it seems all the extrenely high shots were the first of a couple of shots). These are the things beyond the normal variance which is caused by temperature changes in the bulk chamber. Only point 1 and 2 can easily be improved (safely). Good luck with the breakdown video! I gave you a like hoping you’ll do that vid. Also thanks for doing this one.

      I haven't seen the internals, but looking at how it primes, it appears to be an inline "Nelson" style valve. With rough components in a plastic body, there can be a lot of drag and inconsistent results. The paintball solution (other than simply a more precisely manufactured body and components) was to pull the internals and polish them. You can pull the sear off the hammer, chuck it up in a drill press, and get the outside to a mirror polish with emory cloth, etc. You'll also want to polish the valve stem, and true up the shoulder with a file if there are any burrs on it. The inside of the hammer shouldn't contact the valve stem, but if it does you can pull off any burrs with a Dremel. The plastic body remains a problem, but you can do one of two things - either relieve the body on the inside enough so that the hammer doesn't touch it, or add brass rails using shim stock and epoxy. Lastly, since you're in there, you'll want to polish the hammer sear and bolt lip to improve trigger pull. Test it with the guts out of the gun, and make sure the hammer and bolt click together without canting the hammer too much. You can also polish the rear lip of the bolt to get a better release on the hammer. There are also things you can do inside the valve, but your average hobbyist probably isn't going to open that up, and it involves more precise tools to do things like lap the valve seat (although I've seen it done with a mirror and cloth).
      One thing you ARE going to want to do is to look at where the release point of the trigger is. If it's all molded plastic components, it's very possible you're getting inconsistent release on the trigger. This is more important when using the "autotrigger" function of a Nelson setup, but it can cause some velocity variance. The correct solution is a replacement metal trigger (and transfer bar if it has one) that's more precise.

      Theres a chance the temperature of releasing co2 is causing those changes and inconsistencies. They may need to change the tolerances or use different materials for the seals, etc. As you shoot co2 it gets colder and colder. Might be a hot weather blaster.

    • @nirodha7028
      @nirodha7028 3 роки тому

      @@NeoIsrafil well... CO2 certainly has a cooldown effect lowering the pressure. But with an unregulated pressure source and a hammer valve some ‘magic’ happens which normalises the amount of gas in the downstream system. The ‘magic’ is actually quite simple: if the pressure in front of the hammer valve lowers... the valve will stay open longer due to the hammer strike being consistent. The volume of gas will always be the same. Normally this shouldn’t cause too much issues.

All you need for Nerf at the very core is just a few blasters and some darts. Maybe a decent sized play area, but otherwise that's all you need. The issue with co2 guns is that as you fire, the co2 rapidly chills the valve and other internals. This causes the drop in velocity after each shot that you see here. As an airgun nut, I'm all too familiar with this, funny to see it in a nerf gun though.

I'm one of the less-abled players, I'm building my first HPA blaster next week when my brass order arrives, the easy priming is what has enticed me to start in HPA because stronger springs means more pain. 2:59 it’s not illegal but suppressors are regulated? You can use them on air guns if you can prove intent. Pyramyd air did an article going into depth and speculation. If you plan to look into getting one do your own research and decide for your self.
    Edit: do not do anything without doing your own research. I put this info here because I’m sure drac is smart enough to use it. (It is possible to use them).
    Do not use any of what I wrote. I am not an expert.

    • @Sal.sanchez
      @Sal.sanchez 4 роки тому

      Here’s a perfect world answer: The NFA (The National Firearms Act of 1934) currently does not give the federal government the ability to prosecute suppressors for air guns. So making an air gun suppressor is legal in the United States (at the federal level) as long as you intend that suppressor to be only used on an airgun.

    • @Sal.sanchez
      @Sal.sanchez 4 роки тому

      ALSO part of the article from pyramydair: SO WHAT? We're talking about airguns here!
      Yes we are, and most airgunners know that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) has jurisdiction over firearms ONLY. In fact, U.S. Code specifically prohibits any federal, state or local municipality from declaring an airgun to be a firearm. Not only do the federal firearms laws NOT apply to airguns, they CANNOT be applied by law! But that doesn't get us out of the woods.
      However...
      IF you have an airgun silencer, and IF it can be removed and installed on a firearm, and IF it then quiets that firearm - that silencer meets the legal definition and is subject to the law. However, in the United States, a person is considered innocent until proven guilty, so it is also necessary to prove intent, as in you intended to use the silencer in your possession on a firearm. Therein lies the problem.

    At only 100 fps and still needing to prime, might as well use a K31 or 788 Talonclaw. For those that are unable to prime, a flywheeler is probably better since this doesn't seem to have the accuracy/consistency of a springer anyway.

    The M16 had a fixed stock, carry handle rear sight, A1 front sights, a 20 round box magazine until the late 80s early 90s, Safe. Single, and auto selector switch, and a smooth front handguard. The "rifle" here is a depiction of an M4A1, with a collapsible stock, pic rail along the entire top of the rifle, and a pic rail front handguard. Dont call somethin an M16, if its not an M16

    I could see why you’d mistake it being based of an M16, its actually the shorter version, the M4, i mean the M4 and a few of the M16 variants are burst (M4 is the burst version, the M4 “A1” is the full auto variant) and they are in the same family of rifles, but it is an M4.

    I really don't care to have a co2 powered blaster if it's pump action. Umarex needs to have a sealed chamber and a blowback system to make this worthwhile.
    Edit: also should come made for half lengths. No need for this kind of power if you can't shoot straight.

  • @fewik8567

    Why would you design a gun and make it single shot if your working with high pressures, honestly, I actually created a blowback system, it was very basic but full auto hpa with consistent shots over 220 fps, couldn't really drop it because the spring for the blowback was too strong
