      @@Sammo212 I disagree. If you watch it and finish it you finished the show, no need to rewatch it or anything like that. • @Flash33c
      @Flash33c 4 місяці тому +76

      @@Vaquix000 I disagree that rewatches always weakens the overall experience as a show can still be entertaining, enjoyable and comforting despite that. It's the same reason we replay games & songs, reread books or revisit places like amusement parks. Not only that but you can sometimes catch certain clues and hints to future developments on rewatches that you might have missed or misremembered the first time. Shows like Gravity Falls for example encourage rewatches not only for the ciphers (some of which are only on screen for a second & are easily missed if you're not looking for them) and certain background elements but also some scenes get recontexualized thanks to information revealed later on. There's also the chance that your first watch was hindered or clouded by bias, and a rewatch could present the opportunity to approach it with a fresh perspective and as unbiased as possible.
      Maybe in some specific cases it can make the experience worse but as a whole I disagree that rewatches inherently make the experience worse. You can still have those memories of the first watch but now with the opportunity to make new ones as well.

      That really wasn't the problem. The problem was that he never said that was what was happening.
      No, he was actively saying the exact opposite - that they had already donated it and were directly working with those groups.
      And then by his own admission, even if he wasn't aware originally, he knew for almost two years that it wasn't true, yet continued to say these same things anyway which makes every instance after an intentional lie.
      Even if he simply didn't understand the lump sum payment thing, once it was explained to him that they hadn't actually donated and why, it was his job to do that for the audience, not just lie to them.
      If he had just corrected himself immediately, then it's pretty likely none of this would have went down.
      Once it's found out, it's too late. Especially when you see that he's been lying to you by his own admission for almost two years, there's no reason to believe him after the fact.
      The rest of what he's done and said regarding it are suspicious, but no one would have been looking into him to find those if not for his donation lies.

    This isn't over yet. Jirard still owes the remaining $55k from 2022 plus whatever he earned from 2023. Let's also not forget that the inconsistencies in the filings also hint at other undeclared amounts. The point is he still owes a lot more than some people realize.
    He donated an amount large enough to impress anyone who wasn't paying attention while still holding onto the rest. He shouldn't be able to get away with that.

I’m still working on that. I think he hasn’t realized that he’s only done a portion of the work it takes. Tho I would commend him for even taking that step, as it’s even harder for men in our society to step up and admit they need a therapist. I discovered Jirard in 2020, shortly before COVID lockdowns hit. I loved his videos. His enthusiasm for video games was palpable - it felt like a celebration of gaming. I recommended him to countless people, and his reviews became a regular part of UA-cam for me. I even recommended his channel to friends with young kids considering how family friendly the content was.
    I went into Karl and Mutahar's videos with an open mind back when those bombs dropped, since I hadn't seen much of their content at the time but I also recognized these weren't just random troll or drama accounts making these accusations. I had a really unpleasant, sinking feeling when they laid out their ironclad evidence, and things went from bad to worse with Jirard's *awful* response, where he made claims that I factually know are untrue given my experience with nonprofits.
    In subsequent videos where Karl unearthed a lot of Jirard's bizarre behavior like the lies about how he quit his job at Best Buy, all I've wondered is, who the fuck is this guy I considered a gold standard for gaming content? Did he really just keep a Nice Guy (TM) mask on for this long? It's one of the wildest and quickest falls from grace I think I've ever seen.

      Considering Jirard's track record for telling the truth, I wouldn't be so eager to believe anything about his dad.

      Dude should've talked to one of his SIX therapists about it instead of trying to finally earn daddy's approval by showing he could be a scammer too

    Just went and checked his channel, obviously the views are lower but it still blows my mind how people go and watch his stuff and either ignore everything that happened or just dont even know what happened.

    I used to watch the Completionist with my dad. He's gone now (not dead, out of the house bc of drugs) and turns out that Jirard is a complete waste of air, why does this always happen.
