      This is not about speakint skills. Languages are getting extremely simple, because majority of people are just typing stuff on their phones and everybody secretly hates the shit out of writing on their phones and people aren't focused on the language but on an efficacy of their expression - the shorter the better.

I gave a measured criticism of someone directing digital hate at a woman who’s analyzing her own behaviors and habits, a video he intentionally titled “The Exact Moment She Realizes She’s Stupid.”
      The woeful lack of self awareness, to call someone stupid when they are implementing skills that we intelligent human beings have used for ages would make a wonderful foundation for firing off all sorts of insults yet I didn’t.
      He could have made the same choice I did and offered genuine criticism. Instead he chose to belittle another person, and he is in fact a grown man who is capable of doing better.
      Lastly, was your comment meant to be a quote of some kind? Or was it a genuinely original thought? Because it actually would make a great quote.

      Maybe in a couple more decades. This is a habit that we are supposed to drop as kids when our vocabulary grows. However, women went to work and there was an immediate lack of parenting. This problem manifested almost immediately.

      I read somewhere that people use filler words as a way of softening what they’re saying so as to not offend the listener.
      In line with this reasoning, I have a gifted iq, but low confidence, so I notice that I tend to use them as a means of hedging.

      Meeting some American tourist really made me realize that my English is way more fluent and articulate then many of the native speakers I've encountered. It is an advantage now days, because I never visited the US, I never got conditioned by their speech habits :D

    So if someone realizes that they have a problem, and wants to acknowledge it and improve upon it, then they are stupid? I don’t think she’s stupid. I think it’s human nature to fill in paused silences, when we are thinking and trying to form our next thought and/or sentence. She recognizes that she has a shortcoming and wants to improve upon it. That isn’t stupid.

    Great hah! I am 33 years old , when I was a teenager the usage of "like", "and", "umm", "but" where started to be used a lot more often. So at least in the County where I went to school at. The teachers n all the schools started targeting this and it worked! Me and most my friends got corrected and we do not speak like that at all. Also worked on us w/ public speaking.

    I remember when I was in my 20’s, I learned how to speak without using the filler words and to speak more fluidly so your mind can think to say the next word rather than trying to throw in like, um, you know, uhh. Focusing on the next word rather than the filler word regulates your mind to connect to the next word. Very powerful especially in the work environment

    When my daughter was 12 or 13 I noticed she was saying “like” a ton. I figured that it stems from trying to talk while you’re still thinking about what you want to say. So, I told her to think about what she wanted to say BEFORE she spoke, not while she was speaking. Practically cured it instantly.
