I'm not sure about that. UK Daimler had had no connection with Daimler-Benz after the very first years. My memory is that Daimler supplied the cars for thw coronation, and alao for the tour of the various Commonwealth countries in 1954/55.@@mw8653
@@julesmarwell8023 Certainly Norah Docker was a contibutory factor , but there are two other more important factors , which prised the Royal Family's allegiances away from Daimler .Firstly Prince Philip was obsessed with 'The Scalded Cat', on loan to him from RR,...a lengthened MkV1 Bentley chassis powered by the 5.6 litre RR Straight Eight commercial/ military engine , the prototype of which had been deveoped in 1939 in a rare MkV,... or was it 25/30 RR chassis ?. Post war this theme evolved into the very selective limited run of the Straight Eight Phantom 1V : The second reason is the Royal Daimler DE36's failure to proceed on a ceremonial occasion, causing red faces all round : it is well documented , but also challenged,..some historians claim it was the Chauffeur's failure to positively engage gear in the preselector box . Either way, the die was cast by this time,....

Maybe the RR was a more patriotic choice after the war.
