    Love your WIPS - especially Dragon Ride. Wow. This is so pretty and I love the Colors in this.
    Congratulations on finishing Flea Market Flowers. This is so pretty.
    I am so glad that you are okay from Hurricane Hilary and the Earthquake. Another Stitching Friend of mine who makes Floss Tube Videos also lives in Southern California and she said that it was mostly rain as well too.

    Hi Sarah! I really enjoyed today’s video! Congratulations on a finish on Flea Market Flowers! The elephant advent piece is so cuteI I like your plan for your family pieces going forward! I also like watching Laura’s videos for the same reason I like yours - so much variety and pretty patterns! So with variety in mind, I’m really going to enjoy your September plans! Have a wonderful week!

    Hi! I am so excited to hear about your finishing ideas for the Advent Animals. I have kitted up mine this past week and as I was looking at that border...I wondered: What did Stitchin' Mommy do? After listening to your ideas I want to offer a small tweak - do the border on the design piece, fray out the edges AND THEN stitch it to the parchment. To me, the Advent border design looks like it is going to be very bulky. I look forward to hearing what you decide to do! Now, back to watching the rest of your Flosstube #286. 😍

    Leave the flag pole - it's closer in viewpoint than the other poles, so it's a clearer darker color. It's fine and the project is very cute!

    Your Flea Market Flowers is so pretty, very delicate in that size. I think I smiled the whole time at the story of your stitching for your Pastor. How fun! It made me think of my husband with the crochet comment. All the years I’ve cross stitched he never can remember to call it that. He always calls it my crocheting. I do crochet, but they certainly don’t look alike😁. Btw, I’m stitching your Quaker temp chart for Ohio, I use the varied chart and have not used the hottest 3 colors at all! Cooler there too.

    You can use a denim needle in your slewing machine and sew your ornaments to your card stock! I’ve done it and it works great but I would use auto fill thread and it comes in beautiful colors! ❤ I can’t wait to see how your flip calendar turns out Sarah! Love all you do! ❤

      Yes, my original plan was to sew them onto the cardstock with my sewing machine. I have done that before when making cards. But it just occurred to me that adding that candy cane border as the method to attach them to the cards might be a fun alternative. :)

    I absolutely love the pillow! Our Sunday School class is going through Ezekiel now and it is a stark reminder that God is a loving, long-suffering God, but He is also a jealous and wrathful God when we turn from Him. We need reminding of that as well as how people will treat us as Christians. It's not all sunshine and roses, but it is worth it!!!

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  Рік тому +1

      If a piece has beads, I will iron it upside down and be gentle in those areas where beads are - not ironing as much or as firmly in those areas. You can put a towel down underneath the stitching to further cushion the beads as well. This will only work if you have attached them with cotton thread - if you used invisible thread, you would need to put a cloth between the work and your iron and use a lower setting so that the thread doesn't melt.

    Flag poles in parades rarely match so I don’t think it matters. With Brooks ornaments, if you match the to stitching to the background, you can sew an overlap of 3 to 5 stitches and it doesn’t show. I am making a trading card for the Stitching on the Shore challenge and fraying the edge of the stitched portion…did this and you can’t see it. I just checked Victoria Sampler…so many lovely charts but I can’t find the freebie you were talking about.

    I love your Nora Corbett letter fairy. Your back stitches look so nice! Do you stitch them square by square even when they are straight lines? Thanks.

    • @StitchinMommy
      @StitchinMommy  Рік тому

      Yes, on that design (and most of my projects) I tend to backstitch each stitch when going in a straight line (or exact diagonal). If the line goes on an uneven diagonal (up 1 stitch, but over 2 stitches, for example), I will do a straight stitch across the space rather than try to split the fabric. On my Advent Animals, since the majority of the backstitching is done with 2 strands and the model stitches looked like a lot of the "backstitching" was actually straight stitches, I have been stitching that one with much longer stitches, but that is abnormal for what I usually do. :)

    I think that pillow is great. Sometimes now, Christians are already being persecuted. Although, it’s nice to see people standing up for the Lord and Christ. But where would our lives and peace of mind be without Them? I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know a lot of people say, so you’re not Christians. Wrong, our name of our church says it all. All Christians do have to speak up for our Heavenly Father and Christ.
