Ik it probably doesn't actually count, but the one-two punch of "The Yes Album" and "Fragile" both dropping the same year to be is genuinely fantastic lol Great list regardless though! Deconstruction and Ghost are both awesome, as well as Vector and Virus
Terrific video, Notes! When I saw the name of this I immediately thought of KG/LW and I'm so glad they made the list. I know this is very subjective and a huge chunk of the fanbase feel this is not peak Gizz, but I absolutely love these albums. I believe I would only rank Polygon, Murder of the Universe, and maybe Nonagon higher than them for me personally. I feel like these albums have a unique sound to them that appeals to me - there is such variety on these from hard hitters like The Hungry Wolf of Fate, the dance style of Intrasport, the folksiness of Honey, and the Eastern influence of East-West Link, and yet with that variety there's also elements that really string the albums together like the harp-like soundscapes and the world music sounds, and they beautifully string the tracks together with seamless transitions (King Gizz is gifted at this on all their albums really).
Pain of Salvation's "Road Salt One" and "Road Salt Two" were kinda controversial with fans at first, but I've been finding fans really warming up to those two albums. I still rank them lowest in their discography, but 8/10 vs. 9.5/10 averages :P
Marillion "Happiness Is the Road Volumes 1 & 2", originally released as separate albums, now available as a double CD set. Some consider it among the bands weaker works, but I really don't care. I love it. A sprawling, experimental collection of songs and odds & ends, sort of in a similar eccentric spirit as the Beatles White Album. I find it a great, contemplative listen for lazy afternoons.
I love Vector and Virus so much! I’m a little surprised you didn’t count A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering by Genesis - I know they’re not explicitly sequels, but they have a similar sound, they were released close together, and most importantly they’re really good lol.
Also, maybe another good video would be where a band makes one type of album and then their next one is something totally stylistically different, like the two Comus albums.
IMO your # 2 is number #1 by a large margin . That being said will Virus is not Haken's best work its still pretty good. I heard them play Messiah complex live and man that was great.
I think out of all the Act albums, those two are the most closely linked, but I left them off since they're apart of a much larger story, and unlike say Afterman from C&C, are much more tied to the overall story. But seeing as they were recorded at the same time I could give it a pass.
I would say Floyd's The Final Cut is basically just The Wall Part 2, but those albums are kinda lame. Nice Haken nod, I love those two as well, even more than their older stuff.
I love Damnation but Deliverance is one of Opeths weaker albums in my opinion, about half the album is Opeth at their best the other half are Opeth at their weakest.
As a friend of Notes' who loves prog and doesn't really "get" their love of Swift... I'll honestly say these two albums are... not bad. Give 'em a chance. Might change your mind. Definitely enjoyed the more folk-y character of both records and the different focus of the lyrics (more fantasy based, not so much about her exes).
I've always appreciated about this channel that Notes mainly focuses on prog but is not afraid to bring in other genres and just talk about their taste.

Alpha and Omega are my favorite Periphery albums 😄
Ayreon's Universal Migrator Part I and Part II are definitely worth a mention!
@@ChrisR2912 I mentioned them last week!
Since they're called Part I and II, it's on the Vol 1/Vol 2 video.
"Vector is one of my favorite records from Opeth."
He was just talking about Opeth so excuse that small Freudian slip
Avantasia's Angel of Babylon and The Wicked Symphony is a gap for ya! I think you'll love them both!
For me those two are better than any on this list. Not as stand alone albums but seen as a whole.

Maudlin of the well “bath” and “leaving your body map” both released on the same day. Some of my favorite albums of all time

Big Big Train's Folklore & Grimspound
Kid A and Amnesiac?
@@TheProgCorner how could I forget that one!!

As somebody whose favorite Coheed albums are the Afterman duo, the disrespect is real lol
Would The Dear Hunter’s Act 4 and Act 5 have fit your criteria? Released 1 year apart but recorded at the same time

Aren’t The Carly Rae Jepsen both studio albums ?
@@Dreamwar19 all of her records come with a "side B" album, rather than it being a full studio album

bro put taylor swift in the same list that has KGLW, Haken and Opeth💀💀💀
Yeah man, good music is good music regardless of genre
Taylor Swift , what have you got yourself into, man?
bro where have you been???
