I am not surprised to see comments about North Indian Brahmins and their way of chanting Vedas. I too was like that when I first started learning Vedas, and used to think they were somehow "below" me for not chanting properly. Now I know better - There are many different Shakas and Vedas. Veda Mata blesses everyone who pursues the vedas with purity of heart, regardless of whether they're "north" or "south". Prior to Veda Vyasa codifying the 4 vedas, we were all one. FYI - those in north india primarily chant Rig Veda or Shukla Yajur Veda, which have different swaras, and sandhi rules.
South Indian chants, transport one into believing in God and moving me so spiritual. It is absolutely mesmerizing. I love the Vedic chants of the South definitely better. Especially, sung by the Brahmins or those trained so well with pronouncing Sanskrit so well. I love hearing these Hymns
its not about north or south , you need to understand by default that south indians mostly have krushna yajur vedam or sama vedam while north indians have shukla yajur or rig veda as their family heritage each veda is chanted in a different way , even in south the chanting of sama vedam is very different from krushna yajur vedam
I just forgot all my evils at least for few minutes. I thank God being made me as son of great Yajurveda Krama Scholar.....India, where the soil, air, fire, every heart (*who born as Hindu) is the REAL path to reach Ultimate Source of Energy..GOD...
Those, who are writing about South India vs. North India here, permit me to say, have no fundamental knowledge of the various recensions ('saakhas") in Vedas nor the difference in reciting the same Mantra appearing in different Vedas. The style of recitation and pronunciation (i.e., swarita, deergha swartia, udaattha, and anudaattha, etc., ) is different for different recensions. It is not as if South Indians recite better than their northern counterparts. It would be better to verify first, before writing something here, lest we betray our ignorance of the subject!
can you guys stop thi South and North. We all are of same blood as our ancestor's. We alla are sanathana darma followers. Unity is the best medicine for staying strong.
The basis of veda chanting is though Ganapati who have learnt proper chanting in simple terms where to carry to high pitch then stop again start so the vedic dwaras are not like classical music
One has to aspire for GOD realisation, Outward rituals will not remove ignorance. Some vedic experts says they are still unable to understand GOD. Let's forget about where you are born and what you have learnt from outside knowledge. The true knowledge can be known only from GOD realisatio i.e, inner realisation. Even an iota of ego will not help a person in knowing GOD realisation.
This is ghanam recital style. Take 3 words of the vedic shloka. यः प्राणतो निमिषतो Chant in the order 1-2-2-1-1-2-3-3-2-1-1-2-3 then take the next 3 words (including two from earlier) प्राणतो निमिषतो महित्वi and chant in the same order. Listen from 0:10 for these three words ghanam. Ghanam style is learnt after nearly 12 years of veda study. The pundits who learn this style are called Ghanapatigal. Not every pundit can do it.
Some comments give impression like perceiving elephant figure by blinds touching various parts/limbs. Even in Tamilnadu there are different schools teaching vedas according to divisions kanchi pata kumbakaonam pata sringeri pata within Rigveda and shukla yajurveda. For example study in matriculation graduation phd etc. With all impediments vedic study undertaken by few sections of community. Only idiots throw brickbats against them in Tamilnadu. Long live vedic knowledge & vedic pandits. 🙏🙏🙏
Inner Ignorance can not go just by shouting such type of mantras. Though it brings some sacredness but without ATMAVICHAR these are all merely PAKHANDA.
Vedas are recited properly in South Indian states including Maharashtra. In North India, Vedas are taught rarely and that too in some places like Varanasi. There is a fundamental difference in the recitation of Vedas in the North and the South. In the North, it is Shukla Yajurveda tradition and in the South, it is Krishna Yajurveda tradition. Krishna Yajurveda tradition is fast and robust and therefore, more appealing. In Andhra, some Brahmins follow the Shukla Yajurveda tradition, yet they recite far better than North Indian brahmins. The difficulty with the North Indian Brahmins is that they pronounce Sanskrit words as they pronounce Hindi or English words. While speaking Hindi, they follow the English style of pronunciation of Hindi words, though they write correctly those words. Thus they have corrupted both Hindi and Sanskrit and also the recitation of Vedas.
north Indians can't able to chant like this....I heard even in tribamkeshwar temple...leave about Ghana...Sri rudram also their swaras and aksharam was not proper....
Mani Kandan, You are wrong! What you have heard must be a fraction. There are several "sakhaas" (recensions) in Vedas. Each saakha, even of the same Veda, has a different style of recitation! Thus between Krishna Yajurveda and Sukla Yajurveda, there is a wide gulf in the style of recitation!
Great tradition. All Hindus shall be proud of this culture. These young pandits are doing great service to society.
amazing! one can only imagine the mental alertness that is required to remember the mantras in Ghana format and keep sandhi rules intact.

can anyone tell which part of yejur veda is this plzzz
This is HIRANYAGARBHA SUKTAM. It is there in Rigved and Krishna Yajurved. There are ten shlokas in Rigvedic version and eight in Yajurved.

Show this to North Indians who claim Hindi is great language
When Sanskrit is.

You haven’t seen Brahmins in rest of the country
