either way, this can only end poorly.
this video was supposed to come out earlier, but then i realized that i can't just edit videos for 12 hours straight because i'm a human being unfortunately :(
some nifty behind the scenes info: the recordings in this video were actually done months ago back in january. at this point i've read up to episode 150, so i'll just be editing through all that for the next few weeks! also it took a lot of willpower not to call this one chipwrecked.
some Plot Stuff: the worst part about me basically reading the enstars story backwards is that i'm SO BEHIND. like all the other enstars lore girlies are talking about the new web series and i'm still just HERE!! but i am having fun and i really love getting to unravel the story at my own pace with you guys :)
also, to clarify: i don't actually think eichi is like EVIL or something. i don't think he's acting out of pure malice, and i'm sure in his heart he believes what he's doing is correct. if alkaloid's goal is to "become good idols," then maybe eichi's definition of "a good idol" involves being willing to sacrifice your life for the betterment of idols as a whole. so, in a way, eichi is helping them achieve HIS definition of "a good idol." but that still denies alkaloid their autonomy so!! i don't like it!! and that ALSO brings up ANOTHER idea i see a lot in enstars which is individualism vs. collectivism. BUT I WILL SAVE THAT CONVERSATION FOR LATER!!

The quote Aira says at 5:50 is an actual quote from a German book of poems from the 1800s. It was written by a jewish german poet in 1821, and the poem collection its taken from was unfortunately burnt during the holocaust. Aira is definitely over reacting by quoting such a thing here, but I will admit I taken aback when Hiiro first mentioned his father burning any books Rinne brought back
oh that's very interesting! the quote seemed very out of left field at first, but I think it's mostly because it was coming from Aira? I don't really associate him with dropping literary quotes in the middle of conversations, but maybe that's just another side to his character I haven't seen yet :) but yeah, I was trying to not assume the worst about Hiiro and Rinne's hometown, but burning books is NOT a good sign.
@@yamjoon During MDM in the main story, Hiiro and Rinne eventually say things about their hometown that... don't exactly give us the best impression of it, and afaik it became sort of an issue, as Hiiro and Rinne are basically shown to be indigenous.
There's this gacha story called The Legend of Ox-Hour (Part B) which takes place after MDM. It kinda retcons what has been said about their hometown in the main story. Hiiro says here that their people are worried about them living in the city and sent them wooden ox statues which symbolized a prosperous future.
@@pearlofivris Even if it is a retcon, kinda doesn't change the whole "sussy cult village" they have going on.
If you look deeper into Japanese media, you can see that cults or hidden villages are a part of the culture, since they also exist in real life. Oyasumi Punpun and The Summer Hikaru Died are examples I can think of.
Personally, hearing the village send them a wooden cow for good fortune is really sweet considering the successor and aide, as well as the direct descendants of their chief have left the village. Doesn't change whatever else they did though. Also the hint that their village has connections or has had interactions with Kanata's cult family.

it's really funny that you mention physical violence not being explicitly forbidden and that akatsuki should have just killed rinne because there actually used to be a duel live where physical violence was allowed called the ryuuousen and winning those was how akatsuki rose to prominence in the first place
the "aira can't be that stupid" mantra you were repeating had me laughing so hard, cause honestly i felt the same way! eichi just always has this weird vibe surrounding him that feels like smth's up, or he knows more than anybody else, if you get what i mean?

There's honestly so much to say about Eichi (this is coming from someone who is very lukewarm about him), you could probably write an entire novel. The Enstars "antagonists" like Eichi and Rinne are so incredibly interesting to think about, definitely makes me want to turn them around in my head like a Rubiks cube.

Eichi is more like an anti-villain tbh, because what he did in the first game was out of spite against Yumenosaki Academy's negligence towards its students. The academy literally let people fight each other like starving dogs to climb up a harsh hierarchy. People used Yumenosaki Academy's name and the direction did not care Abt it. Yumenosaki is super corrupt and Eichi did what he was able to do, even though I believe that the police should've been involved in that situation

4:52 I think the brown that you are thinking of is because Arashi isn't a natural blonde unlike the others. Arashi dyed her hair, she is originally a brunette.
You can see this in the enstars anime and in the ! Era, I think. Which does make the question if there are other idols have fully dyed their hair (not including those with streaks of colour). Aira is a natural blonde canonically since he is a halfie, French-Japanese. The rest of the blondes, I don't know if that is their natural colour or if they had it dyed
