I listen to this January 2007 performance in Berlin, then the October 2007 Berlin performance. More strength and enthusiasm earlier on. By the October concert, she sounded wound down. Not surprising nor unexpected considering her circumstances. Still, she is one of the greatest singer songwriters of her generation. No one can take that away from her.

I guess each period of live concerts had an appeal of its own in a sense. She had a facet in her voice during the Tempodrom gig in October that I really like. A couple of weeks after, towards the end of that european tour in october, her voice somehow sounded completely different, pure brilliance in Zénith, Paris for example, her vocal improvisations were unbelievable there!
Here, she was far more present, vocally more solid and stable.
Not a single gig is really comparable to another one, that’s the fascinating thing in my opinion.
But the gigs from late 06 to early 07 have always been amongst my favourite ones, it was a very good period! 🎶

@@amysarchive I understand that it's probably difficult and sometimes unfair to compare performances. However, I will say that it's hard for me not to compare her 2007 gigs with her 2008s. So much had changed and not for the better. At least in her 2007 performances, Amy was still Amy. In her 2008s, to me, she was a mimic of her former self. Most people will probably disagree. It's just my opinion.

@@DmPmRr1959 No, you're totally right. She was way stronger here than at any point in 2008.

@@amysarchive I had a small epiphany. I realize I am not judging her performances solely on the sound of her voice. I have been rating them more on her demeanor. I watch her Album De La Semaine, Paradiso, Glastonbury 2007, Shepherd's Bush 2007 performances, how she appears on stage, how she engages with her audiences. Then, I look at Lollapalooza, when she was disengaged and running on autopilot. There were other times as well. Her voice was fine, but she wasn't all there. Those are the things I notice more, I suppose.

@@DmPmRr1959 Yeah, I understand! The presence she had in the early stages of gigs and tours after Back To Black came out, gradually became less and less… I feel like there should be more published material of the period from November 2006 to March 2007… During that time, SO many gigs took place and the amount of professional footage or at least audio recordings that we've got to see, is ridiculous, considering that really was Amy at her best.
I‘d rather go without all the festival broadcasts from 2008 instead, like Lisbon, Glastonbury etc. Sure, those were her biggest appearances and some of her interpretations were incredible, but the public perception of who she was is sometimes quite reduced to that facet in my opinion, which (as you wrote before), was often not the real Amy.
I'm sure that much more professional material exists from the earlier B2B stages… Hope that some of it will surface one day.

From 0:00 to 0:06 it's from @AOL Winter Warmer 2006..but it's ok I can understand you, sometimes I do these things too and you also did a perfect edit

@This Is My Winehouse Thank you! :) Yes, the beginning is from AOL 2006. I added it as there‘s no version of B2B from Kalkscheune with a ‚proper‘ beginning - every recording starts right in the middle of the first chords..

@@memoriesmarmymind...5587 Yeah sure, but in fact I only used those 5 seconds as a completion for the version in order to have a decent start, so for me it doesn't seem necessary really. However you're right - to be fair I didn't quite expect loads of people to notice it as it's the same pianist and nearly the same tempo :)
