My son was born in 1995 in October - Loves everything Halloween. I had bought a set of those from Walmart. They are from late 90's. Unfortunately, we had a couple of spook houses that my BFF and I did for our young kids - with their T ball team. Well some of the other kids tore them up trying to play pinata - with them. I just remember, they had a lot of cool stuff in late 90's for Holidays. I just started watching - Love seeing all the vintage finds !!
I have the candy jar that matches that clear HALLOWEEN mug with the trick-or-treaters. My mom had two of them in the 80s and 90s, and she gave one to me. SUPER nostalgic!!!
I would have to say height wise, the Garfield’s are the same but the one that was already at home is slightly more “chonky” 😊 The smaller face on the new one does create the illusion that it’s smaller.
I have to agree with Laura- The recently purchased Garfield looks slightly smaller. They look like twins where one twin is slightly taller and larger. I imagine they were two different runs at the factory and the supplies had changed slightly(the eyes) and the person sewing made slightly smaller seams leading to a slightly bigger Garfield after it was stuffed. The paws even look slightly bigger on the older one. But, they are close- really close.
Idk about the size since the newer one has been squished, but the one you’ve had longer looks fed up with the newer one hahaha and the newer one looks like he has a hang over 😂😂 seriously though I love Garfield myself so they are both a winner
For items you want to keep in your own personal collection that have a bit of damage, a chip like the ghostie has can be 'fixed' with a swipe of clear nail polish so it's shiny again!! You guys are so much fun! I have three guys like your guy with the 'fur hat' LOL. one of mine shuffles forward, rings a bell attached to his palm& his eyes light up red & it makes creepy noises. The other one is HUGE & hangs from like clear plastic fishing string. His arms are stretched out in front of him like Superman, his eyes light up red & he SHAKES VIOLENTLY. neither of them make any damn sense & I fkn love them. The big one is my 'baby' LOL!! Back when I got them, I found a CASE of the flying ones & bought them all lol. ( It was the mid90s& they were cheap as hell!) I ended up hanging onto them until I started ebaying & sold all but the two I kept. They were sooooo cool! I've never seen the style of the one you found!! So many cool finds!!🌈👻🌈
😂 I think one Garfield has a potato body with big eyes and the other a bit slender with small eyes. I feel they look very similar lol love the clear Halloween mug. So cute
How about taking one of your new tablecloths and making foldable, sizable totes to hold your estate sale finds while you're shopping? You can use it all the time and make other shoppers jealous of the cool design!!

It looks as though your original Garfield has been taken apart washed and re-stuffed as you said the stuffing is different so maybe that’s a solution for you

The newbie looks more authentic and, squished aside, if you were to take a piece of yarn and measure their width, in fact, the new one looks larger. Height, they likely stand the same.
