    to win you have to make good analysis of succes and failure : one third of the french team was already world champion (less 20 - twice).
    French team is a good defense, but also a good scrum, but a good line-out, ruck, maul, good winger, good half fly, good foot game ! that is just a golden generation that could win th WC.

    As an Englishman I feel that we just don’t have the players to compete internationally at the moment. I’m not embarrassed to say that nor was I embarrassed by the defeat on Saturday against a good strong french side. Rugby in England is full of problems. Not least is the poor financial situation of most of our premier league clubs which is leading to an exodus of our players to France which I suppose is quite ironic. Borthwick is a good honourable man but he has been presented with a hot potato.

      @paulmulryne8405 Рік тому +3

      @@taraishot100 I'm not sure its about who's coaching, or who is at 10 etc. We have systemic issues in the structure of the game. Jones was partly the problem, but far from all of it. The Premiership is the greatest weakness as it allows players like Smith and Dombrant to believe they are worldies - they aren't. The other issue we have is our media, who love to tell average players they are worldies because they look great against average defences. Test rugby is so far removed from the 'product' we have developed domestically.

    Je dirais que nous avions aussi beaucoup de joueurs importants manquants au début du Tournoi. Notre équipe a besoin de vivre plus longtemps ensemble. Le match contre Wales le confirmera. Cependant pour moi l'Irlande est bien la meilleure nation mondiale en ce moment, ils ont été plus costaud à l'impact contre nous. Mais en effet la coupe du monde est chez nous et l'avantage terrain n'est pas négligeable. Pour en revenir au Anglais ils ne sont pas devenus mauvais du jour au lendemain. Je fais confiance à Borthwick pour aligner la meilleure équipe possible, et je leur souhaite de retrouver leur place qui devrait être dans les 4 premiers IRB. N'empêche 18 ans d'abstinence en Angleterre, je vous le dit ça fait du bien pour un Français.

      Je suis d'accord, Galthié n'a pas pu aligner son équipe type une seule fois dans le tournoi. Contre l'Irlande, l'absence de Danty, Villère, Mauvaka s'est fait ressentir clairement. Et physiquement, on était un peu en dessous des irlandais. Par contre j'ai été admiratif des irlandais face à l'Ecosse qui ont complètement remanié l'équipe avec toutes les blessures, Andy Farrel a fait un coaching incroyable. Les anglais ont un énorme chantier devant eux, comme nous il y a quelques années. Galthié a mis 4 ans à reconstruire après des années catastrophiques.

    Always good to have the views of those not involved in the 6N. And they have a ring of truth about them. England have been struggling for a bit. Both with Jones and now Borthwick. Without naming names, pretty much all the team is underperforming with the exception of Freddie Steward (full back) who has great potential. The defence needs a mountain of work and in attack, there was no real penetration despite a good bit of possession. A rookie half back pair weren't really the choice against France's excellent operators and it showed. I can't see things improving greatly against Ireland next weekend! There's an uphill battle to be able to have any sort of a reasonable world cup. But as an England supporter, you've got to have hope. As a French supporter said to me at the game, France have been in this position. He was smiling.

    We got whipped 1-23. I was in agreement that Eddie needed to go whether it was his fault or not because he had lost the faith of the fans and players. Borthwick was never going to wave a magic wand but this was maddening. Our 2nd row were destroyed and that set the whole team off misfiring kicks, passes, and tackles. wow..60 seconds review on what was possibly the best french game attack,defence,maul domination that should have the AB coaches who were at that game watching, seriously worried we cannot match that and also to think Ireland out muscled France...NZ are in trouble at this world cup as we cannot compete at the breakdown France have a loose trio around 6 ft 5 in height and dominate the maul, their attack from the maul is wave of runners at pace in a 3 pod system that Ireland use and is hard to stop as shown by our losses to Ireland 3 times and france also on northern tour..Super Rugby at present unlike 9 years ago does not prepare us for this type of game, our AB backs are not the problem, we are going to get shown up in the forwards at the breakdown, we are masters of 1 out passing to stationary players unlike the 3 pod system at speed going over the gainline, Foster has not taken any steps forward since helping hansen back on Lions tour here in 2017 when the rot started

This is why Tuilagi is still playing despite making his debut in 2011and constantly being injured. Is anyone else starting to question Slade's quality? He also seems too slow for modern rugby though he does have some skills. Let's hope to see some hunger vs Ireland.

      'Being number 1' right now means nothing in the bigger picture... in reality there's very little between SA, Fra, Ire, NZ, Aus.
      Don't forget Ire and Fra at home barely edged SA and Aus just a few months ago. There was nothing between those sides in those games.
      The true #1 will be decided in a few months time at the world cup. I think France will do it!

      @@robbiejohnston2023 You're joking right? Have you looked at the actual WC pools? Aus have the easiest path to the semis. They should win their pool (where wales and fiji are their stiffest competition) and they'd be favorites to beat the losers of the Eng/Arg/Jap pool.
      Besides their favorable wc draw, Aus were every bit as good as France and Ireland last November. Did you not watch those games? They lost to France by 1pt and Ire by 3 and they were pressing hard at the closing stages of both games.
