How is it related while making rpd

Contour is the bulge on tooth, it’s helps in determining survey lines i.e high, med and low
According to the survey line we decide which clasp (direct retainer) we use like in high survey line we have deep undercut we give wrought wire clasp as it is flexible similarly in low survey line modified T clasp is used.
So we get to know how is the undercut and decide designs accordingly.

Determine the most advantageous path of insertion.
Locate proximal tooth surfaces - guiding surfaces.
Locate and measure undercuts.
Identify hard or soft tissue interferences.
Refer any Rpd book for the same in detail
