Now, the BBC has apologised for falsely claiming "in some of our output" that the act made it a criminal offence in Scotland to make “derogatory comments” based on the legislation's protected characteristics.

They added: "We apologise for any confusion caused and have reminded our teams of the importance of accuracy in our output."
A large amount of the controversy surrounding the new law focused on the expanded grounds for prosecution on the grounds of “stirring up hatred” against a group.
Since 1986, it has been illegal in the UK to stir up racial hatred and homophobic hate crimes have been on the statute books since 2008 in England and Wales.
The new law creates new offences for stirring up hatred against people because of their disability, religion, transgender identity, sexuality, age or variation in sex characteristics.

A total lack of investment in the fiscal and infrastructures necessary to provide a realistic move to Independence - a £ 20 Billion budget deficit and a total lack of recognition that the RUK is the prime marketplace (60+% by revenue) as well as being the only real means of access to other markets is certainly not that.
When you pretend that you don't understand the so called budget deficit you expose yourself as a unionist, so stop pretending otherwise.

Scotland is healthier, wealthier and happier since direct rule from Westminster ceased. 15 years ago 3 of the top 10 poorest regions in EUROPE were in Scotland. Now 9 of the top 10 areas are in England and none are in Scotland. English folk need to stop buying into these lies about the SNP and start demanding change for themselves.

What this is really about is Youssaf expects to lose left leaning voters to Labour in the more urban Scottish central belt whatever he does, so he's decided to avoid loss of votes to the Tories and Liberal Democrats in Scottish rural seats where the SNP have a better chance as neither of those opponents are doing particularly well.
