How you got this captured is epic beyond belief
I lost my father back on august 19th and my life changed forever. i had to travel back to my work which was on the other side of canada. I was at a crossroads with deciding to stay at my job or to go back home to be there for my mother. I was driving down the highway listening to my new release playlist on spotify as i do every friday. All of a sudden this song comes on out of blue and i can safely say Ive never been hit as hard and deeply by a songs lyrics. It crippled me with tears to the point where i had to pull over. I drove back and packed my bags and left for home the next day. This song is beyond special to me. Thanks so much.
I'm so sorry for your loss, it's life changing. I lost my beloved Dad in 2014 and my life hasn't been the same since. He was my person, this song really hits home. I think that's beautiful you decided to go to your Mum. Take care.

Thank you for this, Dean. My Mum died 2 weeks ago last Sunday night and this just started playing on the radio the first time I got in the car after she died. I believe that it was sent to me because music means so much to me.

Thank you Dean for this beautiful song i lost my mother 3 months ago and had this song at her funeral, its getting me through a lot of dark times, it will always be with me now. i would love to hear you sing this for my mum Linda she meant the absolute world to me
I heard this song in the car and it blew me away with tears 😭.. You literally put into words what I felt like when I was losing my Mum. Without any warning, I got a call just after Xmas two years back, telling me my Mum wouldn’t see out the month. I’m not a strong person & my body went into panic & didn’t know what to do or say. I could have said a million things but nothing was gonna change what was about to happen. I went to the hospital so unprepared & her eyes lit up when she saw me walk in. I told her I loved her & played with her hair, I said, I hoped some things I’d done in my life made her proud of me, but I didn’t want to discuss her dying, because I wasn’t sure how she would respond to it. So I put on the bravest face (to not show her the panic I was holding back). I didn’t want to let her see how a part of me was dying with her, me knowing, I was going to be left living without her in my life. She always idolised me and put me on a pedestal, used to tell people “Leanne’s so beautiful, she’d look good in rags”.. All the while I was thinking, beauty only runs skin deep & I am broken inside. I didn’t have the strength to be there every last minute, to cuddle her & watch her take her last breath. I told her I’d be back to visit tomorrow. I got the call the next day that she was gone. If I could have that moment over again, I would probably have done things differently, but I’d just gone through kemo myself and was so weak mentally and physically. Not a day goes by where I don’t cry and miss her & this song moved me so much. There are no tomorrows anymore “for me or her” and I hang on to every memory I have. Love your parents, they aren’t here forever, so cherish every living moment you have with them. We can never prepare for living without them.
Ive had these feelings. But i dont have money. So it was just me, in a closet recording music. Passing it out around to some friends and sharing the feeling as much as i could. There's nothing like those tears and skin tiggling sensations when you hear the playbac the first time.

Dean, this song randomly played on Spotify today while I was struggling to work. My dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 9th. I wasn’t ready and didn’t see it coming. This song hits so close to home for me. There is a special bond that a man shares with his father and you’ve done such an amazing job of capturing some of that. Thank you.

I loved this! I lost my mom to cancer on August 20, 2017, and this song describes perfectly how I felt when she was sick. She was only 60 when she died. I still miss her just as much now as I did when she first passed. Thank you so much for such a special song. Also, I’m so happy to hear that your dad is now in remission.

I’ve been privileged to both watch and help several musical artists & entertainer friends of mine to create their songs - and you’re absolutely right…you truly don’t want to stuff it up when you have such an amazing chorus - but then you get the verses right, and that electric shock that rips through the entire room when you hear it back that first time…it’s amazing.
I never fail to be amazed at people like yourself - it’s a wonderful gift you have.
I really do believe more folks need to watch this type of creative process. Music is a huge part of my life, even now all these years later, but a talent like yours - with a song like this - it truly is a gift for not just your dad, but the entire world.

My Momma was sick for the three years before we lost her. Many hospitalizations and so many doctors saying you may want to head home she won’t make it through the night. Every time she pulled through. Then one morning I had a voicemail, I called and they told me she passed away peacefully in her sleep. I’m an empath and I felt an almost magnetic pull to my Momma….come to find out it was at her exact time of death. And I couldn’t fly due to being 27 weeks pregnant. My last conversation with her I told her how much I love her. 🙏🏼💔 I’m forever grateful for that conversation.
Thank you I lost my dad in May of this year, it was one of the hardest thing to go through. He was the last of my family as I lost my mom in 2013 to cancer.

I’m a huge fan after seeing all your videos. Congrats on getting your songs out there. Love from 🇨🇦 My dad also has cancer but he’s not dead, so I understand the struggle of death and sickness. It’s a probability and it’s scary. I also have many friends who lost their fathers to cancer, at least four. It’s sad but your lyrics emote what we all feel.

I lost my mon in october of 2021. It was sudden we found out she had cancer and then a week later my mom was gone. It has absolutely been the hardest thing i have ever gone through and still going through. Thank you for this song.
