True! I love her character now more than ever. She is definitely a morally grey character, but that is what makes her interesting. Her intentions are good, but she has been going down a dark path for a while now much like Viren (until he decided to give up dark magic). Her character can still either go either way. I’m thinking she might have a similar path to Azula in ATLA, but I’m really intrigued to see where her character will go next
I love that Callum and Ezran aren’t holding back on Claudia anymore. They now understand she’s a threat and a danger. Callum removing her necklace and almost letting her drown her was savage! 😂No mercy! Lmao I love it.

i agree. even Ezran has given up on her. when she said she would destroy all of them if she had to, that's when we all knew she is too far gone. now that she has lost hope of getting arovoses prison, she may now set her sights on revenge, since technically the dragon prince group was responsible for her fathers death, twice now. i find that when a person loses everything, they have nothing to lose. that makes them more unpredictable, and incredibly dangerous to themselves and others around them. and a dark mage who lost her father, and has ni sense of right and wrong, enough to make me nervous. and i can think of some young kings, mages, elves, and dragons who should be getting nervous as well.

That's an excellent point. Aaravos never said that the child literally had to die. He just said Viren needed their blood. And Claudia was losing a lot of it so that should be enough to make the resurrection permanent.
Forgot to mention that Callum used dark magic again while on the boat. We see two snakes roaming under the deck which implies that he used the chain snake spell offscreen.

Honestly, glad they didn't kill off Amaya. Not because it couldn't have been good, but because if it had, it would have been really dumb given the situation. Amaya surrendered herself to her fate while Zubaya was RIGHT THERE within lightning breath and stomping range. All the characters acting like there's nothing they can do while sitting on the back of an Archdragon that's at least 3 stories tall was the most insulting BS. I saw the death flags. I was prepared for Amaya to die. But having Zubaya right there and not doing anything would have made for a really cheap and really stupid death. I'm glad they didn't kill her. Not because I love Amaya too much to want her to die, but because it would have been really disrespectful to her character and the audience to kill her off so terribly. If Zubaya was swipping at monsters relentlessly and barely beating them back, then the momment of Amaya's surrender to the inevitable would have been understandable. The idea that even Zubaya couldn't save her could have let that death scene play out honorably. But as written, it's a good thing Amaya and Corvus found shelter because letting them die that unceremoniously would have been really stupid and really insulting.
Literally that scene was so frustrating like 2 seconds earlier zubeia was killing those bears left and right but Amaya is in danger and suddenly she does nothing?? 💀
My best way to fix that moment is that Zubeia likely would have hurt/killed Amaya by trying to save her. Because she's so big, it's easy to hit Amaya along with the corrupted Banthers and she didn’t want to take that chance. Not the best, but still a reasonable explanation

Claudia's main flaws are her inability to accept loss and to make difficult choices. When she was forced to choose between going with her mother or staying with her father, her mother made the choice for her by leaving her behind. The same thing happened in Season 3 when she was forced to choose between going with Soren or staying with her father. Not wanting to choose, Soren chose for her. Those 2 flaws are what make her the perfect puppet for Aaravos. Whether she redeems herself in the end or falls into the abyss for good, I have a feeling it will ultimately end tragically for her. By that time she will probably have used so much dark magic that it either corrodes her body and soul to dust or transforms her into some Lovecraftian horror that our protagonists will be forced to put down.

I have no clue what will happen to Teri's attachment for Claudia. I recall in season 4 that Teri was shocked when Claudia cruelly taunted Rayla using her coin-trapped relatives. In other instances Teri has shown restraint, expressing to Claudia that he believes she has a reason for her actions but the Rayla taunting was a crack in their connection. Season 5 shows that he is willing to support, and assist Rayla but as in season 4 there has to be some valid moral or ethical reason in order for him endorse her darkness. Viren points out at the end of season 5, he wants nothing to do with the dark path that brough him to this cross roads; the path he brought his daughter to. A clear theme throughout the show is attachment. Attachment drives every character, yet, the values of each group are defined by their ultimate goal. GROUP-A wishes to save Zadia, and stop cruel, or overtly sinister actors, and GROUP-B, the "sinister actors", are in fact people or beings who value, and pursue power, control, and domination. Both Soren and Claudia have, since season 1 remained troubled and desperate for their fathers approval, this used to drive Soren, until he finally saw the reality (maybe). Claudia, however, remains desperate to prove herself. Soren may still in a moment of fear, and desperation betray the group for Claudia or his father. Likely Claudia. Claudia seems to be progressively getting more desperate. In a moment of fear, and desperation she may rationalize sacrificing Teri, however emotionally difficult that is for me to write, it is VERY, VERY likely. alternatively Teri may turn her around, and Claudia goes into exile. Calumn may turn bad, but that has not really been set up properly, so for now unlikely but his use of dark magic causes him to feel shame, guilt, fear, and this may cause him to use it again, as he did when on the crab-ship. other possibilities abound. Teri may abandon Claudia, Teri may get killed by the resurrected Aaravos (as will some other loved characters), or Teri may sacrifice himself to save Claudia. Again attachment runs deep, fear runs high, and need becomes want, nay, must be or have. Everyone's attachment leads them to a specific outcome. The question for all the characters is who is NEXT. Someone will or a few characters will die in season 6, and season 7, the question remains who. Whose arc appears to be ending? Which beloved creature will fall into the category of disposable actor? Cannon fodder for the spiralling events of the next 2 seasons? I personally speculate that Teri will meet his demise, whether heroically, cowardly, or in horror. When Claudia feels abandoned, lost, afraid, and angry she will turn against him. In her fear and anger she will commit to the darkness, more so than Viren. Teri is her tie to the light, if Teri should interfere anymore, become a burden, as already mentioned, abandon or appear to abandon, or if Claudia feels abandoned she will turn more toward evil. I love this tiny detail in the intro sequence, in season 4 episode 4 and in season 5 episode 8, Callum is the one who turns to stone instead of Viren. In both episodes something significant happens to Callum.
agreed and my take is she Lost her mom.... lost... her brother almost three times through the Corse of her Adventure trying to find the two Family members of the Sworn family they were Suppose to protect... then Kill... (being a betrayer has Mental damages ) Then Finds out her father is truly a monster for a time. She is using magic that is known to Destroy your body and soul (at least mutate or change it) She Brought back to life two people she dearly loves which has its own Consequences. (I'm counting her brother becuse lets face it he was on the brink) ITs no wonder she is going NUTS!! and being more creepie if anything She was for a wile A very strong character but now....oof it's just like Spiderman 2099 He is merely just Overly stressed out and Turning for the worse and also lost all if not more Family then she ever did. she was handling it up until a point And one last thing Both of them are, Making Huge Path altering choices that changing the Corse of Huge events that the outcomes that we cant see coming yet. At this pace, there won't be much left of Claudia at the finale, both figuratively and literally. (Spolier) It is ironic to see Claudia lose her foot since her name originates from the latin word 'claudus,' which means "to limp." The limping girl still wades into the sea of blood to follow her father's footsteps.
I think the writing has been much worse since the timeskip, but this season is an overall improvement. I’m also confused by the ending of this season, because the good guys objectively just won and I don’t see a way forward for the villains. It was also frustrating to see a lot of conflict that could’ve been solved by not communicating (ex: dragon queen not telling anyone about getting corrupted or Soren somehow being the only one to see it)
Here is the thing: Neither the Dragon Queen nor Soren knew that this was the type of wound that would fester and turn her, who would have told them about that and when? Rayla and Callum knew that from Jania, but the Queen never let them know she had been bitten (arguably they should have noticed but apparently they didn't). So the Queen just thought it to be a smaller issue than it turned out being, and so did Soren (or else he would have said something). Is the fact that the two cast members who would know that the bite would cause problems did not notice the bite convenient writing? Yes. But at least the refusal of the Queen and Soren to share about it makes more sense this way.
This season felt better than S4 but still felt kinda mid imo. I didn't really care for Amaya or Janai's storylines like at all. If it didn't directly connect to what Ez, Rayla and Callum were doing it just felt kinda pointless. Soren was great though, loved all his scenes.
I hope Claudia losing a leg may slow her down a little when it comes to dark magic. I still believe Claudia's life and soul are being destroyed every time she uses dark magic, and maybe losing a leg will allow her to reflect on that. However, I doubt she'll do any reflecting and will just double down on her plans.
This season was definitely much better than the last.Still not perfect but its a step in a right direction.Finnegrin was with no doubt the mvp of the season,he was just dope af as whole(his ship,his design). And still the Sun elves arc is the most boring thing in the series(the only cool thing in there was the Blood Huntress or whatever her name was)
It’s Kim'dael and she was first introduced in the Bloodmoon Huntress graphic novel that takes place when Rayla was a kid. She actually reminds me very much of Hama from Avatar the last airbender.
Thank you the sun elves feel like such a waste of time. I just slowly skip and skim the scenes. It feels like we waste sm time. Like oh no we need to reach the prison let’s just be goofy and quirky. It feels like both sides do that. Claudia isn’t a threat I’ve never felt threatened after season 3 they’ve just become sorta useless

They both were hunted down and eventually trapped by fire related factions Hama imprisoned by Fire Nation soilders and Kim’dael was bound by the Sunfire Elf queen. There is some difference to themselves but also similarities.

I really enjoyed the different perspectives on dark magic and essentially morality from characters like Callum, Viren and Claudia. Callum had to accept that there are some things you can't control and that in life, there are times when you need to do unpleasant things for the greater good or to protect your loved ones (which also helped him master the Water arcanum). . Claudia and Viren are particularly interesting since they've practically been inversed when compared to Season 1, with Viren completely renouncing dark magic and realizing what he's become and no longer lying to himself about acting only for the "greater good". Claudia on the other hand sees dark magic as a means to an end and will no longer back down from what she sees as necessary, no mattter the cost, while in earlier seasons she wasn't willing to sacrifice people, especially her friends or Soren and tried to reason with others, while feeling bad about having to kill creatures. Fast forward to season 5; she would have tortured, maybe even killed Ezran and Callum in order to free Aaravos, even though she grew up with them and they hadn't actually done anything to her by that point apart from stopping her from getting Zym.
I was so annoyed that Viren didn’t at least leave a message in the dirt like that’s what I would do. Chose to die but give her closure so she doesn’t continue the path!
We know that Aaravos can probably comunicate with Claudia (since he told her about the thirty day thing and all) so he could easily tell her how to bring her father back. If she knows, she'll sacrifice the homunculus for sure. The question is wether he'll tell her, and why.
Her own severed leg might work too. Aaravos never said a child had to die for the resurrection to become permanent. He said he needed their blood and Claudia's losing a lot of it.
My Theory on The Dragon Prince Season 6: Stars Team Zym will take Aaravos' Prison Pearl to Sunfire Queen Janai for protection. At the same time, Aaravos tells Claudia Viren is dead and use his death to solidify her vengeance against Team Zym and their allies. With Claudia firmly at his side, he will instruct her to meet Kim'dael, Aaravos' loyal assassin. Aaravos had her assassinate Luna Tenebris and later sent her to kill Aditi until her imprisonment via the neck collar Aditi tricked her into wearing. Because of the incident, Aaravos personally killed Aditi by swallowing her soul. Meanwhile, Karim and his followers heal Sol Regem and start an invasion to usurp Janai. However, Aaravos escapes his prison with Claudia and Kim'dael's help leading to an eventual duel between Aaravos and Sol Regem. Aaravos wins and plans to head to the Starscraper to retrieve the Nova Blade and the Corona of the Heavens' crown: two artifacts he needs to invade and destroy the Startouch Elves. At the Sea of the Outcast, there were statues of a possible Startouch Elf Queen giving a depressed Aaravos her hand. Her relationship with Aaravos is unclear: sister? lover? friend? It is unclear, but we might see her in Season 6: Stars of the Dragon Prince. Regarding Sir Sparklepuff, I think Aaravos genuinely wants to save Viren as he looked very shocked when Viren refused to sacrifice Sir Sparklepuff for his life. This may indicate that Aaravos is grateful to anyone who helps him even though they are his chess pawns.
That's a cool theory. My theory is that aaravos is an archdragon cause he called the dragon queen hot. Specifically the son of Luna tenebris, and he's pissed he didnt get the throne when she died. Or just me ? 😅 For some reason, i just remembered the same green eye colour that callum and claudia both have. So i put two and two together, because 1, Callum has an interest in magic ( which probably has no relevance) and 2, we have no clue who his father is. Butttttt when Aaravos said it was Sir Sparklepuff i was relieved 😅
If that was true they definitely would have been dropping hints to it all throughout the previous seasons. Such a large revelation wouldn't just come out of left field like that.

I think Claudia is also in a way a metaphor for people who abuse and manipulate others constantly for their own gain but have a “im a victim” mentality. That last scene where she’s sobbing after losing a leg with terry gave me those vibes so much. From her POV look what they did to me when I’m just doing all of this for my dad, Terry who loves her gives us the enabler POV who eats it up cuz he loves her and who views her as this amazing person with the heart of gold when objectively sure you are trying to save your dad but your also gonna unleash the biggest evil possible in the process. They’re both blind to how that aspect makes everything their doing net negative however you paint it. I’m constantly nervous for Terry around her I think part of her arc will be to sacrifice him for ingredients and tbh idk if he’ll live through that one OR he’ll see her for what she’s actually doing past his rose colored glasses of his love for her and leaves her for his own good but she’ll see as the last straw that broke the camels back and will go full monster after that. We have to remember that in her POV callum and Ezran mistrusting her and “choosing” and elf (derogatory) over her and then Soren leaving her after she fixed him are betrayals not how these characters see it as taking the obviously good side of the conflict. For Claudia what’s “right” is whatever keeps her and her loved ones okay and in power “you’re ok now” she doesn’t believe there’s an objective way to see any of this. Poor Terry ugh like I hope it doesn’t come to that.
I really hope they delve deeper into the past of aravos and startouch elves altogether. I also think we'll see Callum learn all six primal sources and become powerful enough to rival aravos which would be an awesome thing to see.

I personally think if you were to break this down I would basically say that actions come with consequences. I mean Claudia is constantly willing to do everything to save her father and is truly falling deeper and deeper Into Darkness and if Viren is dead at the start of the next season I truly believe that she would try and maybe make a deal with Aravos to bring him back to life again. Of course the Dragon gang would try and stop her. But I think the big lesson to take it away is the same I see in a lot of cases in real life : the more one tries to control something the more they will lose control. until that's what gives them power is taken away from them. ( PS I just came up with that quote myself) what I basically mean is she is constantly trying to control everything to make sure that things happen how they're supposed to happen in her mind. but I think viren put it best in season 4 they had 30 days to just live their lives to the fullest and enjoy what life brings. but instead she just wanted something that was lost. also this has nothing to do with this particular video but I also want to kind of talk about Zim's mother for a bit. spoiler alert you have been warned! she is currently dealing with a form of corruption that made her have a vision ( or maybe something else) of her late mate. I kind of like the dynamic the two of them have because it does feel like they have known each other for centuries and the advice he gives her ( which I will not reveal) is pretty good at advice and applies to a lot more things than just her. Also I have a feeling that we will see more of the mushroom mage in the next volume.

I feel like it’s going to be the other way around Aaravos has his eyes more on Claudia than Viren now, he probably will use her grief and turn it into vengeance, I mean no way she is done going down the wrong path, I bet at the end her heir will be fully white representing that she’s gone without saving
Might just be me, but I kind of feel like Claudia is going to use Terry as a sacrifice for her magic. Maybe not, since it would be very dark, but I feel like her character is going in that direction.
Season 4: Soren pleading with Claudia, imploring her to see the evils of dark magic and Aaravos' cause...Claudia emotionally shuts down after a while and says nothing to her brother. Season 5: Claudia pleading with Ezran and Callum, imploring them to see the "righteousness" of her cause and the good of dark magic. Ezran and Callum emotionally shuts down and says nothing to their former friend. The two couldn't speak underwater but it's clear they do not want to engage Claudia in a conversation. I like the parallels here.
Ezran and Callum looked like they were willing to talk, it was only after Claudia attacked them things turned messy. I wish they had a chance to have a proper conversation. Last time Claudia and Callum talked was at the Moon Nexus...
While Claudia is intelligent she severely lacks wisdom especially in matters concerning her father. In the first arc the morality of his actions go completely over her head and she shows to completely be unable to understand why people would get in her fathers way to protect humans from the potential threat of Xaidia not considering the fact that he incited some of these threats through killing the Dragon King and taking his egg. On top of the fact that if it wasn't for Ezra's mercy in book 3 she would have been exacted for treason. At this point the only way I can see Claudia finally seeing the error of her ways is either after everything she went through to free Aravos he betrays her or her father stands in her way. I have a feeling that when she finally understands the gravity of her actions it will be a very heartbreaking moment.
One thing we need to look at is the use of Dark Magic by Callum and Claudia, both have used dark Magic in order to protect a loved one, Claudia of course to save her father but also Callum used dark magic to free himself in order to save Rayla. In the final Callum judge Claudia as evil for using dark magic while he has done the same a few hours earlier, quite a bit of hypocrisy if you ask me.
He used dark magic to save Rayla both times. While Claudia is using it to save her dad, she is trying to unleash the greatest evil in the world and refuses to see that aspect of it.
I was honestly really worried after the less than stellar return of Dragon Prince last season, but they managed to recover and make a season that brought back a lot more tension and the respect for viewers to connect the dots themselves a bit more. Last season just had me and my watchmates think “right, this is a children’s show” way more than we were comfortable with, and this season toned that down to a respectable level. Finnegrins Wake was an amazing penultimate episode, and felt like there actually some tension in the scenes. There are still some nitpicks, like the events in the opening never really have any explanation (probably another web novel I haven’t read), the world once again feels tiny when a distance that took two seasons to cross is crossed in half an episode, and Zubeia’s illness being healed by mushroom elves should’ve really been left off on a cliffhanger, because now we just know she’s probably gonna be alright and won’t need to be thinking about that for the next year or so. Beyond that, I really enjoyed this season, once again I’m just glad the show didn’t continue all the concerning trends season 4 was starting.

As someone part of the Deaf community, I love Amaya, but why this season is no one else signing to her?! Yes, Gren can interpret, but the myth needs to die that deaf people can rely on reading lips! Even with context, hearing and non-hearing people trained to read lips can only understand about 30% of what is said! So why are all the characters not consciously including her into conversations?! Like, LOOKING at her! And signing for themselves to speak with her?! I want to scream at Callum, “YOU KNOW ASL! WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING WITH YOUR AUNT?! INCLUDE HER!” “JANAI! YOU ARE HER LOVE! SIGN WHEN YOU SPEAK TO HER SO SHE CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!” TDLR: please oh please, make the characters that love Amaya like family treat her like family. Be inclusive of her. She doesn’t have to accommodate to a hearing world. The world, her own family and friends must accommodate to her. As my Deaf grandma would say, “A Deaf person can do anything, but hear.” It’s just a bit obvious that the writers are hearing and haven’t spent enough time thinking for how a Deaf character lives in the world.

You know considering that a tree elf is dating a dark mage gives us a glimpse of politics in elves society. We already know that the sky, moon, and sun elves are against dark magic, but what about the other elves what are their views on dark magic? How does the star, ocean, and tree elves view dark magic? Did they all agree on the humans banishment? And is Aavaros really all that bad? I mean I know he is set up to be the villain, but I see him more of a trickster.
I think the majority and leaders are against it and decided on the banishment, but there are those who either don’t care like at scumport, or don’t see it as specifically bad, like terry the writers say he understand why some use it as long as you do it for what’s needed and don’t go too far
Claudia is definitely a tragic villain that won’t turn back. She will constantly use dark magic to over compensate for her own mistakes, and this will corrupt her in the long run just like her father.

I think Claudia’s heart is in the right place as she’s trying to save her father and the ones she loves, but her mind is in the wrong place thinking she has to resort to dark magic to do so.
If anything the story is setting Claudia up to be the major villain. Avaaros has stated multiple times that Claudia is far more powerful than her father. It would not surprise me Claudia's father sacrificed himself in order to save her. It would push her to the point of becoming a true dark mage. She's the perfect example of a tragic villain

I don’t think Soren actually died as a boy. I think Viren’s dream of Soren perishing was a reflection of Viren using Dark Magic to cure his son from his Illness.
During the finale of Aaravos, I want to see Aaravos at his lowest point, to see him break down in rage and madness and slowly accept his defeat. He has always acted superior so It would be very interesting to see him realize he might not escape or he might actually DIE and have his immortality stripped away. Also, I really hope they go the novablade route to kill him. (Idk If this sounds right but you get what I'm saying? I hope we get to see him get some time to shine because its seems like he is getting released next season. Also, the part where he said that sir sparklepuff or whatever was he and Virens child was kinda weird and I'm actually somewhat surprised that Viren decided not to kill the thing. It also seemed Aaravos was shocked that he didn't do so and was kinda annoyed that he did all that just to die. Aaravos definitely has some sort of connection with Viren (and maybe even felt a little betrayed?).. Viren's visions while he was unconscious was also really interesting to dive into more of his character and morality.
(SPOILER INCOMING) I hate how callum used dark magic for the second time. It only furthers his addiction and dirtiest his soul. But I did notice that everytime he uses dark magic he gains a new Arcanum.
That final point I didn’t notice could it be referring to how his human use of dark magic is what actually allows him to use primal magic cause that could be something he has to face in the end
Claudia has lost a leg in the season so maybe this will turn her hair more white re growing a limb and then during the final season her hair will turn pure white after some incredibly powerful spell and that will signify the point she becomes irredeemable
Dark magic doesn’t really need to be of a dead creature, since they were shown using a horn of a dragon that was very much alive and healthy. If anything Dark magic is absorbing magic from another creature with magic and releasing it back out in a new form.
Claudia had it worst than anybody in the show. She’s constantly seeking for her fathers approval by putting herself and her friends in danger. Without resting or taking care of herself. Even though her father will never give her the satisfaction
I saw an article after watching this season, and one word they used which had been on the tip of my tongue to describe this season was spot on. Meandering. So much nonsense, padding, filler and more in what is supposed to be a season of actual buildup and suspense. So many useless side quests that led to nothing, pointless scenes and I'm beginning to see flanderisation occur to literally every charcter. Ezran especially got on my nerves, and Soren just did nothing at all, in fact, no one did anything. The easily most interesting bits were all of Viren's hallucinations. His VA did an outstanding job portraying the grief and regret he possessed for his past wrongdoings. Viren went from a maybe Bplus tier character to S tier, only behind Aaravos who's design still leaves me in awe, and Amaya who carries every scene she's in.
Purple pentapuss, is also a direct reference to an animal from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Which can be seen in season 2, episode 3 of that series. Despite having the same name, the physical appearance is different.
Except for some flaws, i liked this season. It was so much better than s4, which was an insult to me after waiting 3 effing years. It handled the humor better. It was very good they toned it down. Yet theres more potential here since the fighting scene in the library was terrible :') gladly Amaya didn't die in a dumb way.
This season was a lot darker than any of the other seasons. The kills were more gory no matter how little blood showed up, blood showed up quite a lot where is in the previous four seasons it showed very rarely. Where is this season it has been everywhere. Also their cruelty levels have been bumped up quite a bit and have been more visual.
I actually have a theory of how Callum has started to master the different arcanums and how it is playing into Aaravos's hands. So back in I believe season 1 he used Dark Magic to free the Dragon, right? Well notice how after he used it then he mastered the Sky Arcanum. Now for anyone who hasn't seen Season 5, spoilers ahead. So then when Callum learned the Ocean Arcanum he had to use Dark Magic to escape the chains he was in. My theory is that Aaravos is giving Callum the knowledge he so craves while also making him a pawn to Dark Magic. Given the fact that both times he used Dark Magic he then learned how to properly use a certain kind of Arcanum. I'd love to hear opinions and theories on this fun little theory here!!
I like the idea that either the series will go in a moral question direction and ask is dark magic that bad or another direction in which callum has to give up his power and knowledge to remain pure
I view Rayla cutting off Claudia’s left leg is other than defense and saving King Ezran as Darth Vader cutting off his son’s hand to release the falsehood about him. And Callum’s purging the potion from Claudia supports and also symbolizes him letting go the invisible chains he put on her in Season 1 episode 3 , but I am hoping that he will finally give her that love letter that is in his spell book, because that is one of the things that I am hoping to snap Claudia out her blind obedience to Aavarovs.

Season 5 was so dark I kinda liked it even tho thats super creepy. I mean all those deaths and suffering aside cant believe they've add Blood Magic which is brutal yet so satisfying to watch.
I Feel like 80% of the main characters' problems right now, is the consequences of good actions. Stealing the glow frog babies? Chased down and almost killed. Sparing the traitor prince? There will never be peace in the sun elves' camp. Like omg, just kill the guy. As far as we are concerned, the main characters are just lucky that Viren decided against Aravos.
What really annoys me is the glow toads episode. Like Ezran jeopardized the whole mission just for some baby glow toads, like i know he's that pure of heart kids but seriously? And remember when finnegrin said he wanted to sweeten the deal with the box which we now know contain the baby glow toads. Like how is that supposed to work? You're really going to trade a glow toad for 3 baby ones? 🤦
I think it was more like "give me the adult glowtoad and i will give u a baby glowtoad" And honestly, yes, that plot could've been executed better. Beside the glowtoads, they could've stolen a magical artefact, a spell, anything that would help later on, really.
I just hope they don’t do something boring in this case is where the heroes are continuing on with their latest adventure, and don’t plan on making a sequel. That just lame.

As far as Caludia's descent goes, I can't help considering the dynamic of 6 primal sources and 7 seasons, with the idea that everything Aravos put into motion was ultimately motivated by the desire to discover a 7seventh primal source that no living creature was born with a connection to, the source of Death magic.

True! I love her character now more than ever. She is definitely a morally grey character, but that is what makes her interesting. Her intentions are good, but she has been going down a dark path for a while now much like Viren (until he decided to give up dark magic). Her character can still either go either way. I’m thinking she might have a similar path to Azula in ATLA, but I’m really intrigued to see where her character will go next
The only way we are to snap Claudia out other than Terry and confessions, is Callum’s love letter that he still has in his Spellbook.
I love that Callum and Ezran aren’t holding back on Claudia anymore. They now understand she’s a threat and a danger. Callum removing her necklace and almost letting her drown her was savage! 😂No mercy! Lmao I love it.

i agree. even Ezran has given up on her. when she said she would destroy all of them if she had to, that's when we all knew she is too far gone. now that she has lost hope of getting arovoses prison, she may now set her sights on revenge, since technically the dragon prince group was responsible for her fathers death, twice now. i find that when a person loses everything, they have nothing to lose. that makes them more unpredictable, and incredibly dangerous to themselves and others around them. and a dark mage who lost her father, and has ni sense of right and wrong, enough to make me nervous. and i can think of some young kings, mages, elves, and dragons who should be getting nervous as well.

Honestly, glad they didn't kill off Amaya. Not because it couldn't have been good, but because if it had, it would have been really dumb given the situation. Amaya surrendered herself to her fate while Zubaya was RIGHT THERE within lightning breath and stomping range. All the characters acting like there's nothing they can do while sitting on the back of an Archdragon that's at least 3 stories tall was the most insulting BS. I saw the death flags. I was prepared for Amaya to die. But having Zubaya right there and not doing anything would have made for a really cheap and really stupid death. I'm glad they didn't kill her. Not because I love Amaya too much to want her to die, but because it would have been really disrespectful to her character and the audience to kill her off so terribly. If Zubaya was swipping at monsters relentlessly and barely beating them back, then the momment of Amaya's surrender to the inevitable would have been understandable. The idea that even Zubaya couldn't save her could have let that death scene play out honorably. But as written, it's a good thing Amaya and Corvus found shelter because letting them die that unceremoniously would have been really stupid and really insulting.
Literally that scene was so frustrating like 2 seconds earlier zubeia was killing those bears left and right but Amaya is in danger and suddenly she does nothing?? 💀

My best way to fix that moment is that Zubeia likely would have hurt/killed Amaya by trying to save her. Because she's so big, it's easy to hit Amaya along with the corrupted Banthers and she didn’t want to take that chance.

Claudia's main flaws are her inability to accept loss and to make difficult choices. When she was forced to choose between going with her mother or staying with her father, her mother made the choice for her by leaving her behind. The same thing happened in Season 3 when she was forced to choose between going with Soren or staying with her father. Not wanting to choose, Soren chose for her. Those 2 flaws are what make her the perfect puppet for Aaravos. Whether she redeems herself in the end or falls into the abyss for good, I have a feeling it will ultimately end tragically for her. By that time she will probably have used so much dark magic that it either corrodes her body and soul to dust or transforms her into some Lovecraftian horror that our protagonists will be forced to put down.

I have no clue what will happen to Teri's attachment for Claudia. I recall in season 4 that Teri was shocked when Claudia cruelly taunted Rayla using her coin-trapped relatives. In other instances Teri has shown restraint, expressing to Claudia that he believes she has a reason for her actions but the Rayla taunting was a crack in their connection. Season 5 shows that he is willing to support, and assist Rayla but as in season 4 there has to be some valid moral or ethical reason in order for him endorse her darkness. Viren points out at the end of season 5, he wants nothing to do with the dark path that brough him to this cross roads; the path he brought his daughter to. A clear theme throughout the show is attachment. Attachment drives every character, yet, the values of each group are defined by their ultimate goal.
GROUP-A wishes to save Zadia, and stop cruel, or overtly sinister actors, and GROUP-B, the "sinister actors", are in fact people or beings who value, and pursue power, control, and domination. Both Soren and Claudia have, since season 1 remained troubled and desperate for their fathers approval, this used to drive Soren, until he finally saw the reality (maybe). Claudia, however, remains desperate to prove herself. Soren may still in a moment of fear, and desperation betray the group for Claudia or his father. Likely Claudia. Claudia seems to be progressively getting more desperate. In a moment of fear, and desperation she may rationalize sacrificing Teri, however emotionally difficult that is for me to write, it is VERY, VERY likely. alternatively Teri may turn her around, and Claudia goes into exile. Calumn may turn bad, but that has not really been set up properly, so for now unlikely but his use of dark magic causes him to feel shame, guilt, fear, and this may cause him to use it again, as he did when on the crab-ship.
other possibilities abound. Teri may abandon Claudia, Teri may get killed by the resurrected Aaravos (as will some other loved characters), or Teri may sacrifice himself to save Claudia. Again attachment runs deep, fear runs high, and need becomes want, nay, must be or have. Everyone's attachment leads them to a specific outcome. The question for all the characters is who is NEXT. Someone will or a few characters will die in season 6, and season 7, the question remains who. Whose arc appears to be ending? Which beloved creature will fall into the category of disposable actor? Cannon fodder for the spiralling events of the next 2 seasons? I personally speculate that Teri will meet his demise, whether heroically, cowardly, or in horror. When Claudia feels abandoned, lost, afraid, and angry she will turn against him. In her fear and anger she will commit to the darkness, more so than Viren. Teri is her tie to the light, if Teri should interfere anymore, become a burden, as already mentioned, abandon or appear to abandon, or if Claudia feels abandoned she will turn more toward evil.

I love this tiny detail in the intro sequence, in season 4 episode 4 and in season 5 episode 8, Callum is the one who turns to stone instead of Viren. In both episodes something significant happens to Callum.

she Lost her mom.... lost... her brother almost three times through the Corse of her Adventure trying to find the two Family members of the Sworn family they were Suppose to protect... then Kill... (being a betrayer has Mental damages ) Then Finds out her father is truly a monster for a time.

I think the writing has been much worse since the timeskip, but this season is an overall improvement. I’m also confused by the ending of this season, because the good guys objectively just won and I don’t see a way forward for the villains. It was also frustrating to see a lot of conflict that could’ve been solved by not communicating (ex: dragon queen not telling anyone about getting corrupted or Soren somehow being the only one to see it)
Honestly season 4 felt like 3-4 episodes this season actually felt like a season
Here is the thing: Neither the Dragon Queen nor Soren knew that this was the type of wound that would fester and turn her, who would have told them about that and when? Rayla and Callum knew that from Jania, but the Queen never let them know she had been bitten (arguably they should have noticed but apparently they didn't). So the Queen just thought it to be a smaller issue than it turned out being, and so did Soren (or else he would have said something).
Is the fact that the two cast members who would know that the bite would cause problems did not notice the bite convenient writing? Yes. But at least the refusal of the Queen and Soren to share about it makes more sense this way.
This season felt better than S4 but still felt kinda mid imo. I didn't really care for Amaya or Janai's storylines like at all. If it didn't directly connect to what Ez, Rayla and Callum were doing it just felt kinda pointless. Soren was great though, loved all his scenes.

I still believe Claudia's life and soul are being destroyed every time she uses dark magic, and maybe losing a leg will allow her to reflect on that. However, I doubt she'll do any reflecting and will just double down on her plans.

This season was definitely much better than the last.Still not perfect but its a step in a right direction.Finnegrin was with no doubt the mvp of the season,he was just dope af as whole(his ship,his design).
And still the Sun elves arc is the most boring thing in the series(the only cool thing in there was the Blood Huntress or whatever her name was)

It’s Kim'dael and she was first introduced in the Bloodmoon Huntress graphic novel that takes place when Rayla was a kid. She actually reminds me very much of Hama from Avatar the last airbender.

They both were hunted down and eventually trapped by fire related factions Hama imprisoned by Fire Nation soilders and Kim’dael was bound by the Sunfire Elf queen. There is some difference to themselves but also similarities.

I really enjoyed the different perspectives on dark magic and essentially morality from characters like Callum, Viren and Claudia. Callum had to accept that there are some things you can't control and that in life, there are times when you need to do unpleasant things for the greater good or to protect your loved ones (which also helped him master the Water arcanum). . Claudia and Viren are particularly interesting since they've practically been inversed when compared to Season 1, with Viren completely renouncing dark magic and realizing what he's become and no longer lying to himself about acting only for the "greater good". Claudia on the other hand sees dark magic as a means to an end and will no longer back down from what she sees as necessary, no mattter the cost, while in earlier seasons she wasn't willing to sacrifice people, especially her friends or Soren and tried to reason with others, while feeling bad about having to kill creatures. Fast forward to season 5; she would have tortured, maybe even killed Ezran and Callum in order to free Aaravos, even though she grew up with them and they hadn't actually done anything to her by that point apart from stopping her from getting Zym.
I was so annoyed that Viren didn’t at least leave a message in the dirt like that’s what I would do. Chose to die but give her closure so she doesn’t continue the path!

We know that Aaravos can probably comunicate with Claudia (since he told her about the thirty day thing and all) so he could easily tell her how to bring her father back. If she knows, she'll sacrifice the homunculus for sure. The question is wether he'll tell her, and why.
Her own severed leg might work too. Aaravos never said a child had to die for the resurrection to become permanent. He said he needed their blood and Claudia's losing a lot of it.
When Rayla cuts off one of Claudia’s tentacles, when she turns to human form, she’s missing a leg

My Theory on The Dragon Prince Season 6: Stars
Team Zym will take Aaravos' Prison Pearl to Sunfire Queen Janai for protection. At the same time, Aaravos tells Claudia Viren is dead and use his death to solidify her vengeance against Team Zym and their allies. With Claudia firmly at his side, he will instruct her to meet Kim'dael, Aaravos' loyal assassin. Aaravos had her assassinate Luna Tenebris and later sent her to kill Aditi until her imprisonment via the neck collar Aditi tricked her into wearing. However, Aaravos escapes his prison with Claudia and Kim'dael's help leading to an eventual duel between Aaravos and Sol Regem. Aaravos wins and plans to head to the Starscraper to retrieve the Nova Blade and the Corona of the Heavens' crown: two artifacts he needs to invade and destroy the Startouch Elves. At the Sea of the Outcast, there were statues of a possible Startouch Elf Queen giving a depressed Aaravos her hand. Her relationship with Aaravos is unclear: sister? lover? friend? It is unclear, but we might see her in Season 6: Stars of the Dragon Prince. Regarding Sir Sparklepuff, I think Aaravos genuinely wants to save Viren as he looked very shocked when Viren refused to sacrifice Sir Sparklepuff for his life. This may indicate that Aaravos is grateful to anyone who helps him even though they are his chess pawns.

Another thing, I find it really interesting this season is called 'stars' instead of just Star. I think in the intro (where aaravos is the one speaking btw!!) He says 'Stars' specifically so maybe its nothing

For some reason, i just remembered the same green eye colour that callum and claudia both have. So i put two and two together, because 1, Callum has an interest in magic ( which probably has no relevance) and 2, we have no clue who his father is.

I have a feeling Aaravos will use Viren as a puppet like he did with Callum and aswell Claudia isn’t going to be very active unless she uses Dark Magic to grow a new leg but I’m more curious of the Soren backstory like what happened that made Virren supposedly use dark magic to revive Soren without the month handicap

I think Claudia is also in a way a metaphor for people who abuse and manipulate others constantly for their own gain but have a “im a victim” mentality. That last scene where she’s sobbing after losing a leg with terry gave me those vibes so much. From her POV look what they did to me when I’m just doing all of this for my dad, Terry who loves her gives us the enabler POV who eats it up cuz he loves her and who views her as this amazing person with the heart of gold when objectively sure you are trying to save your dad but your also gonna unleash the biggest evil possible in the process. They’re both blind to how that aspect makes everything their doing net negative however you paint it. I’m constantly nervous for Terry around her I think part of her arc will be to sacrifice him for ingredients and tbh idk if he’ll live through that one OR he’ll see her for what she’s actually doing past his rose colored glasses of his love for her and leaves her for his own good but she’ll see as the last straw that broke the camels back and will go full monster after that. We have to remember that in her POV callum and Ezran mistrusting her and “choosing” and elf (derogatory) over her and then Soren leaving her after she fixed him are betrayals not how these characters see it as taking the obviously good side of the conflict. For Claudia what’s “right” is whatever keeps her and her loved ones okay and in power “you’re ok now” she doesn’t believe there’s an objective way to see any of this. Poor Terry ugh like I hope it doesn’t come to that.
I really hope they delve deeper into the past of aravos and startouch elves altogether. I also think we'll see Callum learn all six primal sources and become powerful enough to rival aravos which would be an awesome thing to see.

I personally think if you were to break this down I would basically say that actions come with consequences.
I mean Claudia is constantly willing to do everything to save her father and is truly falling deeper and deeper Into Darkness and if Viren is dead at the start of the next season I truly believe that she would try and maybe make a deal with Aravos to bring him back to life again.
Of course the Dragon gang would try and stop her.
But I think the big lesson to take it away is the same I see in a lot of cases in real life : the more one tries to control something the more they will lose control. until that's what gives them power is taken away from them.

what I basically mean is she is constantly trying to control everything to make sure that things happen how they're supposed to happen in her mind. but I think viren put it best in season 4 they had 30 days to just live their lives to the fullest and enjoy what life brings. but instead she just wanted something that was lost.

I kind of like the dynamic the two of them have because it does feel like they have known each other for centuries and the advice he gives her ( which I will not reveal) is pretty good at advice and applies to a lot more things than just her.
Also I have a feeling that we will see more of the mushroom mage in the next volume.

It's funny how he didn't mention that Claudia straight up loses her leg because one of the tentacles was cut off.
Season 4: Soren pleading with Claudia, imploring her to see the evils of dark magic and Aaravos' cause...Claudia emotionally shuts down after a while and says nothing to her brother.
Season 5: Claudia pleading with Ezran and Callum, imploring them to see the "righteousness" of her cause and the good of dark magic. Ezran and Callum emotionally shuts down and says nothing to their former friend. The two couldn't speak underwater but it's clear they do not want to engage Claudia in a conversation.
I like the parallels here.
Ezran and Callum looked like they were willing to talk, it was only after Claudia attacked them things turned messy.
I wish they had a chance to have a proper conversation. Last time Claudia and Callum talked was at the Moon Nexus...
While Claudia is intelligent she severely lacks wisdom especially in matters concerning her father. In the first arc the morality of his actions go completely over her head and she shows to completely be unable to understand why people would get in her fathers way to protect humans from the potential threat of Xaidia not considering the fact that he incited some of these threats through killing the Dragon King and taking his egg. On top of the fact that if it wasn't for Ezra's mercy in book 3 she would have been exacted for treason. At this point the only way I can see Claudia finally seeing the error of her ways is either after everything she went through to free Aravos he betrays her or her father stands in her way. I have a feeling that when she finally understands the gravity of her actions it will be a very heartbreaking moment.
One thing we need to look at is the use of Dark Magic by Callum and Claudia, both have used dark Magic in order to protect a loved one, Claudia of course to save her father but also Callum used dark magic to free himself in order to save Rayla. In the final Callum judge Claudia as evil for using dark magic while he has done the same a few hours earlier, quite a bit of hypocrisy if you ask me.
Claudia and Callum are both very similar characters.
He used dark magic to save Rayla both times. While Claudia is using it to save her dad, she is trying to unleash the greatest evil in the world and refuses to see that aspect of it.

I was honestly really worried after the less than stellar return of Dragon Prince last season, but they managed to recover and make a season that brought back a lot more tension and the respect for viewers to connect the dots themselves a bit more. Last season just had me and my watchmates think “right, this is a children’s show” way more than we were comfortable with, and this season toned that down to a respectable level.
Finnegrins Wake was an amazing penultimate episode, and felt like there actually some tension in the scenes. There are still some nitpicks, like the events in the opening never really have any explanation (probably another web novel I haven’t read), the world once again feels tiny when a distance that took two seasons to cross is crossed in half an episode, and Zubeia’s illness being healed by mushroom elves should’ve really been left off on a cliffhanger, because now we just know she’s probably gonna be alright and won’t need to be thinking about that for the next year or so. Beyond that, I really enjoyed this season, once again I’m just glad the show didn’t continue all the concerning trends season 4 was starting.
YES Finnegrin's Wake was honestly such a good pay off for what the rest of the season was building up to, I preferred it to the final episode!

As someone part of the Deaf community, I love Amaya, but why this season is no one else signing to her?! Yes, Gren can interpret, but the myth needs to die that deaf people can rely on reading lips! Even with context, hearing and non-hearing people trained to read lips can only understand about 30% of what is said! So why are all the characters not consciously including her into conversations?! Like, LOOKING at her! And signing for themselves to speak with her?! I want to scream at Callum, “YOU KNOW ASL! WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING WITH YOUR AUNT?! INCLUDE HER!” “JANAI! YOU ARE HER LOVE! SIGN WHEN YOU SPEAK TO HER SO SHE CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!”
TDLR: please oh please, make the characters that love Amaya like family treat her like family. Be inclusive of her. She doesn’t have to accommodate to a hearing world. The world, her own family and friends must accommodate to her. As my Deaf grandma would say, “A Deaf person can do anything, but hear.” It’s just a bit obvious that the writers are hearing and haven’t spent enough time thinking for how a Deaf character lives in the world.

You know considering that a tree elf is dating a dark mage gives us a glimpse of politics in elves society. We already know that the sky, moon, and sun elves are against dark magic, but what about the other elves what are their views on dark magic?
How does the star, ocean, and tree elves view dark magic?
Did they all agree on the humans banishment?
And is Aavaros really all that bad? I mean I know he is set up to be the villain, but I see him more of a trickster.
I think the majority and leaders are against it and decided on the banishment, but there are those who either don’t care like at scumport, or don’t see it as specifically bad, like terry the writers say he understand why some use it as long as you do it for what’s needed and don’t go too far

Claudia is definitely a tragic villain that won’t turn back. She will constantly use dark magic to over compensate for her own mistakes, and this will corrupt her in the long run just like her father.

I think Claudia’s heart is in the right place as she’s trying to save her father and the ones she loves, but her mind is in the wrong place thinking she has to resort to dark magic to do so.

If anything the story is setting Claudia up to be the major villain. Avaaros has stated multiple times that Claudia is far more powerful than her father. It would not surprise me Claudia's father sacrificed himself in order to save her. It would push her to the point of becoming a true dark mage. She's the perfect example of a tragic villain

I don’t think Soren actually died as a boy. I think Viren’s dream of Soren perishing was a reflection of Viren using Dark Magic to cure his son from his Illness.
During the finale of Aaravos, I want to see Aaravos at his lowest point, to see him break down in rage and madness and slowly accept his defeat. He has always acted superior so It would be very interesting to see him realize he might not escape or he might actually DIE and have his immortality stripped away. Also, I really hope they go the novablade route to kill him. (Idk If this sounds right but you get what I'm saying? I hope we get to see him get some time to shine because its seems like he is getting released next season.
Also, the part where he said that sir sparklepuff or whatever was he and Virens child was kinda weird and I'm actually somewhat surprised that Viren decided not to kill the thing. It also seemed Aaravos was shocked that he didn't do so and was kinda annoyed that he did all that just to die. Aaravos definitely has some sort of connection with Viren (and maybe even felt a little betrayed?).. Viren's visions while he was unconscious was also really interesting to dive into more of his character and morality.

I hate how callum used dark magic for the second time. It only furthers his addiction and dirtiest his soul. But I did notice that everytime he uses dark magic he gains a new Arcanum.

Dark magic doesn’t really need to be of a dead creature, since they were shown using a horn of a dragon that was very much alive and healthy. If anything Dark magic is absorbing magic from another creature with magic and releasing it back out in a new form.

Claudia had it worst than anybody in the show. She’s constantly seeking for her fathers approval by putting herself and her friends in danger. Without resting or taking care of herself. Even though her father will never give her the satisfaction
I saw an article after watching this season, and one word they used which had been on the tip of my tongue to describe this season was spot on. Meandering. So much nonsense, padding, filler and more in what is supposed to be a season of actual buildup and suspense. So many useless side quests that led to nothing, pointless scenes and I'm beginning to see flanderisation occur to literally every charcter. Ezran especially got on my nerves, and Soren just did nothing at all, in fact, no one did anything. The easily most interesting bits were all of Viren's hallucinations. His VA did an outstanding job portraying the grief and regret he possessed for his past wrongdoings. Viren went from a maybe Bplus tier character to S tier, only behind Aaravos who's design still leaves me in awe, and Amaya who carries every scene she's in.

Purple pentapuss, is also a direct reference to an animal from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Which can be seen in season 2, episode 3 of that series. Despite having the same name, the physical appearance is different.

Except for some flaws, i liked this season. It was so much better than s4, which was an insult to me after waiting 3 effing years. It handled the humor better. It was very good they toned it down. Yet theres more potential here since the fighting scene in the library was terrible :') gladly Amaya didn't die in a dumb way.

This season was a lot darker than any of the other seasons. The kills were more gory no matter how little blood showed up, blood showed up quite a lot where is in the previous four seasons it showed very rarely. Where is this season it has been everywhere.
Also their cruelty levels have been bumped up quite a bit and have been more visual.
I know in the first season of verine did torture a few elves and do dark things. But that was season 1. Quite a long time ago.
Maybe Claudia will use dark magic to repair her leg?

I actually have a theory of how Callum has started to master the different arcanums and how it is playing into Aaravos's hands. So back in I believe season 1 he used Dark Magic to free the Dragon, right? Well notice how after he used it then he mastered the Sky Arcanum. Now for anyone who hasn't seen Season 5, spoilers ahead. So then when Callum learned the Ocean Arcanum he had to use Dark Magic to escape the chains he was in. My theory is that Aaravos is giving Callum the knowledge he so craves while also making him a pawn to Dark Magic. Given the fact that both times he used Dark Magic he then learned how to properly use a certain kind of Arcanum.
I'd love to hear opinions and theories on this fun little theory here!!
I like the idea that either the series will go in a moral question direction and ask is dark magic that bad or another direction in which callum has to give up his power and knowledge to remain pure

I view Rayla cutting off Claudia’s left leg is other than defense and saving King Ezran as Darth Vader cutting off his son’s hand to release the falsehood about him.
And Callum’s purging the potion from Claudia supports and also symbolizes him letting go the invisible chains he put on her in Season 1 episode 3 , but I am hoping that he will finally give her that love letter that is in his spell book, because that is one of the things that I am hoping to snap Claudia out her blind obedience to Aavarovs.

I Feel like 80% of the main characters' problems right now, is the consequences of good actions. Stealing the glow frog babies? Chased down and almost killed. Sparing the traitor prince? There will never be peace in the sun elves' camp. Like omg, just kill the guy.
As far as we are concerned, the main characters are just lucky that Viren decided against Aravos.

What really annoys me is the glow toads episode. Like Ezran jeopardized the whole mission just for some baby glow toads, like i know he's that pure of heart kids but seriously?
