Nuestro Río Santa Catarina siempre ha sido un Río Seco, el agua que corre normalmente por su canal de estiaje es del drenaje pluvial de la ciudad y su área metropolitana. Solo se ha llenado cuando hay huracanes. Yo en 69 años, solo lo he visto así 3 o 4 veces. Era seco y lleno de piedras, después se llenó de canchas deportivas, ciclopista, alberca, gradas, etc se llevó todo un huracán, volvieron a hacer canchas y taludes de concreto, ya no existía nada de instalaciones. Entonces, la ciudadanía ya no permitió que se instalara nada, y se llenó de vegetación y fauna y ahora con esta tormenta tropical se va la mayor parte de la vegetación y volverá a surgir nuestro Río lleno de vegetación y fauna pero casi seco, sin agua, como es nuestra ciudad y nuestro estado.

Que no conocen santa los reporteros?, es un río de paso se llena relativamente rápido como de misma forma se seca rápido, el 80% de las veces lo verán sin agua, hubo tiempo que hubo viviendas ahí, después el "mercado" del puente del papá, no es viable poner nada que dure ahí en algún momento el río se llenará lo suficiente y se llevara lo que tenga...
Me imagino a la madre naturaleza diciendo a los humanos que se quejan de la sequía: Naturaleza: "cuántos metros cúbicos de agua ocupas para llenar tus presas? Humano: "unos litrillos, ahi lo que lo que puedas" naturaleza: "ahi te van 100 millones de metros cúbicos pa que no estes chingando, cuidala cabron"
