Such a beautiful family and so faithful. I still remember my grandmother cry as she told me the story of the revolution. She broke down and said they killed all of them and those beautiful children. I only saw my grandma cry a few times so this memory always stayed in my heart.
Im from New Zealand i can't to read the book the short videos I've seen show a beautiful family who suffered a tragic end that didn't need to be.
Especially for a royal/imperial family, the Romanovs were special. They had genuine relationship with each other, and Nicholas and Alexandra were actually in love unlike most royal couples at that time.

Both Alexei and Nicholas have very even, symmetrical features. It's why they were both exceptionally photogenic. Alexei would've been gorgeous as an adult.
They are a very attractive family. Have you seen photos of George V of UK? They look so much alike, there's even pics of them switching uniforms. At this point in Europe, almost all the monarchs are closely related to one & other and some look a lot alike.
Their family life is one of the many things that make the Romanovs so likeable. I wish all the families in the world were more like them. It'd have helped make the world a much better place

I love the Romanovs. They were unlike any other royal/imperial family. I've read their diaries. The color tinted photos are so beautiful. My great great grand parents had to flee in 1916 or 1917 so I've heard stories passed down about, having actually seen them out in public.

This is definitely one of the saddest stories in world history. I have always been drawn to these events since I was a young adult over 40 years ago. Their children. I will never be able to wrap my head around the inhumanity of what happened to their children.
I love this royal family, their love for one another and their deep faith in God. Such an example to us all. May they rest in peace.

Oh how I love every production and story of this imperial royal family, their story brings great sadness, I often think how different the royal houses of Europe would be if they had never met their vile, cruel end .🇮🇪🥺
The Tsar & the Royal Family.....He was a Good man & a loving family with genuine feelings for one another unlike the current ones in Europe. It's just a cruel Twist of Fate that put them in the mess which ended in the horrific murder. Simply awful business....breaks my heart. Russia/the Soviet Union has never redeemed itself from these horrible crimes. You would not want to have been a German in WWII when they advanced into the country. Russia has always been cursed and today it's leader poison's adversaries all over Europe. Maybe they are good people but the leadership has always been despicable. There will never be a democracy in Russia. Why do we cooperate with them in space?
of course i hate the way they died.A crime, a horrible crime an i wish i had had the chance to save all of them.Its really sad and terrible.Something really hard to assimilate.Im not in favor of any monarchy.Royals trough histry have proved to serve only their self interests.We have to see the other side of the story.Imagine yourself, been a mother and loosing all of your children or at least some of them to starvation, while you see them having exotic and luxurious parties and throwing food away.People were very, very unhappy.Nikolas was a horrible king and had no intention to rule.He devastated the country with wars with no sence.Also dont forget bloody sunday.People were protesting pacifically, asking for bread and died in a bloody masaccre from the palace.That day mothers lost their sons, wifes lost their husbands, kids lost their parents cause they ordered to kill them from the palace.That changed everthing.When French poeple took the streets and started the revolution, they also killed king Luis and his exotic wife Antoinette.I also desaprove that.In the case of the russian royal family, they should have sent them to exile and thats it.After all, the Tzar had allready renouced his rights to crown, he had abdicated.Of course there was no need to kille them . It is an utter tragedy what happened to the family. They were a loving caring family who cared for each other and their subjects. They made faberge famous & they were related to British monarchy so are mourned by multiple countries. As soon as I heard bout this book I wanted to own it so it is on my list of books to buy.

A true love story. Appalling that Britain’s King George V turned his back on his cousin (with whom he grew up and was very close), Czar Nicholas. Their deaths could have been avoided if King George V had granted them asylum and allowed the Romanov family to live quietly in exile on one of Britains islands.

When George V denied them asylum, not even the Imperial Family feared for their lives at that time. It was thought they'd simply find another country to see the war out from. And, from the early days, why didn't Nicholas and Alexandra send their children overseas to safety - the girls anyway - thousands of other people did that. Why aren't THEY to blame for the deaths of their kids?

@@zzzbbbooo I don't think they had a clue their lives were in danger up until it was too late. They seemed to be naive and almost sheltered from the real world and what could happen. Nicholas the 2nd was not even groomed to take over after his father and was thrown into it relatively young after his fathers passing. He was passive in nature and didn't have a grasp on how to fill the role of Czar from what I have read. A lot of his concentration was on his son who had hymophilia, keeping him alive and keeping the disease away from public knowledge. It would not have been easy to let this child go into hands of strangers with a life threatening illness. But overall, they were a very close family and I am sure their thoughts were on staying together not realizing the danger.
@@zzzbbbooo they were planing of fleeing. But al the girls except from Maria got deadly sick and they lost their one chance of fleeing. They all got better, but then Marie got sick and when the sickness left her, they got taken as prisoners and their chance of escaping their faith was gone. A lot suggested that when their were in the house of special purpose they made plans on how to escape but they were to late.
It's so sad that I have no words. They didn't deserve these destiny. Nobody deserves it.

There are no words to say how terrible what they went through. Cannot ever imagine watching your own family being slaughtered in front of you. i hope they are all together in heaven and that the "demons" are in hell.

Leon Trotsky did not put forward a precise figure but claimed that hundreds were killed and that many of the dead were secretly buried by the authorities.
Facts are the Tsar was not at the Winter Palace and could not have issued any order for the troops to fire at the people on the march led oddly enough by an Orthodox priest and police informant who was later murdered by members of the Socialist Revolutionary Party.
Nicholas later II described the day as being "painful and sad" and decried the deaths that had occurred. Unfortunately little of this information is ever detailed in the later Bolsheveik propaganda of what actually happened on that day ...

He cared about his family but he never cared about his people. He was a horrible ruler and he caused the death of many people. People like to forget this fact when they see his pretty daughters and his sick son.
The tsar Nicolas II had never been prepared to be a ruler, none of his fault. He became the ruler right at the death of his father. A ruler never rules by himself so to say that Nicolas was an horrible ruler is not right. When the protesters were shot by the hundreds the tsar did not order the shooting as he was not in the palace. His army was not prepared to face a huge mass of protesters.
One wishes that Nicholas II had been a wiser man - if had he made serious concessions to parliemantary democracy and had not allowed Russia to become involved in disastrous wars, then he , and his family, might have avoided their terrible fate at the hands of the Bolsheviks.

I'm struck by looking at photos of Alexandra when she was younger. She really was a beautiful young woman and almost to the very end, and after five children, she still kept her tall beautiful figure. Alexei's illness finally caught up with her. And all the stress of just living in that environment took their toll later on. But Nicholas and Alexandra had a beautiful family together. All those children were born because their parents loved each other. That's very rare with toyalty back then.
I look at most families today and wonder where this togetherness has gone. You see children cursing and bring disrespectful towards their elders & its Disgusting! We need to bring family values back to the world. G*d save the Tsar

I just have to say that my grandmother who was born in Siberia, looked very much like Empress Aleksandra.
Which is interesting, as Empress Alexandra was German, and a granddaughter of Queen Victoria.
I like the fact that George V was Nicholas's cousin, while George's cousin was Kaiser Wilhelm II, who's cousin was Alexandra Feodorovna.
