Brightline Construction: Northwood Signal and Track Cutover - December 5, 2021

- In this Brightline construction update, I spent a day in the Northwood neighborhood of West Palm Beach where the last major work south of Jupiter was taking place. Crews were activating the new signals for the section between Riviera Beach and the West Palm Beach station and doing some track work to add and remove some crossovers. This work is being done as part of Brightline's phase 2 expansion of passenger rail service to Orlando.

This is probably the best train video I’ve ever seen. No kidding, the perfect video. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Brightline should hire The Roaming Railfan.
Thank you for this video. I live over in Tarpon Springs and have been very interesting in it since it’s beginning. When they first started, I drove over and rode it down to Miami and back, first class. What a beautiful train, Florida is lucky.
That was once again or as always a wonderful status report. Terrific. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven
Thank You. Very nice.
Excellent presentation of many of the relatively unknown and/or under appreciated projects and procedures that go into making a higher speed efficient railroad operation possible.
No apology is necessary Roaming Railfan. Your videos are excellent. Maybe the best on UA-cam.
Cool i think the best part of railroad construction is the track laying, bridge building and signals
I look forward to every one of your updates. Thank you for all of the work you do in preparing these videos. I really appreciate it.
I LOVE these updates ... Thank you for your efforts
Excellent! A major section nearly complete
8 car trains could be possible for future services such as Orlando, Disney and Tampa
glad to see a full-length Brightline train in the Polar Express.
edit: a question for any Brightline HR/executives/people who make decisions, what prompted the decision to partner with a 3rd party to document construction?
ASAIK, this hasn't been done before, and just letting Roaming Railfan onto your property, let alone bringing him on company trips like the one to the Siemens plant, sets Brightline apart from other companies as one that actually cares about the communities it impacts, and not as just another faceless corporation who only looks at public opinion as a marketing tool.
that turned into a bit of a ramble, but I really would like to hear from Brightline.
They didn't ask me to start making these videos, I just started doing them on my own and they happened to find them. All, including this one, are filmed from public property unless I ask to get escorted to other locations if they can accommodate and I acknowledge that if it happens. Whether they liked these or not I would still be making them out of my own personal interest so they have just taken advantage of the audience I have grown.
@@RoamingRailfan Ah, okay. Still, it's a good sign that they let you on the property when you asked, instead of ignoring you as I would expect from other corporations. Hell, if CSX was involved at all in this, you probably would've gotten a Cease and Desist order after 5 videos.
This might be just me but i think i see a brightline train in the distance heading to west palm beach at 2:38
Awesome!!! Wish I could model Brightlines CTC signal system in HO scale using JMRI and RR-Cirkits LCC platforms.
Good video.
I love you man
Incredibly well done documented all of the changes. Do you have a current schedule for the FEC trains there in West Palm Beach? Also will they have to make changes when they run trains due to the passenger trains running?
I don’t have a current schedule for West Palm Beach. They s houldn't have to adjust the schedule once Brightline heads to Orlando, changes werent necessary when they startd current service to Miami from West Palm Beach.
@@RoamingRailfan Good to know. Look forward to seeing your next update on here.
Amazing video.question? When will the TRI-RAIL Downtown Coastal-link begin?
Still tbd
Is Brightline using a Positive Train Control (PTC) or relay based Signal System?
PTC
How long is that train?
It was probably 8-10 thousand feet long. I only showed about 1/4 of it.
