I really enjoy watching your podcasts!! I love watching you spin and all the techniques you use. I have been spinning for 20 years. I still can’t get that long draw down!! Love, love, love Mary Chaplin Carpenter!!

Another Mary Chapin fan! Such a beautiful voice and her lyrics really speak to me. I learned longdraw kinda by accident when I was teaching myself to spin. My short forward draw is still a work in progress. We tend to go back to our default method...darn muscle memory! Thank you for your comment and for watching 💕.

Lisa, it's so good to see you! I've thought many times over these weeks of what you said about your Mom, that she didn't suffer fools lightly and what would she think of the state of things today! I, too, love Mary Chapin Carpenter!!! Thank you for checking in, and thank you for being a teacher. I'm helping my grandsons with remote learning and I'll tell you, our teachers are simply incredible x o

Hi dear Cary. It was my mom’s birthday yesterday. She would have been 94. It’s funny but I feel more like her all the time. 😊. I have an idea of what she’d be saying about now. Your gandsons are lucky to have such a great grandma. I pray for better times ahead. 🤗

I am so thankful for your wonderful guidance and presence. I bought my first drop spindle yesterday and found a mentor who will teach me soon. In the meantime I love learning the basics from you and some books I found. I must say you got me really interested in learning more so thanks again!

I've missed your videos Lisa. Your Jacob sweater is turning out great! I love to see the progress on each fleece and the unboxing of the new ones! Thank you for so many wonderful videos. You have brought me comfort and much needed distractions during the pandemic. I appreciate that you mentioned you plan to continue to produce podcasts while you are back to work full time. I live in Eastern Oregon and we had blue skys again yesterday because a storm blew through. We are experiencing more smoke. Luckily we are not in the part of Oregon that has been devastated by the fires. I am outside dying some yarn blue, hoping the color is close to the last 4 skeins I dyed a few weeks ago.

Hi Lisa, I'm still binging on your channel. It's always so soothing & so inspiring, I just thought as you said it that those marigolds would be nice to dye with.
No I'm not thinking of taking that up, at least not for a while.
The lake looks a dream as the sun was coming up.
You take care. I'll catch another one of your video / podcast.
Love to you and your family.

I was a bit worried and am so glad see you and made a new podcast. Good to see you Lisa in good health. In the last few months I got, thanks to you, quite an interest in supported spinning. I bought several very beautiful spindles. Now I must start trying but I have a little bit cold feet, I suppose afraid of failure. But in the end I will. Your spinning is as usual so excellent! Thank you for your podcast.

Just found you a couple days ago, such a joy! I've been doing lot of natural dyeing as a sanity-preserving pandemic project. I froze marigolds several years ago and re-found them and got LOTS of color from one ziplock bag full. I was happily surprised to get a beautiful mossy green when I dyed over gray yarn. So have fun with those marigolds:)

So glad to see you again! Thank you for the spinning and spindle tips. I'm working on some Churro/Dorset homespun for some felted slippers that Jana at Purl Together just did videos about. I think it's overspun so I'm going to untwist it a bit before I process it. I'm going to use the singles because I'm still so irregular in my spinning that it should work out to be about a #5 yarn which will work great.
I'm so glad you mentioned the Gamache series. I deliver papers overnight and I've listened to the whole series. It's wonderful! Three Pines sounds like home!

I am happy you posted a vlog. Like others, I have missed your presence. Besides having a soothing influence you have "enabled" me to begin an exploration of spindling. I am now almost never without a spindle project on me. My youngest granddaughter dances around as I spin, spinning like the spindle on chubby toddler legs. What delight!
I'm hoping life treats you well and that you continue to occasionally post. Cheers!

It's wonderful to see you!! I have thought of you over the last couple months. I am in Oregon where the fires have been horrible until the last couple days. My brother is in California so I know what you mean when you talked about your sister. It is always a joy and inspiration to watch your podcast. While you were talking today I was sewing in the ends on a sweater I knit with my most unusual hands-on yarn to date -- one ply is Angora and the other ply is alpaca. I dyed this yarn with marigolds from my garden in August and it's so exciting to see how it is all working out. Keep on spinning and knitting. Thank you for sharing with all of us! Take care and see you next time. Tail wags to your pup!

Hi Lisa. The tips on ergonomics while spindle spinning are very helpful. I am reading the book about knitting ergonomics at the moment and it's also very helpful with some strain injuries. It was very relaxing to watch you talk about the beautiful fleeces and spins. I am enjoying some hand flicking merino and swifter while watching. Thank you for taking the time to make the videos. ☺

    • @aiota628

    • @Hippespinster
      @Hippespinster 4 роки тому

@@aiota628 for me it is very helpful. But to be fair, I also have had a lot of therapy and also from ergonomics therapists. I dont know if the book would be as helpful without prior knowlegde. But I do have a quite difficult and serious chronic condition. The book is definitely not a replacement for professional health care. But for healthy people with some strain issues it would probably be.

All the beauty in this episode: thank you so much. I love to see Peaches: how is she? You've been watching Keeping Faith: I've seen all the series now and actually miss her! You had a clip of the music: have you found the whole album on Spotify? I adore Amy Wadge's music. So full emotion. Did you now that Keeping Faith was filmed in both the welsh and english languages? I don't understand welsh but I'd like to watch an episode to see how it sounds. Take care, Nicky. I hope that you see the comments that arrive months or years after you record an episode.

As always your spinning is so inspiring. I'm so glad that your Enid Ashcroft spindle wasn't lost but just was having some extra adventure on the way to you. I have a question if you have the time to answer, no worries if not though I know you are super busy. When you are spinning a project on multiple spindles do you make sure that each of the spindles is the same weight? Hope that makes sense?

    • @SoulfulSpinning
