I've tried suggestions on parts from the "other guy" and seemed to run into problems always. I think your honesty really goes a long way in this industry and what you guys teach and parts you suggest has always been dead on. You put things to the test, describe the actual details, and are honest on how good a product is. Your videos are very professional, when it comes to the product reviews, you guys don't just show the good parts, you show the ugly too. If you tell me I need to buy it, I will.
@Samqdf Thanks for your comment Samqdf! glad to hear you have the meter and it is working fantastic for you. I love having the meter, I now use it for testing all my planes, especially the scratch builds. Thanks!
Thank you for your live demonstration of load testing with this unit. I am looking to buy something like this to use in a ebike project that i am currently doing.
@rcFFBloodyMicks Thanks for the cool comment. Yes these Turnigy meters are great, 130A's is nice to have. Should cover most power systems i will ever have. Paul
I just now found out how to connect the auxiliary battery. There is some not so easy to find marking at the back panel near the battery terminals ( + and - and U). That was what I was looking for and could not find anywhere on the web before.
I just bought this meter and package instructions are not clear .............what exactly is the 3 pin slot on the " source " side of the meter is used for....thanks
can you set voltage and/or current limits with the Turnigy? I wonder if it is possible to save that data to a computer for further analysis, archiving battery motor configuration/temperature performance It would be interesting if there was an app for an android phone that would allow monitoring and/or collecting the voltage/amperage data.
@nlimnj I'm using one for my e-Bike 44.4v Lipo. Im not sure it can handle the constant 30+ amp draws though. Mine started to flicker after a week of use...
I'm seeing in quite a few UA-cam videos that this watt meter is not very accurate when compared to the other cheap China made watt meters available on ebay. Is this true? Would you do a test with your brand watt meter and compare its accuracy to lab equipment that produce precise Amps and volts.. It would help clarify the contention of others for me. Thank you
how to connect the auxiliary battery? There is a three pin connector on the instrument. Which standard of plug is to be used and which 2 pins for + and -?
Go to the Hobbyking website and use their search facility for watt meter. All the watt meters will come up. The Turnigy 180A Watt Meter and Power Analyzer seems to be an upgraded version of the one shown in the utube here.
I didn't get that much out of your video. You speak too quickly, and don't stay on topic long enough. I watched 2:57 minutes, and switched off. Now looking for someone else to explain a Watt meter, what it does, and what it can do. Speak slower, and don't rush, your presentation will be better understood, and I'm sure your likes will greatly increase. You obviously know what you are talking about, it's your delivery that needs work. Please do, try again.

Thank you vmat377. Good news to hear of your FF22 too. Thanks for watching!

You are welcome!
@BRANDORC
The Prop was a 7x8. works nice on the
plane. The Watt meter helped in choosing it.

This is a great spot to get info on hobby king products.Great job Paul ^5
First class video. HobbyKing seems to have the best price on the Turnigy as well.
Thanks.

Very good job Paul. I built one of your FF22. Flies awesome!
@BRANDORC
Thanks brando! This tool works
great and really is a must have for scratch builders
nice and direct review. I am using one of these myself, it works fantastic and it's dirt cheap
Great review!! I could use it as a video operators manual. Fantastic, simply fantastic!
Thanks,
Tim
Great job there Paul (rcfoamfighters) and i've just subscribe so i don't miss out on any other great reviews and products from HK ;-) 5*
Nice work, Paul!!!
Very nice Paul. I need to get one of these, mine only goes up to 75A max.
Jon
Thank you!
You're welcome!
@grenadapult
Thanks Tim. This is a cool must have
tool for all of us crazy scratch builds.
no more guessing on a power
systems performance.
I bought it!
I want this motor.
Does the voltage drop which it shows is equal to motor terminal voltage? Or is it just battery voltage drop?
Nice Job Paul :-)
I just bought this meter and package instructions are not clear .............what exactly is the 3 pin slot on the " source " side of the meter is used for....thanks
@DJPettyv4
Thanks!
@insAneTunA
Thanks InsAneTunA!
Thanks for sharing this meter! Can this also test 18650 batteries?
@HobbykingLive Did you have to solder the connections at each end? On your site there is a review that says so.
how does it work as a servo tester? Found the review very useful
Nice video, very informative. Keep up the good work.
@DENCHIYA2
The motor is a Turnigy 3648-1450. I put a
link in the video details bar. Please look there.
what measuring instrument do you think is best for Wh?
@SomeUselessGeek
Thanks S.U.G.!
BTW Paul, what size prop was that you running?
@flyby8906
Thanks flyby8906!
Does this device work as a "fuel gauge" measuring amps drawn from my batteries? I have an electric bicycle, 48v SLA. Thanks.

Can you save data to a computer?
@mpetty0226
Thanks Mike!

Great review Paul :-)) 5*
Can't I just use my multimeter in series to measure the current and multiply that by the voltage to get the power usage?
racerx1326 Yes, if your DMM can handle the amperage. Most DMMs can only handle 10A.
Thank you
I like to see that too and see if you can calibrate it yourself and get it at least as accurate as the millimeter used.
how to connect the auxiliary battery? There is a three pin connector on the instrument. Which standard of plug is to be used and which 2 pins for + and -?
is this for battery or data logging?
oh nevermind
link to the meter no longer works and can't find it on hobbyking. I guess they don't carry that particular model now

can you attach the battery to either side
How would you charge your battery with it
does this not have a battery balance system? the cheap hk 010 does and half the price of this!
I want to use this in my laptop.
can this power meter be on 24/7?
@TheLipRipp3r
Thanks for watching and the comment!
Bob the builder should have used one of those , lol .
Where can I buy it?
@chris23ll
Thanks chris23ll
180A????
You can get a USB meter for way cheaper and do a shit load more things.
@startazz
Thanks startazz for your support and subscribing
