No. As long as the box isn’t RIPPED open it’s fine, most pops sold expensive have been opened. The dent that may happen MIGHT effect the value if it does it’s by like a dollar but that only depends on who is buying it
I also keep mine out of the box, there are many small details Funko had the trouble to give to these pops and I think its a waste to not take them out and being unable to see them (ginny weasley with diary for example, you cant see that the diary does have Tom Marvolo Riddle written on the cover if the pop is inside of the box)

Hello! I just got my first funko, and it's worth $50, it's plenty of money for us asians. Just wondering if I take my funko out of the box, will my funko kinda lose it's color? Sorry if the question is weird, I'm very new in funko pop collecting world 😅
I take all of my pops out of the box when i first get them, i refold all the creases and make sure they're sharp, then i put the pop back in and i use acid free clear tape to seal the top and botten, then it goes into a protector.
I had taken some of mine out of box but then when I got more from the same drop set I had to put them back in because the display would’ve looked odd the way I had it set up so I put them back in.
what's the point of buying them but not being able to fully enjoy it, i buy them cuz i love them, not selling them in the future haha, i need to see the chase glow, not in box with a chase sticker :D

Damaged boxes or you don't have a box. Yes it loses value. Also putting them a protective cover is good as well

Yeah if you damage or lose the box it's gonna go down in value but some pops can still have a good out of box value like an original simpsons pop

I wouldn’t buy a pop with a box that shows it was clearly opened or damaged.

They aren't even sold with tape over the flaps too, so none of them are really fully sealed

I don’t open them just because then you have the risk of not just damaging the box, but the figure too.
It's when you open it and damage the box in the process that hurts the value.
Does creasing or like denting the flaps when trying to open the funko pop cause the value to decrease?
I really hate how hard it is to not dent the box when opening it. Most my boxes are slightly dented already from opening them.
I use a knife stick it under the lid slide the blunt side of the knife towards the opening and pop the edges out. No binding.

Yes it does lose value can cause creases bends. Especially if you want to send it in to get graded
