Personally I never wanted boeser or garland traded. Garland is arguably top 3 on our team in just pure heart, determination and driving force for a line. You look at the combo of him and Joshua and you see that those two are dynamic together. Garland gets a lot of hate for his size and contract but imo is worth EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR of his contract. He’s one of those glue guys that you need in the playoffs. He can handle his own in scrums, can drive a line, can produce offence, is decent in defensive zone instances. Petey is a problem lately in all zones of the ice. Can’t hit the net or make the plays in the offense. Turns it over constantly in defense and neutral zone. And doesn’t know how to stay on his feet. Petey is a great player but if this is how he’s gonna play for the next 8 years the contract is going to age horribly.

Not saying that they can’t win, even with Demko out, but I question their ability to recover from mistakes, which is why I picked the preds to win. How many times did we hear that the Sedins should be shipped out because of their playoffs performances? Many many times. And they became playoffs warriors. Two of the most bankable playoff stars for a good clip of years. Peterson is still young. And he hasn’t had a lot of chances to develop his playoff style. So yes this adversity is good. And even if he doesn’t pull through this year, all that means is he didn’t play well this year. Be patient. Hopefully it’ll come. At least I believe it will.

Canuck fans know this guy can snipe, but he really needs to simplify his game and just shoot and one time his shots. He will eventually score.
Hockey fans can be disappointing, particularly Canucks fans. This is Pettersson's first real look at the playoffs where the stage is a little bigger and the lights are a little brighter. He'll be fine, he's learning. This is NOT Vancouver's all-in year, this is Vancouver's first year of their contention window. Simple as that. What's more, anyone who watched that game should know that Vancouver was every bit in it from start to finish - they had something like 80+ shot attempts. Credit Nashville 100% for the solid game and insane shot blocking (and the Canucks wildly missing the net). This is looking like a great series, but it's not about who's hungrier. Also, Vancouver's PP has not looked dangerous, which can sink any team in a series.
Something is off in Peteyland and has been for a while. He's been flubbing a lot of plays for the past few weeks that he used to do magic with. It's all the little things, overskating the puck, mishandling even without pressure, overhandling the puck. He has the talent but it seems like he's living in his own head instead of feeling the game. He needs to snap out of it or he's going to be letting his teammates down when they need him the most.
If Pettersson can figure it out I think they can do it if they get mediocre goaltending, but if Canucks continue to get the 0 points, -4 trigger shy and empty net missing Pettersson for the series without Demko the team is going to struggle for sure.
People saying Nashville isn’t good is stating the obvious, stop taking credit away from what they did though. 30 shots blocked is huge. They have 3 forwards and 2.5 defensemen worth anything at all and the rest of the skaters may as well be AHL callups
On Preds second goal, they can't give Forsberg that much time and space alone, he's way too good. Nucks need to tighten things up real fast or they will get shredded
They canucks are a bonfire when they get the fire going; its just been hard for them to light it so far… Top lines HAVE to be better. We cant continue to have Garland and Joshua lead the team because frankly, we wont make it to the finals if thats the case. Everyone needs to be on their A game!
Never liked pettersons game before the contract, and it’s compounded even more that he’s overpaid. He’s basically Marner in Toronto. Good when the physicality is low. Disappears when it’s high.
He has 9 points in 22 games against playoff teams (including these games against the Predators) since the All Star break. It’s one thing to be a ghost of a player in the playoffs but he was so horrendous on that third Nashville goal where he is actively harming the team because of his play.
It always feels so deflating when your starting goalie gets injured during the playoffs. Especially after we just got him back, too. DeSmith is still a good goaltender in his own right, but he just isn't Demko. If the Canucks play smart, they can still win this series, but I feel like it will be rockier. Hopefully Petterson can get going in game 3. Godspeed Canucks.
-------- Beast Mode - Former Canuck Ryan Kesler ------------ Kesler is widely viewed as instrumental in getting the Canucks past Nashville, their second-round opponent during the 2011 cup run. The two-way forward earned the nickname “Beast Mode” after racking up five goals and 11 points in the six games it took the team to down the Predators. “ We could beat you any way we wanted to. If you wanted to out-hit us we would out-hit you. If you wanted to skate us into the ground, we would skate you back. If you wanted to out-skill us, we are up for that, too ,” Kesler said of his 2011 teammates. ” ----------- “ It was a team that could win any way, and I feel like this team has a lot of similarities. “ -----------
Thing is he's had a very poor last couple months not just the start of the playoffs. A lot of us were hoping the playoffs would wake him up but it's just been more of the same. I haven't written him off yet but the frustration has been from a lot more than just the last two games.
the contract seemed to put even more pressure on him after he was already struggling with "outside noise"....this kid is good but he does not create space and take over games like he used to. Is he hiding an injury? Something could be up..but you're right, his confidence needs to increase for him to be a factor. Our depth is carrying us right now. Also, let's be honest....we really need Demko.
Guy held off on signing an extension the whole off season last year and start of the season this year. Soon as he inks a big deal, he forgot how to play hockey lol. I could have put the puck in that wide open net.. He's getting paid over 12m a year... You can't be performing worse than a 4th liner lol
I feel bad for Demko. Getting injured at the beginning of the playoffs sucks, especially if the team that you’re playing on hasn’t been to the playoffs for a bit. This is coming from a preds fan. Yall probably have the series easily with demko in goal.
Too many people saying Petey will be fine. The time is now not later. Petey is not fine and he needs to be way better if the canucks want to make a run.
I’ve been saying this for 2 months and been called a “hater” by my fellow Canucks fan. This guy is playing like a bottom 6 forward and he’s the 5th highest paid player in the league…
Nashville wasnt hungry at all, the first goal was a fluke floater that went in and outside of the forsberg goal which was all world, the canucks were out hitting and putting 80+ shots towards the net with nashville blocking 35 of them was the biggest factor. That was a coin flip game, just no luck.
we feel bad about him, just hope he comes back just some conifdence and start to make moves, feels like the trainer put him infront of the goile? pray hes coming back,
i don’t think the predators were the hungrier team. watching the game canucks were in control of the puck the majority of the time. nashville did a great job eating pucks and disrupting lanes but they did not look like they were outworking vancouver
Disagree, the Canucks has been the better team 5 on 5 through most of the series so far. Special teams are really hurting the Canucks as their PP has been abysmal. It doesn't help one of the main components of that PP is Petey and he is holding that stick way too hard at the moment. He's struggling & the Canucks need him if they want to go far especially with Demko out.
With this series finally over Petey can get a much needed reset. Nashville just wasn't his time. He is a great player, just needs to find his fire. He could easily take the Oilers series and become the absolute hero he could be
the pressure of the contract is weighing heavy on ep40, a contract he wanted to wait with until the end of season. and pressure is coming from all directions fans, media and management. to be honest i would like to say f u to alot of people. he need support,he don't need more pressure, he already has a lot on his plate! so give him the support instead! he needs it!
I just hope for Canadian hockey's sake that Vancouver doesn't go back to their old ways of overpaying players and running out of cap space. I want more Canadian teams to do well.
feels like its already beginning, Petey got more then I believe he should have and Hronek is probably going to get an overpayment. I know people will argue till the cows come home but paying every player their complete maximum and maxing out your cap just leaves the team unable to have and or keep any quality depth and without that playoffs will be short
They paid Petey almost McDavid money and he ain’t anywhere near his level of performance. Not even Draisaitl. Even Pastrnak is paid less than Petey. What Canucks did was insane imo. They should have seriously considered preparation of moving him. Maybe get like 2-3 solid players back or something.
You don't watch a lot of Canucks, do you? He scored the quietest 89 points I have ever seen (one awesome road trip to the East Coast notwithstanding). Next year he is the 5th highest player in the league! Matthews, MacKinnon, McDavid, Panarin, EP....Are you kidding me? He is not even on the same planet as those guys. Is he 5th best? Not a chance. He is maybe top 30, at best. He is barely the third best player on his own team.
buddy you clearly didn’t watch the game yesterday. Vancouver had 81 shot attempts and Nashville had like 25. Nashville scored 2 lucky goals. they were not “hungrier” than the Canucks. if our starting goalie played Nashville would’ve gotten their entire ass kicked.
I think EP has been dealing with an injury or something he hasn’t been himself for a little while now. Sometimes he doesn’t do himself any favours with his body language though, like if he got pissed after missing the net instead of falling to his knees people would see that he cares.
OK, Paused after 30 secs..You have good content but Nash was more determined !?! Did you watch the game!? Nucs dominated in chunks , Preds are prob still ice-packed up.
Canucks just basically threw in the towel playing DeSmith. Like what did they think was gonna happen? Should’ve rolled the dice and played the youngster Silovs…
Everyone was trashing him at the game. Watching him makes me so frustrated. There are so many plays where he could have made more of an effort. He’s so slow on the power play when Hughes is bringing it up and he’s supposed to be the guy behind to take the drop pass, he’s too far back and the defense gets enough time to reposition. I just don’t see any confidence coming from him. He’s passing when he has space. Forcing bad shots, and not taking the shot when it’s open. This even led to a goal yesterday, puck is out of the zone and he throws it back in for an interception and preds score. That’s not what you want to see from someone who will make 12m. I’m just seeing so many bad habits.
@@bakikountwa2192 no it’s not. He’s got the yips or something. He’s not skating hard, he’s taking big turns instead of stopping and taking off. Passing when he has open space. So bad.
Predators playing style is not sustainable. I would imagine their body’s are bruised up and in pain. Pettersson and the powerplay both need to be better. Canucks are still the better team too, gutsy win by the Predators though.
He's a fraud. No guts, no mental fortitude. 12mil "superstars" don't disappear for months. It's not just two games. He's not a kid anymore. 6 seasons, 400+ games. Get your shit together.
Petey is lazy. He doesn't move his feet, gives up after a bad play, and creates a ton of turn-overs. Highest paid disappointment on the Canucks. He's not worth 11.6M.
Can’t even single out Pettersson bc that’s not fair. Plenty of Canucks players had grade A chances and missed. Dakota Joshua for example almost tapped it in but hit the post
Petterson is acting like a little child, he doesn’t need to ask the coach how to be better player, dudes a grown ass man, he seemed to be fine signing a huge contract, suddenly he’s a ghost! When he does have the puck he looks like a rookie, he doesn’t know what to do with it.
EP40 hasn't been himself or played well since the All Star break. So many times he passed the puck instead of shooting, not skating, staying on the periphery, missing the net when he did shoot. He isn't built for playoff hockey - no toughness mentally or physically.
our top guys need to get fucking going, jt miller has been decent, petey has been complete ass and boeser needs to get a move on, we are relying so much on our bottom 6 guys, and our power play is just fucking dogshit, how do you go 0-5 managing 2 shots a pp. thats fucking stupid.
Demko is not reliable. He cannot handle 40-50 games a year and playoffs and stay healthy. Luckily his cap hit is only $5m but you need to spend almost the same on a reliable backup.
It's only two games people say, bah humbug , with Pettersgon it's been ever since he signed an 11 million dollar contract .some of you sound like Biden backers the way you make excusses for the dud

He has 9 points in 22 games against playoff teams (including these games against the Predators) since the All Star break. It’s one thing to be a ghost of a player in the playoffs but he was so horrendous on that third Nashville goal where he is actively harming the team because of his play.
He has the most points by any player in a playoff in the swedish League taking over Peter Forsbergs spot so he has it in him
It always feels so deflating when your starting goalie gets injured during the playoffs. Especially after we just got him back, too. DeSmith is still a good goaltender in his own right, but he just isn't Demko. If the Canucks play smart, they can still win this series, but I feel like it will be rockier. Hopefully Petterson can get going in game 3. Godspeed Canucks.
-------- Beast Mode - Former Canuck Ryan Kesler ------------
Kesler is widely viewed as instrumental in getting the Canucks past Nashville, their second-round opponent during the 2011 cup run.
The two-way forward earned the nickname “Beast Mode” after racking up five goals and 11 points in the six games it took the team to down the Predators.
“ We could beat you any way we wanted to. If you wanted to out-hit us
we would out-hit you.
If you wanted to skate us into the ground, we would skate you back.
If you wanted to out-skill us, we are up for that, too ,” Kesler said of
his 2011 teammates. ”
----------- “ It was a team that could win any way,
and I feel like this team has a lot of similarities. “ -----------
I just hope he doesn’t become Vancouver’s Nurse! He absolutely must produce this season.
Also, let's be honest....we really need Demko.
canucks were the better team we just couldnt score :(
Guy held off on signing an extension the whole off season last year and start of the season this year.
I’m saying they should have waited until after the playoffs to sign him. Let him prove he’s worth it
I’ve been saying this for 2 months and been called a “hater” by my fellow Canucks fan. This guy is playing like a bottom 6 forward and he’s the 5th highest paid player in the league…
Bo Horvat’s contract looking not so bad now. Maybe we should have resigned Bo and moved Petey for some other solid players.
You don’t block 30 shots if you’re not hungry
we feel bad about him, just hope he comes back just some conifdence and start to make moves, feels like the trainer put him infront of the goile? pray hes coming back,
i don’t think the predators were the hungrier team. watching the game canucks were in control of the puck the majority of the time. nashville did a great job eating pucks and disrupting lanes but they did not look like they were outworking vancouver
Here's an idea. The Canucks upset the hockey Gods. We'll see how bad. Great Video!
They should’ve waited until off season for doing the contract but seems Canucks management rushed it.
You nailed the Petey situation. Fans suck here.
So many secondary assists in those 89.
honestly i feel like there was a lot of misfortunate bounces for the canucks and they were dictating the play most of the game
buddy you clearly didn’t watch the game yesterday.
Me too. They are quiet about it. Maybe a wrist or shoulder since he isn't shooting and avoids the boards
OK, Paused after 30 secs..You have good content but Nash was more determined !?! Did you watch the game!? Nucs dominated in chunks , Preds are prob still ice-packed up.
forsberg hitting lankinen?
Yesterday was a good day for us preds fans. Theres a chance!
He’s no UberDough. It will be fine.
I don’t think he watches the games😭
yall need to chill, it’s a 7 game series for a reason
Demko helps but canucks needed to be better
Petterson needs to fix his game
You're making the mistake a lot of People have, you can't count the "Bubble playoffs", it's simply not the same without the fans.
Are they well coached though?
What more hungry Nashville had 12 shots. Not the team.
I never thought DeSmith was gonna win the Canucks the game. He isn’t that good imo. He isn’t consistent
His head isn't in the game.
@@bakikountwa2192 no it’s not. He’s got the yips or something.
He’s not skating hard, he’s taking big turns instead of stopping and taking off. Passing when he has open space. So bad.
He is just snake bit. He'll be fine. Fans are so dumb. Please trade him to the Stars for a bucket of pucks. We'll take him.
Predators playing style is not sustainable. I would imagine their body’s are bruised up and in pain. Pettersson and the powerplay both need to be better. Canucks are still the better team too, gutsy win by the Predators though.
Most of what i see online as a canucks fan is fans whining
Kuzmenko would have scored that
11 million dollar dud
He's a fraud. No guts, no mental fortitude. 12mil "superstars" don't disappear for months. It's not just two games. He's not a kid anymore. 6 seasons, 400+ games. Get your shit together.
all his hats and helmets are way too wide for his head 2:09
I would love some more VGK content, but even when it's not the knights your talking about, I still love your content
Petey lost his confidence and scared to shoot the puck now
They wont win the cup with Peterson in the lineup
Petey is lazy. He doesn't move his feet, gives up after a bad play, and creates a ton of turn-overs. Highest paid disappointment on the Canucks. He's not worth 11.6M.
Can’t even single out Pettersson bc that’s not fair. Plenty of Canucks players had grade A chances and missed. Dakota Joshua for example almost tapped it in but hit the post
Joshua doesn’t make 11.6 million
Petterson is acting like a little child, he doesn’t need to ask the coach how to be better player, dudes a grown ass man, he seemed to be fine signing a huge contract, suddenly he’s a ghost! When he does have the puck he looks like a rookie, he doesn’t know what to do with it.
EP40 hasn't been himself or played well since the All Star break. So many times he passed the puck instead of shooting, not skating, staying on the periphery, missing the net when he did shoot. He isn't built for playoff hockey - no toughness mentally or physically.
Maybe its allergies :)
our top guys need to get fucking going, jt miller has been decent, petey has been complete ass and boeser needs to get a move on, we are relying so much on our bottom 6 guys, and our power play is just fucking dogshit, how do you go 0-5 managing 2 shots a pp. thats fucking stupid.
Demko is not reliable. He cannot handle 40-50 games a year and playoffs and stay healthy. Luckily his cap hit is only $5m but you need to spend almost the same on a reliable backup.
imagine not knowing that casper is a racist term for blacks, then using that term towards an aryan man.
Mark stone has no honor
he's been bad for 3 months, enough with these excuses...
He's been dogwater since getting overpaid
first ez.
atleast watch the video
He’s just soooooo wimpy
They outplayed Nashville terribly lol
It's only two games people say, bah humbug , with Pettersgon it's been ever since he signed an 11 million dollar contract .some of you sound like Biden backers the way you make excusses for the dud
Canucks are always playoff failures. How much does Petey make now, and he's been a ghost.
god these youtube commentary channels really make me wonder if all hockey fans are this gay
I do feel like if Vancouver can’t slam this series home in 5 Nashville is going to win. Nashville plays a better long game. The canucks always have like 2 good periods and then they just give up as soon as momentum shifts
They outplayed Nashville badly each period last night. what are you talking about?
@@davidfarr966 they lost. And no they didn’t outplay them. Nashville came out right away and put a goal in. Don’t be a blind homer. It’s okay to admit your team isn’t perfect. I like the canucks too. But there was no announcer or anyone last night who thought the canucks played their best. They didn’t. They took a bunch of dumb fucking penalties on top of it too.
@@Southboundpachyderm they had significantly less scoring chances, ozone time etc. desmith let in a stinker to start; the Canucks didn’t finish some easyish opportunities. Hockey is a high variability sport, sometimes you outplay the opponent and lose. Again you don’t know what you’re talking about
