We're originally from Iowa and retired to Northwest Tennessee. I retired from nursing as did my husband. I now have a home based business and my husband does interior carpentry and redoing interiors of people's homes. We have just one of six kids that still lives at home, our youngest. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

What a special talent to have learned from your grandmother. I learned to make bows from my best friend, who used to be a florist. She had similar experiences as you; some in the industry were great while others, not so much. But I’m so glad we have the benefit of pre-lit trees and wired ribbon. I only decorate my owns trees and my parents’ trees. I have a corporate job, but this is my creative release!

Ha! Well let’s see, ribbon, navy velvet balls and picks came from a store in Houston called CrafTex. They have the BEST ribbon. They do have a website, though I’ve never shopped off the website. The rest of the ornaments and deer came from At Home. And the lighted item in the tree topper came from Decorator’s Warehouse in Arlington, Tx. They also have a website, though these lights sell out on the site quickly each season. Hope that helps!!
You do ribbon very well! Some people just take one long one and ring around the rosie of the tree and it looks stupid! Also, I love your video style - fast paced and voiced over. I'm in Houston!

This tree is beautiful, but very formal look to me. My colors this year are the dark blues, gold and a smidge of lighter blue. I am not good with ribbon though. Thanks for sharing. I am from Pa.
Thanks for your comment! I bet the touches of light blue will really set off the other tones. Great idea! I’ve found the ribbon takes practice. I had to tell myself it’s okay to add it and then take it off if I don’t like and try again. But after several years, I rarely have to redo it now. Good luck with your decorating!!
That’s quite the distance to travel to see your son’s family. I’m sure you wish they lived closer, but Texas is at least warm in the winter! Greetings from far, far away (Mexicali México 🇲🇽)
Your Friend Laura!
Take care 🙏💖🎄
Thank you for your sweet comments like always, my dear friend Laura! I love that you combined navy with orange for Easter. I love those 2 colors together. Sounds like a striking tree. Can’t wait to hear what you do for the upcoming holiday season! Stay healthy my friend. Cheers!! ❤️❤️
Dallas Tx
Hi in Dallas! You’re close to one of my favorite Christmas stores, Decorator’s Warehouse in Arlington. Thanks for your comment!!
An Alabama girl, who spent 20 years in Texas who has now found Meca in Montana! I really like your approach to decorating the tree. I have followed you for a couple of years and thoroughly enjoyed your wrapping tutorial as well. Where did you find the tree topper light? I actually have been using Navy on a flocked tree for the past couple of years. Really neat unexpected color.
Wow, that’s quite the temperature adjustment from the South to Montana! The tree topper light came from Decorator’s Warehouse in Arlington, Tx. They’re already sold out online, but Frontgate sells something similar called LED Spritzers. Amazon also has something that appears similar, though I can’t vouch for the quality. (amzn.to/3au9Hor Also, they’re battery powered)I love that you use navy on your tree as well. Thanks for being a long-time follower. Cheers!
Love the colors! What a beautiful tree. Watching from the Philippines...
Hello in the Philippines! That’s almost the exact other side of the globe from where I’m at in Oklahoma, US! Thanks for your comment and for watching. Cheers!!
I've been waiting for your Christmas Decor series this year. And, you never disappoint me! Your fan from Philippines.
Awww, thank you for such a sweet comment! That makes my day. ❤️ Hello to you in the Philippines!
Love your tree. Especially the colors. I’m from Illinois.
Hello in Illinois! Thank you for the feedback! I love to to use non-traditional colors on my Christmas trees. Cheers!!
Where do buy your ribbon?
Also in OK
Hi in Oklahoma! The ribbon on this tree came from a store in Houston called CrafTex. They do have an online store as well, though I’ve only ever shopped in person. I also find good ribbon at Hobby Lobby and At Home, but they’re a little more mainstream with the trends for that season whereas CrafTex has very unique ribbon as well. Hope that helps!
🙌😍😍😍
Thank you for your comment and for watching!! ❤️❤️
I would love to know where you bought your Ribbon
The ribbon came from a store in Houston called CrafTex about 5 or 6 years ago. They have one of the best selections of ribbon of any place I’ve shopped. They do have a website as well: www.craftex.biz Hope that helps!
@@themadeupokie thank you so very much I wasn't expecting you to even talk back to me but you're a blessing thank you I could follow you now I think or did I follow you I think I did follow you wow how cool is that
While I lived in Texas there was a store I used to love to shop in Baker they had a it was called Garden Ridge and they had everything I bought a lot of Specialties out of there and Christmas decorations and trees and why did I buy trees and since you are from Texas I'm sure you heard of it I had never heard of this craft text so thank you
I’ve shopped at Garden Ridge before! They were awesome. I’m not positive, but they seemed to have become At Home? I have one near me in Oklahoma and have gotten a lot of ornaments and a couple of trees from there too!
Hi Catherine I'm from Greece! Your tree is very beautiful , I love the blue ornaments and the blue velvet ribbon. Blue and white or blue and silver (many of your ornaments are silver) is a great combination.
Hi Dora! Greece might be a new country for someone to mention they’re from on my channel! I happen to love blue on Christmas trees too. In addition to this tree for my parents, I also do a blue, white and silver tree in my bedroom. I’ve traditionally used warm white lights on my tree but this year I’m going to add cool white as well to enhance the blue tones. Thanks for saying hi!
