@@thatguy1488I kinda hope that it's like Skyrim and Fallout 4 where you can have countless hours of adventures without playing the storyline. Don't get me wrong I hope it's a good story but some open world games make the mistake of focusing so much on the story that the rest of the world feels empty.
Have you never played a Bathesda game ever? They always do the bare minimum of story and rely more on a giant sandbox world with nothing in it and the player making the game good themselves. If you're expecting Mass Effect prepare to be massively let down.
I never cared for the main story in previous Bethesda RPGs. I feel like scale, exploration, the ability to just carve your own path and create your own story outside of the 'be a hero' main one are what these games are all about, and I'd be content if this was the same. Solid main story is a bonus in a Bethesda RPG, not a must.
I'm seriously overwhelmed by that showcase. I need to process all of it, cause if this is what they're saying and showing, this game is gonna be absolutely MASSIVE.
Same. Overwhelmed and kind of shocked. As for Starfield: it is gonna be one of the best games ever made, right up there besides Half-Life 2. Cannot wait!

As excited as I am about THIS game, oh my, I'm REALLY looking forward to say, maybe a year, when the modding community gets really comfortable with the modding tools and starts to produce some excellent mods for this game.
Given Bethesda's extensive track record it'll probably be an amazing game as long as you don't mind it being riddled with bugs, some of which will probably be game-breaking. I stopped buying their games because of this. I know some folks don't mind and thats cool but I'd rather have a game that I can rely on to not ruin 100's of hours of progress in, even if it is smaller in scope. To each their own though.
@Bimboms lmao Forget day 1 - every single game they've dropped that has a vast amount of bugs still has a ton even after all official patches AND community patches. And in every case, some of those bugs are still game breaking. Not to mention that most of them tend to insta-crash once a save file gets too large, which is inevitable once you've played a file long enough. Meanwhile, I can load up my files of TW3, all of my monster hunter games, borderlands 2, and countless others with 0 issues after 1000+ hours. 😂 Why do people buy this s*it still?
Idk why it doesn’t seem that hype honestly. Elden ring and cyberpunk where definitely way more hyped one their releases each to varying levels of success
My ONLY concern with starfield after that showcase, is the framerate (fully expecting it to be 30 on consoles) other than that, wow I'm blown away this game looks incredible. Well done Bethesda.
It could also be the video itself, most premieres don't run at 60 fps. I'll be playing on PC so FPS won't be an issue for me but I hope my console friends get at least 30
I genuinely hope this game is the next Skyrim, something will play for the next 13 years and constantly compare every other game too (a man can dream). Also The presence of the gateway Arch leads me to believe I can go to my hometown in Appalachia in this game. I don't know if it'll be rendered in ruins or if it'll even be there but I'm going to the exact coordinates
This trailer doesn't have a fifth of the fundamental elements seen in Skyrim or its trailer. They used heavy sunset lighting to show some pretty shots, but the humans look worse than anything they've ever made.
@@Kovixx22 Taste? I just said the sunsets look nice and the characters look awful. Try not to take Bugthesda criticism personally. I hadn't seen the longer game video when I watched this. Are you conflating what is shown here with what is shown there? This was a terrible showcase compared to what the longer video showed. Still, worst rendered, designed, and animated characters in any Beth game so far, nice sunsets and mediocre space rendering aside. They looked like Mass Effect Andromeda version 0.5 mixed with Fortnight.
“The wonder is ……not that the field of stars is so vast. But that we have measured it”…….no matter what you think about this game that’s an amazing line
If I can find an empty paradise planet, build my own city, invite my favorite npcs, and create a safari zone/preservation of various animals across the galaxy, and even make a large greenhouse of various plant life from different planets, that would be amazing.
I agree! I want to find all the jungle & forest planets. The flat rocky moon biomes don’t interest me at all. I want to make my pirate headquarters on dinosaur planet lol
More than anything, I’m here for the stories. I loved that aspect of fallout, those weird little stories that would be unfolding in the bunkers. IMO that was what made outer worlds feel a little flat. It didn’t feel like there was much more off the beaten path.
@@bradenwoods1111 also new vegas has gotta be the worst fallout ever. Go off the main road or the main story and there's nothing of any significance to find
This actually looks very exciting! I only hope for one thing in particular tho. That Bethesda doesn't mess with the modding community like with the creation club or try to shove micro-transactions in the game. Bethesda games always have one of the most dedicated modding communities and I can see this game really thriving from that if they make their lives easier instead of making them jump through hoops or trying to find a way to monetize the modding scene. If they do that, this game seems like it will be a massive hit.
I hope they learned they tried it for the past 15 years again and again and never succeeded. Hopefully they realise that it's a stupid idea, but i doubt it.

@@atheist101 fair point, and while my judgement isn’t clouded (modded Skyrim and fallout our some of my favs) it’s nice to see the potential for a more “alive” open world game. If those core RPG elements are as good as they seem in Starfield then imagine what a future fallout or elder scrolls title can be like.
@Benjamin Schimpf oh yeah they've pumped out some amazing games like Prey and Doom 2016/Eternal. They definitely have the potential to make it great but also the potential to fuck it all up. Its two extremes and we have to hope for the best
I have now downloaded upscaled textures for almost all of the game. It wasn’t as difficult as it sounded. With the game in true 4K and auto HDR, it looks absolutely phenomenal. Starfield is one of those entertainment products that you know will be remembered as something great. There has never been an undertaking like this, connecting entire solar systems with RPG mechanics in a 3D adventure setting. Starfield is something you have to be patient with, and you have to take the time to optimize the settings on PC in order for it to really shine like the sun. A beautiful game. Thank you so much, Bethesda, for all of it. I really am grateful. Do remember, Bethesda, that many science fiction masterpieces were not acknowledged when they were released. Blade Runner, for instance, got a bad reception when it was released. Blade Runner, let that sink in. Keep polishing that pearl, Bethesda. Keep fixing bugs and releasing new content. The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even touched; they must be felt from the heart.
im actually quite optimistic. I actually believe them that they really want to get a complete and polished game out. They have been taking their sweet time with this one, even waiting years for better technilogy to actually make the vision they have with less compromise. (Something they said when they first revealed the title I think like ~7 years ago). The game wasnt really on my radar because shiny big things often are just superficial. I just stumpled on the new reveals and got a bit hyped :) Definitely going to keep an eye on it
I honestly think Baldurs Gate 3 has more depth than Starfield. It's a shame that it's not getting as much recognition. But they come out around the same time so we'll see.

I was cynical at first as most games that have been released recently have looked good in the trailer but then you buy it and play it and wish you could get your money back. This game, however, is 100% worth the money. It’s no man’s sky, Skyrim, and fallout all smashed together. I'm a long-time player of Bethesda games. I have probably over five thousand hours putting together every Bethesda game I've played. I've never been so excited and chilled by a game as I am by STARFIELD. Thank you Microsoft and Bethesda for making things possible.
Starfield seems like it's gonna be a mixture of No Man's Sky and Star Citizen sprinkled with a little bit of Skyrim and a little bit of Fallout, and I'm hyped.
Tbh I kinda liked the learning curve of Elite Dangerous because once I learned, it really added to the whole feeling of being a starship pilot. But for the sake of having more people get into the game, it'll probably be a lot simpler than ED, which wanted to be a space simulator more so than a regular RPG.

Starfield is the bathesda I know. (Spoilers) it was 2007 and I walked down into the basement to see my brother playing a new video game on his Xbox 360. Watching him, build his character that vaguely resembles himself made me curious. I sat down quietly behind him, watching him walk though the vault then out into the waste from the vault door, the light seemed to hit his face so dramatically until I overlooked that wasteland for the first time. That made my little brain that barely knew what the Internet was explode. I was in love…. until he made his way into the high school and the Raiders scared the life out of me. All of those jump scares they put in seemed to have been coded just for me. I didn’t play the game until a couple of years later but once I picked up fallout 3, there was no going back. Then came fallout new Vegas, even though obsidian wrote the script it’s bathesdas DNA and if God Howard could stop being petty, then obsidian and Bethesda could make the scariest realist fallout game ever but I digress. Back to it tho. With fallout 3 and NV I really felt like the character, taking every action of mine to heart, and I wouldn’t do a thing I thought would hurt others. Pixels or not. So my karma was always maxed out in both games and it gave me a sense of accomplishment being the good guy for once. The real world respects evil in reality, but Bethesda games truly make you feel good for being the hero, and if you don’t want to, you can be the monster too, I think that’s the point of the games. The only thing obsidian does better than Bethesda is the grittiness of the reality they create. To hunt down cook cook who was a rapist, who took the soul from this poor NCR sniper from camp McCarran. And as a 13 year old, I wanted justice for this poor woman. I did everything in my power to make those fiends pay. I made sure to get the sniper therapy seasons too. That’s the parts of those games that stuck with me. When the worst things happen and you can still figure out a way to make things better, or at least try. Fallout 4 and fallout 76 never gave me those feelings, and for years, about 10 I truly was so crushed by Bethesda because I didn’t think they would ever make me feel in one of there games again. Then came Starfield, a single player space RPG that truly gave me some hope for a good title, and if you want a game that makes you think at times, makes you question good from bad, evil or just misunderstood, right from wrong, or just simply some compelling drama from time to time, then this is the game for you. It also does so much more, like gun play, and cool/fun/goofy mechanics, like mind control, or the ability to lie to everyone around you for your own moral reasoning just by dismissing companions, that just truly MAKES the middle section of the game fun too, between some okay, some good and then some really excellent dialogue. Thank you for going back to the game studio I love. This game isn’t perfect but it sure is a 10 out of 10. Just like TOD the GOD said, the more time you put into Starfield the more you get out of it. SPOILER Im on my 5th multi verse. And the reason this game is so beautiful it’s because, me being me, I love to be the hero, so when I found unity, and listened to what the enlighten starborn had to say, I knew they were my people, and become a united energy as a human being all together to use all of our knowledge, power and strength to be the best human in this universe as we possibly could sounded delightful. But as you walk through a few more lifetimes of experience, if not hundreds of different lifetime and experiences, it dawned on me. The more lifetimes I experience, the easier it is to justify the hunters actions. Out of integrity I have been a good guy and all of my play throughs, but who knows… my 15th play through…. I might just be a monster. Live long enough and see yourself become a villain, but stay strong, and HOPEFULLY you’ll die hero….. eventually…
The jetpack aerial combat reminds me of Mass Effect Andromeda, and some of the guns look straight out of Destiny. I can tell Bethesda has played a lot of scifi games to get inspiration! The armor looks cool too!

Would have been a Mega drive/ PS one/ GBC game
I would have been four if that’s the case
I have played this game for about 15 hours so far and I can say with full confidence that I forgive Bethesda for taking so long on Elder Scrolls 6.
Starfield seems like it's gonna be a mixture of No Man's Sky and Star Citizen sprinkled with a little bit of Skyrim and a little bit of Fallout, and I'm hyped.
You forgot mass effect
I hope the learning curve would be easier than Elite Dangerous
Tbh I kinda liked the learning curve of Elite Dangerous because once I learned, it really added to the whole feeling of being a starship pilot. But for the sake of having more people get into the game, it'll probably be a lot simpler than ED, which wanted to be a space simulator more so than a regular RPG.
mixture ?? mixture ??? .... just copy-paste on a software-id-driver-level AND on graphics-level.!!!
cheaply produced, only the environment background graphics took some time and irritanting delaying personal influence by the financers persons of this game...
the rest (95%) is cheap copy-paste old id-driver-level software ... 😂😂😂😂😂
what a crap; another primitive agressive shooting-game...
i truelly transform to an aliën wyping out the Sapiëns and all life on this planet because of it's wrong and bad-expanding (re)start-ups with:
eating or to be eaten
colonialisation-aims
take-over + repress groundbase-action-drives
deceiving/lying/hiding/transform/corrupt/nontrustable deep attitude on gen and cell and corps level
and every startup ( now already 4 times on this planet in 2 miljard EarthYears !) leaving the phase of < everyting-"eats"-basic-moleculs&ions > within 1 milion EarthYears in every (re)startup...
bad planet,
so again a too predictable stupid male-subcortex-based silly game which prooves aliëns again this planet must be totally wiped out ...
no intelligent life here 😮😢...

silly boys ... 😊😂
Now that it's been out for a while, I can confirm that it is Fallout
1:40 my favourite part...the 🎶 sounds so epic.
The game music as well as music for various SciFi tv shows like Battlestar Galactica scores composed by Bear McCreary for example, have been underrated for some time now. The music is awesome and immersive. When you see the live orchestra performances of these scores it’s absolutely amazing.

Starfield is the bathesda I know. (Spoilers)
it was 2007 and I walked down into the basement to see my brother playing a new video game on his Xbox 360.
SPOILER
Im on my 5th multi verse. Live long enough and see yourself become a villain, but stay strong, and HOPEFULLY you’ll die hero….. eventually…
This looks great! Do we know if this footage was captured on PC or Series X?
PC. No question.

If that’s the saving grace to a game, maybe the game isn’t that great after all
@@ComPTonRiLLOstop making this dumb comment lol. It's not the "saving grace". Most comments praising the game aren't even about that, obviously 🙄
If you take Elite: Dangerous, No Mans Sky, Fallout 4, and New Vegas and make it blend together you get this.
And the outer worldw
The jetpack aerial combat reminds me of Mass Effect Andromeda, and some of the guns look straight out of Destiny. I can tell Bethesda has played a lot of scifi games to get inspiration! The armor looks cool too!
You mean if you take out Elite dangerous, no mans sky, everything that makes a space sim and put "space as an abstract theme" in instead.
